Might be in hospital now! Hard to work from there. Each person has different reactions to covid19. We lost 6 friends and family members. It’s a terrible thing.🙏

So sorry. All the ones at work have come back so all good 🙂 Actually I have a coworker with other issues and they were working from their hospital bed lol 🙂

No I'm retired. I wanted to go to a party so I was testing every day from day 5 to 9. The party was on day 10.  As I was still positive I didn't go and stopped testing at day 9 as you needed two clear days testing .

Next time I tested was to fly a month later, I was negative then.

Ahh ok, probably too soon to test and that is why you kept getting positive results even if you were not.

“The collection” opposite the liquor store.  There are signs everywhere that remind people that video surveillance is in progress.  I don’t buy LV even when I can get employee discounts because the price is insane for a bag.  One tiny small bag is like 2 cruises 😂

Thanks. Yeah, I have bought LV items in Bermuda so duty free but I am sure they cost a lot. Still going to look 😉 lol

I was still testing positive on day 9, not sure if I was still contagious but this was Feb when the advice was five days and two negative tests or 10 days.

Now it's highly suggested you quarantine,  not mandatory

To go back to work? I thought you could still test positive for 3 months so they don't want you to test again so soon? I know a coworker who tested positive in December was not allowed to test again until March. They were allowed to come back to work but we were working from home at that time so they didn't lose any time in the office.

Just last week our PowerPump instructor a vibrant and healthy vaccinated late 40 years old has covid19! Out for some time!

It’s still a threat to our health. Double vaccinated and double boosted here!
Biggest concern is new grand daughter. being careful

. Plus wife stage 3 cancer survivor missing lymph nodes both sides.

    Plus over 65 years young!
We’re bringing our masks 😷 on cruise next week.

Plus covid19 test for use in room.

Heard about a lady yanked from room after getting covid19 onboard!

More than 5 days they were out? I don't know anyone anymore that misses work for more than 5 days which is the amount of time they suggest you take.

Doesn't help!  We're surrounded by it----most of our extended family has it now and we're 'lying low' this week to try and get a neg test before boarding this weekend.  The stress is real.

Hope they are ok but are they sick with what is more like a cold? Everyone I know who has had it recently were fine in a few days.

Cruising soon and bringing 6 covid19 test kits with us! They were giving em away at the YMCA recently. Senior center other options for free including us postal mail although those were missing liquid part, usa government at its finest!

Just so we know if we get it onboard? Recently a spike in cases April May in northeast USA!
Plus flu outbreaks 😷 so you can be sick but not covid19 and flu shot from November 2021 is fading in protection.
Double vaccinated and double booster too! Best we can do is hope for the best!🙏

Exactly, the rules are that you need to be vaccinated but who knows if these vaccines are even still efficient. They could be as efficient as someone unvaccinated who is not allowed to cruise.

If i was symptomatic of any of those  illnesses you mention, yes, I would get tested. The cruiselines dont want outbreaks so its in their interest to test symptomatic pax and thise whi've been in close contact. Strep throat is not nearly as contagious as Omicron and these new variants.

Would you do so on land? I can see on a cruise when you might not be able to avoid people.

That’s like saying if we don’t do mammograms, we wont see so much breast cancer?  I recall someone else using the mentality that “we need to stop testing” .

I appreciate when someone I’m around tests for cold symptoms. If they’re positive, I know to avoid them or if I’ve been around them, to test a few days later if symptomatic.

Have you tested for strep or the flu or anything else before Covid if someone you knew had it? We need to just stay home if you feel sick. This will be a virus that will always be around so we need to treat it like every other illness.

    True.

For me, some of the over-the-ear KN95's can get uncomfortable, but only after a couple of continuous hours. I can wear the head/neck strap ones with proper fit for many consecutive hours and forget I have them on.

I don't think the poster was speaking of a mask for covid or medical reasons lololol

I mean not that I saw when I was there on Freedom on Sat/Sun. I had to have 2 tests done because I was severely sick. They do not go far up into the nose either when you like they barely go into the nostril at all TBH.

So how do these people know they have covid? They test negative to get on the ship. Yes, rapid and PCR tests don't go all the way back.

I think that some ports still require them.  I just don't want to take a chance on them being required at any point of my vacation.  On land you can just check out and go somewhere else.  On a cruise you are stuck with their protocols.

Understood. I heard Bahamas is still requiring them but I have done research watching videos and there is almost no one walking around wearing them so they must not be very strict with their rules. Especially these ports that rely on tourists.

Except that protocols can be changed at any time.  Midway through a cruise masks can be required again.  Some ports may require masks.  Does not sound like the fun has returned with certainty.

I can't see that happening as most places, except for doctors and hospitals, don't require masks anymore. People are over it and enough is enough. Everything should be optional at this point.

I regard it as a necessary evil to move on with life.  I will never agree with how it was enforced and how any questions about the vaccines were handled on every social media platform.  Only reason I got them and the booster was for work and travel.  Do I worry about long term effects?  Sure.  But I cannot spend my life worrying about everything I do could cause me to grow a tail or horns 5 yrs down the road.  Its why I didn't worry about covid once info started trickling out and I witnessed people my age who got it.

It is only necessary for me right now to cruise. That is all. I have been fine the last 2 years without it so I really don't want it but we will see how this all comes about. No masking is a great step. Next should be no testing too 🙂
