  1. My PVP told me the same last week and that it’s unfortunately a change (in regards to putting the TBA) on the names. He acknowledged that yes you can do it online but he can’t do it for me and did say they are pushing back on name change fee overrides as well. My theory is they’re making it easier for people to book direct vs using a PVP so they don’t have to pay them commission or “bonus”. My pvps name disappeared from all my emails from carnival as well starting march 1st. He had to re add me as a customer but only could do that after I reached out to him.

  2. I’d encourage computer literate adults to get their own carnival accounts and put their booking number in under manage cruises so they can look at excursions/cheers packages/pictures /that sort of thing. You’ll still be able to see their account as well and “check in” and choose their arrival time and also double check anything else they might have filled out. I did have my kids download the hub app prior to leaving so ready once on board but didn’t create them carnival accounts.

  3. I failed on 3/10-dissapointing as we have another room as well for the kids...will attempt it on my hubbys name I guess.

Thank you for submitting your shareholder brokerage statement.

Regrettably, we are unable to process your request to apply the shareholder benefit with the referenced reservation.

In accordance with the terms of the shareholder onboard credit benefit, reservations with a reduced rate promotion do not qualify for the onboard credit. While it may have been inadvertently accepted in the past, we are now adhering to the conditions of the shareholder program.  We sincerely apologize for any disappointment this has caused and trust, that as a Carnival investor, you will understand our position in this matter.

Thank you for your continued support.  We look forward to welcoming you on board!

  4. Yes-we've done this with our teenagers. You can either just get another key and have 2-1 for door lock and other for charges or you can ask them to switch the names completely. We did have issues with one of our keys not working the entire trip (gave up after 6 attempts at new keys) when they supposedly switched the name completely. Our room steward didn't think that had anything to do with it but who knows. Next time I'm just going the additional key route.

  5. 1) We are looking into buying the 15 photo pixels package that includes digital pictures. Am I correct that's the only way to get digital copies on a non digital ship?

    2) Do they care which pictures I buy-do I need to be in them? We have a group traveling and thinking 15 photos is too many for any 1 cabin but between all of us would have no problems hitting the 15.

    3) Do the photos have to be 8 x 10-usually the embarkation ones are smaller?

    4) How does it work? I believe my mom had a folder at the desk she put her "maybes" into and then picked at the end of the cruise-that still how it works?

  6. We have a car rented for August but the ArriveCAN requirements are scaring us off a bit. We need to fill out ArriveCAN before boarding in Seattle saying we’re coming into Canada by sea….yet we’ll be coming in by land earlier. I’ve been told you cant fill it out for 2 stops. Please let me know if/what you find out if you go this route.

Celebrity has a bidding program to bid on better cabins.

    Does Carnival offer this?

We were offered a free cruise via their Casino Match program in an interior cabin.

The Miracle interiors are large & we are fine with them.

But we might consider an upgrade if the price was right since we only paid taxes & fees for our cruise.

Not a program but the do offer upgrades for a price closer to sail date. Watch your booking as they’ll pop up under your “things to do” but won’t necessarily notify you. We got upgrade from interior to balcony for $200 on a 7 day. No rhyme or reason to who gets the offers as far as I can tell.

Hi All.  I've only ever cruised out of the west coast before and I think a Southern Caribbean itinerary looks interesting.  We'd like to go in March for our anniversary.

The three Carnival ships that sail out there in that time frame are Spirit, Horizon, and Magic.

What do you all like/dislike about these ships, and what do you think I should know before choosing one?

    Thank you!

Assuming you are traveling adults only, I'd probably be the oddball to say Spirit. Less crowd/chaos/kids and probably cheaper than the other 2. Really I'd base it on the ports and price though as I don't think any of these ships would deter me.

Prices are super low right now, and me and the husband can go for under $1000.

Start: Seattle Cruise Tracy Arm Fjord Juneau Ketchikan Victoria End: Seattle , on the Spirit, 6 day. Plane tickets are gonna eat us alive but I figure we won't see prices like this again.

Anything particular I need to know about this cruise? Anything that makes you go ehhh I wouldn't do that? Or special circumstances?

We did the same/thought the same last year when cruising first started back up-thought it was a once in a lifetime deal at those rates tho so didn't pass it up. I was skeptical as I prefer my vacation $ to be spent to go warm places in the Winter-however was so great we book again this year with these great rates once again!

We had a cruise on hold two weeks ago and screwed up the pay by date, so we lost the deal.
now the rate is higher ($200), but also $30 more to do an early saver rate instead of the resident promo which does not offer price protection.
For those who have taken lots of cruises- is it worth the gamble to pay an extra $30 and keep an eye on the prices?

Couldn’t you do the early saver rate and immediately submit a form to get the $30 back? I’d find a PVP to work with and they can usually get you price drops as long as it’s not before final payment.

I don't think I'd be comfortable attending the Love and Marriage show with my child or parent, no matter the age 🙂

They do let kids in the live and marriage show. It’s listed as adult but every one I’ve been to they make an announcement saying kids can stay but be warned we don’t know what the answers will be and this is why they code it as “adult”.

Oooh we didn't see that last time we went to Skagway years ago.   What time of year did you visit?  I think it would be really neat to see.

Sorry didn’t see this. We were there 2nd week in august. Also check out hike to  Yakutia point right from ship.

For those that have taken this excursion from the ship, is there any difference between the 2 times that are available (11:00 AM or 1:00 PM)? The excursion says 3 hours. Do they have 2 boats or is the excursion actually only 2 hours? Would the 1:00 PM excursion possibly last longer?

I took a similar excursion from Juneau with Adventure Bound, but am a little confused about the timing and length of the excursion from the ship.

We were told the later one is better as its warmer and there would be more calving so we did the later one. We regretted our decision as we sort of back tracked a lot of the same tracks we'd already done with the cruise ship-only closer. Think of watching an amazing concert from the back row.....front row would be much better but would you really pay to see it again from the front if you already seen it from the back? both were the same amount of time.

This is my first cruise (third attempt since 2019). We were kicked off our cruise last month and onto another ship that visited Tracy Arm Fiord but no Skagway. We jumped ship to the Spirit a few weeks ago.

No shore excursions until maybe 5 days ago. They're not releasing all of them. Instead, it's drips and dabs of excursions added, maybe 8-10 ones a day (most days). They sure are taking their time.

This is disgusting having to wait for the excursions and fighting for them (I missed the luxury train trip in skagway because I didn't know your excursion is not yours until you pay for it. No notices about that anywhere. But this excursion magically disappeared out of my cart twice). So just a warning that you must book and pay for your excursion, or else it will disappear from your cart as well unless you pay for it.

My travel coordinator said she couldn't do anything about the missing excursions. I've gotten conflicting information from the shore excursion email group and calling them directly. This is completely unprofessional, and a huge issue that nobody is talking about or working very hard to rectify it.

My cruise friends have faith that carnival will transfer the excursions we had booked before to the new ship. That's not going to happen. Honestly, to limit shore excursion booking to their website is insane and this is the result of their disorganization. Carnival is not meeting my expectations at this point.

But good luck to you all in finding and booking your excursions. We're all in the same boat (literally), and I'm sure we're all not happy with the process. I wish carnival gave a darn.

My hunch is many Skagway ones are not yet released as they cross the boarder into Canada. They are waiting to release them to see if Canada changes their testing requirements. We are waiting to hear/book as we’d like to do one that crosses over into the Yukon via train and comes back via hiway.

Do you put the gift card on your account before you get on the ship?  Or do you have to wait until your on the ship?

You can buy up to $500 cruise cash per room on the website with gift cards prior to boarding. AARP has 10% off carnival gift cards as well.

  16. I've cruised mainly carnival, but have a cruise on the Encore scoped out for next January as I really want to hit St Thomas or St Martin in 7 days or less. Can anyone tell me what major differences to be prepared for? Specifically-anything I should budget for that isn't wrapped up in the "included" drink and dining packages? What deck is the "place to be" to be near the food/pool areas? Any rooms to avoid or try for (other than the obvious-I'll check whats above/near) Any strong opinions on the airfare thru NCL-it would probably save me a couple hundred-worth it? I feel so lost:)

Are you attaching a separate payment method for her?

I am not-same method-I just know when I go with my husband, the credit is split even though we use the same payment method. There its never an issue as we both have no problem going thru it in no time. My daughter on the other hand will have a hard time spending even the $100 I set her limit to (everything prepaid) based on prior cruises. I hope I didn't just jinx myself there!
