  1.

There is the Mariner Of The Seas leaving Shanghai on 7 Oct 2016 which stops in Okinawa and ends in Singapore.

Perhaps you might want to consider this itinerary?

Thanks but those dates don't work for us and also we would've liked an Anthem class ship.

  2. It still shows on the website...... http://www.royalcaribbean.com/cruises/5NightBestOfTaiwanCruise-OV05I312?currencyCode=USD&sCruiseType=CO&sailDate=11%2F18%2F2016

So does the 23rd sailing http://www.royalcaribbean.com/cruises/7NightHongKongToSingaporeCruise-OV07I095?currencyCode=USD&sCruiseType=CO&sailDate=11%2F23%2F2016[/QUOT

The original cruise out of Tianjin is gone and the new alternatives don't work for us. Time to move on. Major bummer too as we were supposed to port in Okinowa which as a WW II history buff I wanted to see.

  3. The Ovation 18th November cruise has been cancelled, but are you sure she has been chartered? Ovation arrives in Hong Kong on 29th October and sails various itineraries until 23rd November when she repositions for Singapore. All of these are bookable through the RCCL website (US and UK). I was thinking of booking one and assumed it would be through RCCL and not a charter. Does anyone know how to check if it is a charter or not?

Well she certainly told me that it was chartered.

  4. Royal has charted this ship. Major bummer for us of course and all who booked it. We already have the air reserved on miles so the cost of putting the miles back in the bank will be 100% recovered but man we really liked this itinerary and ship. Well we just have to figure out what to do. Perhaps we can transfer a similar ship and itinerary further out. Time to look at schedules I guess.

  5. Looking at a last minute cruise in April for the partial transit on the Coral but it's for an inside cabin and a few people from hubbies work who have done it said a balcony is a must to get the best experience . What are your thoughts? It would cost almost $4000 for a balcony versus just under $2000 for an inside on carribe deck which we really like. Hubbies getting ready to retire in March and we want to be able to keep cruising twice a year but if we got the balcony this would be our only one this year, lol.

    Thanks I advance

No its not necessary and in fact we did have a balcony but found it preferable to move around the ship to see the PC from different vantage points. You are fine w/o it IMO. :)

  6. hi , we are on the previous cruise on the sapphire. Reading on here I think its something that happens, perhaps they hope there will be cancellations. you state your cruise is the 4th march, but we don't dock in Singapore until the 6th march?

This is correct as we are on the sailing 24th. Feb. and it returns on March 6th.

  7. I do the same thing. Turn on in free Wi-Fi connect zone to check email and never use the telephone. Easier than carrying tablet or some similar device while in port. My android also has a great camera which means we only carry one camera with us. Lightens the load while touring. :D The other method that some people do if you have an unlocked phone is to purchase a SIM card for the locale you are travelling through. We are considering doing this while we are in Australia if we can find one service provider that is available in the entire country as we will be on a circumnavigation cruise.

I did that when land vacationing in India. Much cheaper. :)

  8. We are on the 2/24 Sapphire out of Singapore but our last two cruises were on the Oasis of the Seas last Oct. and the NCL Getaway last May. I was surprised by the Getaway as this was our 1st NCL cruise. There were pros and cons but in a nutshell NCL has better entertainment but I give the nod to Princess for better food and service. What really surprised me was the response to their survey about the cruise. Mine was mostly positive though there were some problem areas. That same day they replied and gave us $300.00 OBC for a future cruise! Pretty impressive.

The Oasis blew us away for ship design and amenities. Service and food were on a par with Princess per our experience on 5 prior Princess cruises.

  9. My first cruise on Princess originated in Istanbul...It is a shame because it a fabulous city. However, I would not feel safe there now!

So true. We once took a cruise that began in IST and its a lovely city with great attractions which are mostly in one area and its fairly money friendly too. Its such a shame what is happening now.

  10. We have just returned from the Princess Sapphire cruise which included Pattaya/Bangkok. We used the ship's shuttle at $8 each way which drops you off at a hotel in Pattaya. We then caught a taxi to the Sanctuary of Truth and then to the big Buddha. The sanctuary of Truth was amazing, but the Buddha wasn't really worth going to. Other than these we couldn't really see anything else worth seeing and Pattaya itself was a bit of a dump.

Thats good to know. We will be on the Sapphire in Feb. and all we want to see is this temple and how to get there. Looks like I got my answer. Thanks!

Also are there cabs at the dock should we prefer this?

    Larry, :)

  11. To anyone wondering whether they can make early flights out of FLL after debarking Oasis, we were checked in, through security and waiting at our gate by 8:30 am. We did NOT walk off with our luggage, rather we had an early Departure Group number and collected our bags in the terminal. Everything was extremely well organized. That said, we were told that they would only call our Departure Group number only at 8:30 but it was called at 7:15

Did you cab it to FLL? I assume you did not use RCI transfers.

  12. I wanted to express my disappointment with a situation that occurred on Oasis of the Seas, Oct 31, 2015 sailing.

One of the TOP reasons we booked with RC was due to it's no-smoking policy on stateroom balconies and within their rooms. This is critical for me as I suffer from breathing problems. When we booked we ensured our stateroom was located far away from any public smoking area.

Problem is, despite RC's rule, a neighbour 3 to 4 balconies away smoked frequently on their balcony. I caught them smoking on two occasions, plus our corridor reeked of cigarette. These were btw, two Americans (heard them fighting/arguing a few times) so there was no language barrier.

As I was unable to enjoy sitting on my balcony due to the smoke, I contacted Guest Services several times to voice my concerns, I called as well and waited in line, on the phone for extended periods. At no point did I receive a follow up from anyone asking me if the problem persisted had been regulated. The problem was never regulated. I even asked to switch rooms but was denied as Guest Services said they were sold out, and no other rooms were available.

I am so disappointed with RC's lack of customer service, they were unable to help me. I filled out the survey they sent me, but I think I'd like to sent them an email addressing my concerns. Is there a point to this? If so, whom should I email.

    thanks

Calling their CS number was, for me terrible. I did call the Crown and Anchor number and the folks there were completely different. They listened. I also came into contact with the office below and was treated very well. Avoid there general CS line. Good luck! BTW this link is for the person who oversees all CS issues for RCI, Celebrity and Azamara. She is a pro!!
