  1. I wanted to add, that we usually take out the beverage package, and have to pay gratuities... would not booking Concierge Level be a better choice?

Will we be able to get a similarly larger balcony as well, do you think?

    Thoughts and input...

    Thank you again..

  2. Hello all,

Just ready to book an A1 category stateroom, I found that they are clustered around the stairwell, elevators and The Hideaway or Card Room or other lounges.

What is the noise factor for these cabins? Anything to worry about?

Any one deck better than another in this regards?

Other comparable cabins to consider, if these can be a challenge late evenings/early mornings?

    TIA - bo1953

  3. Hello all, we are thinking of booking the 7 night W Caribbean out of FTL on 21Feb16. We wish a 2A cabin.

My question is, shall we wait a bit to see if any new inducements/specials come into play? For example, friends of ours received $50 p/p deposits, $200 OBC and drink package for their Veranda booking when they booked a month or two ago.

While I do not care about the reduced deposits, but the other items would be nice, and inducing me to book ASAP...

    Your thoughts, please.

  4. Does anyone know the penalty for cancelling a cruise w/ a popular TA advertised here on CC - on their website it says 50.00pp, which would mean I lose 200.00, unless I book another cruise. any ideas -

That is cheap, as I did not see the super 'fine print' from the TA I used which is $150 p/p in the event of any cancellation.

Needless to say, I will NOT be using them again, purely from the point that it was not discussed with me before plunking down the cash. I understand the need, to some degree, to charge something in case of a cancellation, but to not fully disclose at point/time of purchase is just not right. In my case it was almost 1/3 of the cruise price, which would not be covered by travel insurance, I do not think.

    good luck..

  5. What I prefer to do, in lieu of personally going to every DR/buffet or food venue I may choose to eat in, I usually send my personal runner to each place upon boarding to figure this out and make the appropriate arrangements before I ever arrive.

Sometimes I have them bring food back to the cabin, that way I Am not worrying about if something is 'safe' or not. There have been times when the pre-check did not work, but that is fine in the overall scheme of things.. it works like a charm 98% of the time though.

  6. We board LOS on 11 Dec 14, presuming we arrive at 10a and are on-board by 11.30a, can anyone advise if the Windjammer Cafe will have a full compliment on the buffet or will it be limited? What about getting a glass of wine with lunch at that time?

We will be waiting for the rest of our party to arrive and board, and then gain entrance to our cabin.

  7. ... abound now? I Am thinking of Azamara but read an independent review which put Oceania above Azamara, but upon reading the postings here my next venture will be Az..

But I wanted to find out if there were any updates or thoughts since it has been awhile since the last posting, that I need to consider or be aware of.

    TIA - bo1953

  8. All I can say is, MY former TA (I fired her after making my last payment) just suddenly discovered that my upcoming cruise is one of my first honeymoons. When I announced that we were planning on a luxury cruise mid-2015 all of a sudden she was interested in helping.

Of course I told her upfront that it was a honeymoon and of course I contacted RCCL to let them know about it because it was not on my reservation notes.

Customer service is this TA's weakest point or it could have been me with high expectations for service. Especially when I walk in off the street with knowing what I want, reservations for them to claim etc.. and I get this?

Sorry for the rant, but the thread lent itself to this for me for now!

    Happy sailing all...

  9. Hello all,

My spouse and I are now getting into cruising, albeit a little late in life, yet I wanted to find out which line/company has the 'best/generous' Past Passenger Program.

While we prefer vessels with less than 1k people, I will consider all lines for the perks.

I have tried reading up on the various programs, but really could not discern which ones leads the pack...

I tried to search for a discussion on this but could only find individual lines discussion. But feel free to point me in the right discussion if I over looked it.

    Thank you for your input/thoughts...

  10. Hello all, just wanted to find out about how much storage there is for luggage on Liberty Of The Seas. We are in cabin 7362 and will have at least three (3) pieces which includes one (1) carry on. The larger pieces are hard sided w/28" & 23" as the other pieces. Will there be enough room to store them in cabin??

    Thank you - bo1953

  11. Hello all - my plans have changed and instead of getting married in May and taking a Crystal cruise out of NY, we are getting married 21 June and are looking at the cruise on the Regatta on 27 June 14.

Not expecting the same level of service, but, we want to book a B1 or B2 cabin. We will take the premium beverage package. Anything else we need to consider around this as well?

My question is, which cabins are recommended on this ship? We would not prefer any obstruction of very little. As well, can anyone advise what the air credit is as we can possibly use ff miles r/t.

Any other recommendations as this will be the first time Oceania.

    TIA - bo1953
