  1. We bought a Bella inside and got upgraded to a balcony without bidding for the November12 Seaside
  2. Great thanks. This non yc peon will be happy to get his own. 😁
  3. Not quite the same and we don’t have to have it but it was always nice. Unfortunately I don’t like regular milk.
  4. I believe $80 is the price I've recently seen online. Is there 15% off that pre cruise or is it 15% more once onboard?
  5. Well crap! We've never been on a cruise that didn't have chocolate milk. We love it with our breakfast
  6. Experienced cruisers but new to MSC. Do the prices on their site for excursions, drink packages, dining and so forth reflect the 15% discount for advanced booking or is 15% knocked off at checkout from what we see? Their excursions are surprisingly reasonably priced! Looking forward to our November Seaside sailing.
  7. Thanks Nature. I swear that's what I was looking at but then again....
  8. Burner phone passed through my head but I don't need to stay in touch that bad. Thanks.
  9. Well I sure hope the CLAA website is wrong because it shows our Radiance of the Seas not even being in port in Skagway on Wednesday May 24th and there are only 2 other boats in on that day. Last time I had checked where we docked, we were supposed to be on the best one for the situation. I have not received any notification from RC of any changes.
  10. Update. Just to make things tighter on the transfers and nearly impossible to take a glacier tour, I got an email from the bus transfer company saying RCI and Celebrity are docking in Seward later than they have ever done, which will push arrival times in Anchorage back about an hour.
  11. I have Mint mobile and they don't have any coverage at all in Alaska, even in port. The only workaround I know is to use wifi while in port at a cafe or something. Is there another way? I'm only looking to make calls to check in back home anyway. Mint also does not do Canada but I bought International credits with them to use while there and I'll keep the data roaming feature off while there to keep from using it all up with texts and stuff.
  12. I think you meant me and yeah, that's how I figured it actually operated so I'm kind of assuming these tours won't actually be available at the pier since they're already almost sold out now.
  13. Yeah, you never know in this topsy turvy world now if things will be one the same one year to the next Northern Aurora and if nothing happens before May, I would only expect all things travel to improve. Thanks for the info and if you look at my other post entered just after this one, you'll see why I'm asking.
  14. I booked a Sitka tour online via trip advisor and then called them, as no times were specified for the second excursion I wanted to take. Trip advisor told me if I booked 2 or more tours I would get a 5% discount so after learning the correct time for the second excursion, I told them thank you and to cancel the one I originally made and to rebook it and to book the second excursion for me so I would save money. Well, we learned after a minute that they couldn't because the tour operator has a no refund policy. I've been seeing all these tours that say cancellable until 24-48 hours before the date that I naively assumed everyone was doing this unless it was a one-off tour. It's not that great of a savings in this instance around $15, but more so the principle, especially considering the original booking was 10 minutes old. I went back and looked at the page on TA and there were 15 tours I think, only 3 of which were non-cancellable, and 2 of those 3 were operated by the same outfit. So, being in the ultra happy mood I was at that time, I contacted the tour operator directly via email on their website and wrote a very shaming (but no name calling or cursing) letter concerning this and how dare they do this when no other companies were doing so and explaining what their policy prevented me from doing. They called me back politely and said they didn't want anyone to be unhappy and would refund me. I said thank you and told him I actually didn't want a refund but a rebook as I had noted. He said no thank you and that I'd probably be happier booking with another operator and I told them okay and didn't grovel, despite me knowing from looking that the only other operator doing this tour was already sold out on all trips on my day (turns out the ship was too surprisingly, probably because they use the other operator). Lol, so I managed to pee someone off in Alaska and I haven't even gotten there yet! If you see the new topic I started just before this one, you now know why I made it. Bottom line is, be careful when booking because all operators don't have essentially the same policies. I should have started booking my excursions over a month ago anyway. Mea culpa. Happy cruising!
  15. You know, like you see at every port in the Caribbean? I'm asking because what we want to do is sold out already on the dates we will be visiting. Really, we're just looking to do the bears, raptors and totem thing, but I do have a 2hr kayak scheduled. Book early folks. Live and learn, it ain't like the Caribbean lol.
  16. Fwiw, I spoke with someone at the White Pass Railway the other day and she thinks everything will be okay for up to 4 ships/day. My May 19 cruise hasn't listed a port change.
  17. Thank you very much, sgvcruiser! This is the exact information I was looking for.
  18. Thanks everyone. I think I've got what I need to know now.
  19. Just looking specifically for things to do in town while walking around, thanks
  20. We are debating on whether to do a 71/2 hour train and bus trip, leaving us about an hour to hour and a half to see town, vs a 5 hour train and bus trip. Is there much worth seeing or to do in town and if so, how much time should we allot for it? We're not looking for anything active but just wondering about going in famous spots or museums possibly, walking or riding around in town and such. Heck, I just hope we get to stop in Skagway now that I've read some other posts but it looks like we will. Keeping my fingers crossed.
