  1. Dogs are different than cats, Disney isn't just like Six Flags! Up is not down...etc.

Why would one expect each CL to be a copy of another...if MSC Seaside's offerings are not to your tastes...move on and book the cruise of your liking.

    >4,000 people are enjoying Seaside every week, speaks volumes compared to the few negative posters on this forum.

    No CL will satisfy everyone.

Cheers, enjoy the cruise of your choice!

  2. Stuart-

You are +1000 for making that point...as 'sensible' doesn't factor in with the trolls on this forum...many who have never been on Seaside. So true, that waste is another USA trait that needs to improve.

Nikki- just Wow for taking your vacay time to clear up so many things with your live reports/images!!! Many Thanks, folks like you are the value of CC. Enjoy the remainder of your cruise!

    Cheers!

Well, whilst the amount of each dish is definitely smaller, variety doesn't seem to be an issue. Sensible approach to cutting down on food waste.

Amazing though how most of these people that state 'facts' suddenly disappear from posting when proven to be wrong.

  3. Hi FunNsun-

Are you looking at your booking confirmation that they emailed you? Or is this just from conversations on the phone?

Our YC confirmation states all drinks, at all bars, restaurants, etc are included. It does not mention a drink package like Classic or Deluxe, just YC inclusive.

Could it be that mentioning a 'drink package' is causing the confusion? Our phone booking and emailed confirmation was as easy/clear as any transaction in memory.

    Cheers!

Called back and they are still telling me the same thing. They say there is a Classic and Premium and that the YC comes with the Classic. I am going to try to speak with a Supv.
  4. Trolls gonna troll...

I am on Seaside this month and MSC Black Card, I am a frequent traveler. I like information, but not hyperbole from folks who grind their invisible ax just to aggrevate others.

No travel experience is for everybody, share and gather information, if not for you...move on to the threads for the cruise you prefer.

I'm not loyal to MSC (or any brand), I have status (CLs, hotels, airlines, CCs) by frequency and volume. When a brand no longer meets my needs, I speak with my wallet...no endless thread crapping on forums/reviews.

    Cheers!

You do know that there is a program to tell who has you really blocked and who has you “fake” blocked right? But please, carry on- I think anyone sensitive to criticism should block me. I’m sure I aggravate many people, but my hope is that I help more than I aggravate:)
  5. Note: BB2014 has never stepped on Seaside!

Lots of negative posts, yet zero experience on this ship.

    I smell something.

Not a MSC fan, but also not a hater either...please enjoy crusing on whatever line you do enjoy!

  6. loyality perks and changes...not happy with Black Card status benefits/outcomes...yup Got that from this thread.

Being Black Card and many other "frequent traveler" status, like those on this thread...we get that things change and rarely in our favor.

So goes the world, if these programs have some benefit or value, we participate, if not we stop participating...easy.

FYI: I came to CC to share information and experiences, not grouse nor tilt at windmills.

I respect that others have various reasons to post on CC.

Cheers, enjoy the cruises of your choosing!

quote=nikkiw60;55249438]I don’t think you are understanding the issue.

You need to read the various Black Card threads.

  7. Having lived on east and west sides of both big ponds on our blue planet, my experience is many countries have stronger consumer laws that protect from the consumeristic predatory scams that are common here in USA...

My key point, if one is not satisfied with any offer, than just do not participate.

It is not realistic to assume one will get everything the way we think 'is fair'...whatever that means. Bigger issues in one's life and the world than minor cruise issues.

    Cheers, enjoy your cruise vacations!

None on this side of the pond - we don't get the kind of incentives that those in the US do (seemingly for practically everything in life LOL). We get zero, zilch, nada. Perhaps that's why some of us are a little more sensitive about the erosion of perks or non-delivery of same on MSC (which is what this thread is about).

I was going to wait for Dave (Sidari) to respond, but I just want to point out that the 5% discount voucher he's talking about was supposedly as compensation for being let down during his cruise on Seaside. Hence the position he has taken. It wasn't an arbitrary offer made by MSC.

  8. We live in a corporate world of fine print, all companies operate in this manner...why so shocked any CL would have T&C's...for everything.

OTOH, read the trip advisor/CC EULA... that will really set you off *♀️

If the offer doesn't meet your needs, just do not use it. How many credit card offers do we all throw in the recycle bin a year? I see this as the same.

Life is good, these are little non-issues.

    Cheers!

  9. Hello LL-

    We use http://www.gojiffyjeff.com/rates/

$15pp and in captain chairs in Mercedes van, very professional and timely service.

You book with them and there is no queue for ride share nor taxi.

Saturdays the traffic usually allows about ~35-45 minute trip Miami Port to FLL.

Enjoy your cruise and do not stress about departure times, you booked a easy to connect flight time

    Cheers!

  10. Excellent question, seems you speak from recent 1st hand experience vs. rumors and hearsay.

We appreciated your opinion review, images, and factual comments, Mucho gusto V89 :), fyi Mx City is one of our global favs...so much rich American culture and history.

(Seems many think America = USA...which is actually just one recent portion of the Americas)

Most CLs have suggested dress code, it is mostly not enforced on any ship, as passengers have enough social skill to be presentable for the occassion.

Cheers, enjoy your vacations on the CL of your choice!

    Were you?

I wore shorts all week long, all day long, and never was I told I couldn´t. I even wore shorts to elegant night (nice, dressy shorts with designer shoes and a very nice, elegant jacket) and no one ever told me a thing.

  11. 1000's of travelers agree with the value and quality of MSC Seaside and other ships every week!

I'm not 'content' with current state, but am realistic as to what will and should change.

i.e. several on CC have stated that MSC Seaside should change their approach to using Deck 8 buffet as MDR for evening meals...that will never happen...they used years of data and analyzed the metrics to determine the optimum utilization for their overall clientele and floor plan. Many folks are intimidated by differences and change, we embrace it...viva la difference! If I wanted the same, why would I 'try something different'?

All CLs have advantages/benefits, if MSC is not a fit for your cruising style, please choose one that is.

The vitriol shown on CC toward the Seaside, the newest ship based in Miami is unfounded. My comments would be the same regardless of which CL she was operated by.

    Cheers, enjoy your cruise!

  12. +1000^

Vast majority of Seaside cruisers are happy as are cruisers on the other lines. The worst vacay I ever had was great.

What a few see as deal breakers are deal makers to the majority of others. Food not salty, they have shakers on the table...how is that a legit complaint?

Cheers, enjoy your cruise! (whatever CL

    /ship you choose)

I just returned from a week on seaside. Had a wonderful cruise. Appears that only the people that had problems post on cruise critic. Out of 5500 people a miniscule number had a bad cruise but they make the most noise. Anyone can find negatives if they look. Its a vacation go with a positive attitude and enjoy.
  13. We have had zero communication issues with MSC. They have to date, been as aligned and coordinated as other CLs and hotels/resorts. 50x better than all current US airlines...

As global business travelers, who have lived abroad, we appreciate consistent quality services/offerings...MSC is top 1/3rd.

I grew up in the hospitality business and can speak to the inconsistency of travelers skills and interpersonal acumen.

Life does happen and when I find myself in a situation that is not 'meeting expectations'...the first thing I do is 'check' myself and ask what ownership I have in the situation/outcomes...was it unrealistic expectations, miss steps, attitude, tone, timing, etc...

    Takes two to tango ;-)

    Cheers, enjoy your vacays!

  14. +1OO

Pay base cruise rate for cabin and then add/choose what you want.

Nothing at resorts nor cruiselines is free, better to spend on what has value for you a la carte.

I actually prefer the directions things have gone for the major lines, MSC included.

I would much rather pay a low base fare, then pay only for those add-ons that enhance my experience.

  15. Thanks for the clarity that you were speaking to the quantity of the heated loungers.

Being that Seaside refers to part of their spa as a Thermal Area, I wrongly assumed you were speaking about loungers in general.

All spas and resorts seem to have crowded/rush times and unless you have reserved seating/cabana/etc. what you want might not be available at any time.

Life is good, especially when you are in a spa!

    Cheers!

There are more regular loungers in the spa but only 3 are the thermal type where they warm up.
