  1. I would not say buying them in the Caribbean is any cheaper than buying them in the states. I think last time I was there I paid about 15 dollars a stick for the San Critobal De La Habana. However you do save on taxes.

  2. I cannot tell you if they are an "authorized" Cuban cigar dealer. I can tell you however the cigars I have purchased from the previously have been top quality. I personally feel the "authorized" thing is solely a marketing ploy as La Casa de la Habana is a large chain with multiple franchises.

Forgot to add, if you Google the or search for them on yelp you will find tons of excellent reviews. I can also tell you their humidor is well maintained and I did find several cigars with plume on them.

IMO San Cristobal de La Habana is a great cigar and will save you some money over Montecristo

  5. On my honeymoon cruise with my wife we were in the Casino almost every night. We did pretty good, what I won on the craps table she lost in the slots. One night we closed down the casino (last ones out), next morning we wake up and are getting ready to go on our excursion and cannot find our cash. Later that night went back to the casino and right before I am about to take cash out of the ATM the bartender tells me they found our money and to go to guest services. We got all our cash back. I did really good that night on the craps table and tiped the bartender that found the money $100. I am still greatful to this day for honest people.

Not a cruise but while in Jamica staying at a resort we found 5 women's bikinis in the dresser drawer. All of them were new with the tags still on them. I turned them into the front desk.

  6. ok so the freedom of the seas cruise out of San Juan says it leaves at 830...is a 3:58 arrival time too late? Other flights cost more than double for me that day and it is a nonstop fight with frontier that I am looking at!
I personally think you are cutting it way to close. If there is any kind of delay with your flight you run a serious risk of missing the ship.

I try to fly in at least one day before whenever possible.

  7. Mr. Mike,

Yes sir, the Summit does have a craps table. The action is completely dependent on how lively the cruise/casino is when you are sailing.

I believe on some cruises the minimum is $5.00, and on some cruises the minimum is $10.00.

I am not not sure about the odds on the pass line. Every time I have tried to learn how to play, my money runs out before I learn anything. :')

    Ed,

    Thank you for the reply.

Someone also told me that the waffles are really good and that if you aren't on my sailing that I might actually get to try them.

  8. I am not a huge gambler, but I do love the craps table. Does the casino on the Summit have a craps table? If the answer is yes can anyone describe the action on it, is it normally busy or slow? Are the dealers trying to keep the action moving at a fast pace? What is the minimum bet, and what are max odds on the pass line?

    TiA,

    Mike

  9. That's when you play that childhood game .... a little differently ...

Red Rover Red Rover I'm busting through .... :D

This is the reason that although my daughter is 15 we still push her around in a stroller the size of a suv. Clipping someone in the ankles with it really gets them to move out of the way.

  10. I’m peeved about all these peeves!!! My biggest peeve is peevish people pushing particuar pet peeves that don’t bother me because they are just things I do such as rushing onto elevators so I don’t miss it even if I have to body cross some geezer on a walker, and slamming my SR door so I know it’s properly closed!

If you don’t like that and you get ‘peeved’, get a life! we are all on vacation and I should do whatever I want to do. I mean, back home I have to follow all those stupid rules because I may offend someone I’ll see again, but on a cruise, who cares? I’ll never see any of these peevish prickly people possibly in perpetuity.

My person pet peeve is, I once asked the guy leaning on his balcony rail next to mine if he had a light - my cigar had gone out - he just ignored me until I yelled at him and asked him if he was a complete idiot....he then, and I can’t believe this, he then called security on me. Wow, what a peevish person!

    Denny,

Too funny and so true, I love your sarcasm.

  11. There's actually quite a lot to do and see right in the port area:

    * Shopping -- there are many upscale shops, as well as numerous souvenir vendors (reasonably priced, compared to other islands), in the blocks around the pier, as well as several malls

    * Wilhelmina Park (second and fourth photo below) -- is a serene spot a few blocks from the pier. There are a ton of iguanas wandering around (the park staff feeds them lettuce) and there are some lovely statues, such as the one below of Anne Frank

    * Beach -- there's also a beach within walking distance, which I think may be open to the public, but I'm not sure. Perhaps someone reading this thread will know

Hope that helps. - Musing About Cruising

All the beaches in Aruba are public.

  12. Asked the IT manager onboard Eclipse about this app rolling out to more ships. Requires MAJOR upgrades onboard. Ships will be added as they come out of dry dock. Will be several years before the entire fleet is covered.
I will be sailing on the Summit in November 2019, after the edgeification. Hopefully it will have messaging and work on the Summit by that point in time.
