1. Can anyone recently off of the Reflection comment on the status of the Elite happy hour? Didn't they offer vouchers for a while there? I only ask as we were recently on the Reflection and did not hear or see a thing about it. Perhaps the notice was in the daily and we just missed it. Thanks,

2. The classic beverage package only applies to wines by the glass, not bottles. You can order any glass of wine, up to and including $9 per glass. $13 if you have the Premium package. That being said, there are wine packages that you can order that give you a decent discount (roughly 20%) on multiple bottles of wine. And sometimes there are coupons offered during the sailing. Hope this helps!

I don't think this is correct. I think you can get a 15% discount on all bottles of wine bought onboard.

3. My wife and I are first timers with MSC. We will be trying the Yacht Club experience. We could get reciprocal (Black) status through several different travel partners RCCL, Celebrity, AA, etc. I just don't see the benefit other than some free chocolate. The way I see it, if we use the complimentary Black status, we receive no cruise credit of our own toward future status with MSC. Do I have this correct? Black benefits in YC are minimal. Thanks, G3

4. I don't understand what you mean! Of course there's a wall between the bed and the balcony, it has a sliding door in it and it has curtains that go over it at night. Every balcony cabin I've ever seen has been exactly the same. Maybe I am unclear as to what you're trying to get at

Sounds a tad harsh, think?

5. This whole thread is so scattershot, I am getting confused. Some people seem to read a post and see something other than the words that are written there. To be clear, I make NO claim as to where paid or unpaid upgrades go, nor do I feel cheated that my perks aren't better. I AM saying that 'given the amounts of money that some of Celebrity's loyal customers spend with them, I'd like to see some sort of MEANINGFUL amenities as a token of their appreciation.'
6. The repeat business I (any many others on this site) do with Celebrity amounts to $6,000 to $8,000 annually considering that my wife and myself take 2 cruises a year. Do I expect a little consideration for my business and loyalty (and those amounts of money)? You bet. We've been Elite for years now and I'm not sure for which of the perks I should be grateful. Boarding priority? That doesn't work so well, as we almost always end up in whatever line is shortest. Single cabin category upgrade pricing? That has so many exceptions built in and even at that it amounts to only @$100-$150 discount at booking. Maybe the free "house/well" drink at the Elite Happy Hour? Never had one, probably never will as 5-7pm is time to dress for dinner and dinner itself. Rearranging our schedule for the promise of cheap liquor doesn't make sense. Let's see, I'm forgetting the coupon sheet. 90 minutes of free internet and we all know how well the internet works on Celebrity's ships. 1 free scoop of gelato? 1? Really? But there's two of us! 20% off the SECOND bottle of wine? I won't bother to mention how silly I must look trying to fish that coupon out of a wad in my pocket that I carry hoping to stumble into a situation where it might be used. How about the Captain's Elite cocktail party or lunch or whatever it is? We stopped going years ago as our comments were never taken seriously. Most of the crewmembers in attendance acted as if they'd rather have been somewhere else. I definitely feel like Celebrity takes my business for granted. Look no further than their website itself. If they really cared about 'the Celebrity experience' they'd have a world class website for starters, then they'd train their reservation people what they need to know so we wouldn't have to call back several times to get an answer to seemingly simple questions. Do I get all warm and fuzzy when I think of Celebrity? Do I feel appreciated and recognized as a loyal customer? Hardly.
7.
I guess I am "one of those" Elite Plus who thinks rewarding a loyal customer with a surprise upgrade to a Suite would be a nice gesture as opposed to giving it to someone who booked an inside guarantee.

My husband spent the majority of his business career flying the friendly skies of United and staying in Marriott hotels. For his loyalty, he (and I) were awarded Premier Gold status for life on United and Platinum Elite status for life with Marriott. Being able to always fly Economy Plus, never paying for luggage, access to the Lounge, etc means we almost always book air with United. As for Marriott, we receive upgraded rooms (and suites when available)Concierge Lounge access, complimentary breakfast, etc which means we always stay at a Marriott property. Bottom line is they rewarded my husband for his loyalty (and me for every one of our kids school and sporting events I attended without him) and we reward them by continuing being loyal customers.

Celebrity's mind set that those of us who have been loyal to them will always be loyal to them might come back to haunt them. This is the first time in over 10 years, we only have one cruise booked with them for a given calendar year.
I wholeheartedly agree. Celebrity should wise-up.
8. What about this idea? WHEN Celebrity gets a relieble website.......they add a new header within your speciific "manage cruise" area. Make it active, say 60 days from cruise date. List possible upgrades to your specific cabin situation AND specific upcharges. Automate the whole thing. That way Celebrity gets their extra revenue, the passengers get their upgrade offers and Celebrity gets us to do the work! Maybe you would be allowed to do this only once per cruise. Just a thought.......discuss.

9. Where does everyone get the idea that if you miss the ship they will send an Officer to pack up your things? Never heard of this. I have seen many people miss the ship at lots of ports in the Carib, and never saw pax luggage being offloaded. I think this is one of those feel good notions people invent. If you miss the ship through your own fault, I'd guess you're in a world of hurt. You had better have sufficient cash and a credit card and at least a color copy of your passport to catch up with the ship. Once I saw a couple miss the ship somewhere in the Carib and the next day was a sea day, then docking at Lauderdale. The couple showed up at the terminal trying to locate all their personal belongings.

10. Any drinks, except the most premium alcohols, 24/7 (slight surcharge). If you do a search for the YC drink menu on this forum, you will find them. You also do not have to order from the drink menu. If there is something you would like for them to make, just tell them and they are more than happy to oblige.

You mention a slight surcharge for premium alcohols. I was under the impression that you had to pay full price for any liquors not covered. Also, do the Yacht Club bars feature any 12 year old scotches as included? Thank you, g3
