  1. Totally agree. Can't stand smoke, no matter the source. If there is nothing that affects other passengers, then I have no opinion. But smoke? Not for us.
  2. Oh, I'm so sorry. We were on Divina and Mauricio was the manager of Le Muse there for our two recent sailings. We had servers Edgar and Onel for the two cruises and they both told us that they were looking forward to having our "leftover" lamb. We were happy to help them out.
  3. We usually talked it over with our server and the restaurant manager at dinner the night before. Sometimes they'd ask us at lunch about that night's dinner. I suspected that they were in the mood for lamb one of the times they suggested it to us for dinner. 🙂
  4. Sorry to hear about the engine issues affecting you but fortunately you're in better shape than most since you drove. Didn't Seaside have engine issues a year or two ago also? We're set to board 3 September so any info you can share is appreciated.

  6. We've never been charged because we're dining in YC. But we also don't ask for any special preparation that might be BCish. They source the meat from BC but prepare it YCish. Hope that makes sense. 😉
  7. We've pre-ordered off menu entrees in YC and they always come from BC. I especially love the BC lamb. The staff in the YC restaurant love when we special order the lamb too. Apparently, they ask BC for a large amount and then have a special meal themselves with whatever is left from cooking ours.
  8. Is it on a plate? Ours was in a bowl which did not let it spread out so far. Looks almost like breakfast oatmeal in your image -- well, except for the oyster. 🙂
  9. Just like traveling to Italy -- always bring your own wash cloths/face cloths, just in case.
  10. We have also seen some itineraries on non-YC ships that interest us. Do the suites on non-YC ships have butlers or other YC-ish benefits? I would think if they do, that would be a good reason to splurge on the suite.
  11. This is virtually our only true complaint about Yacht Club. Inevitably, I find a body part wedged into that gap -- multiple times a day/night. This, along with the double bathroom sinks, are what we miss from NCL's Haven. We're not going back to Haven, however. We look upon these 2 inconveniences as a not-so-bad reason for our holiday to end. LOL
  12. Do you mean Marriott Titanium? I am lifetime Marriott and they call my level Titanium. I matched to Diamond using it when we first joined MSC in 2018. Has the match for lifetime Marriott changed to only Silver now?
  13. We have always been pleasantly surprised when we are remembered. I think this is why many people continue to ask who is on each ship. I wonder if there would be some interest in having a thread here to keep track of our favorite YC folks?
  14. We are interested as well. We're on the Divina in November this year for the repositioning from Europe to North America. We're hoping that when we're on Seaside next month we'll be able to book the 2024 repo as well. Fingers crossed!
  15. Morph -- Enjoy another week in YC! We shall enjoy all you can share. 🙂
  16. I believe I applied before I booked, but that was back in 2018. Check the pinned discussed on status matches to see what is going on more recently.
  17. They match loyalty from hotels as well. Use your best. They matched my Marriott Titanium (lifetime) to Diamond.
  18. We are on Seaside in early September for the first time since 2018. Looking forward to hearing about your experience in YC. Enjoy!
  19. In YC you can request whatever you want. They will always try to accommodate. Don't worry about any menu at any venue -- just ask for what you want. They may not have it available without a bit of notice, but they will work with you. We had lamb chops and filets in the YC from Butcher's Cut several times that were delicious! (And they love to get those for you because they get extra for themselves to have as well.)
  20. Thanks! We never go to any shows but do usually interact with the YC Director and maitre d' in the Top Sail Lounge and YC restaurant and pool area. Always nice to have an idea of who to expect in YC. Thanks again!
  21. Thanks so much for providing so much great info about your holiday. Can you tell me more about Beni? We're on Seaside in early September and I don't recall seeing his name before. Is he a long time MSC YC Director?
  22. Sugar coat with your words, as usual -- there will be some of us who can guess your true meaning. LOL
  23. Lots of people say that they don't need a butler and wouldn't know what to do with one. But you have identified the whole butler role -- it's all about what the butler does for you without you asking. So glad that you had a great butler who anticipated so many of your needs. 🙂
  24. Morph -- Thrilled that we have a YC veteran to tell us about current conditions. Enjoy as much as possible and share as much as you feel comfortable! 😉
