  1. I just called! They said to call back 4 days in advance, it's only $40 per person!
  2. We live in Virginia, and the comparable 4 night Bermuda Carnival cruise out of Norfolk for 3 people Ocean View was $2400. The 5 night Disney out of Manhattan is $2700. I feel like this is a great deal!
  3. Thanks for your input! I was looking at some recent reviews on TripAdvisor and honestly, they weren't great... At this point we're actually looking into getting a room at the Pompano Beach club. They're closer to the pier and around $500 which we could potentially use for two days...
  4. Following. We also went on the Norwegian Joy this past May and are going again in October. This time though my son will be fully vaccinated so I am hoping they will let me upload his card and he won't need the $300 PCR test! His was also the only one we didn't get back automatically last time and we had to do the whole 4 hour total saga of being on hold...
  5. Has anyone done the Coco Reef Resort Day pass? Is it worth it? We've been to Bermuda 3 times before and have been all around the island and just want a relaxing and secluded activity to do with our 2 1/2 year old. Thanks!
  6. Hi all, Does anyone know if Disney is recognizing vaccinated children under five as far as exempting them from a PCR test? Antigen tests are so much cheaper but it appears that they haven't updated their policy yet. TIA!
  7. I totally agree, however my frustration is that they seem to not have the resources for the demand. When we went in May I had to call several times and wait several hours on the phone to get to a person. More than once I got to be 3rd or 4th in line and then got kicked off and had to call back and be 70th in line. Additionally, every email I sent was ignored and I never got a response. I'm hoping for our cruise in October they may have gotten their act together.
  8. Does anyone have any experience with a TA for vaccinated children under 11? Just want to confirm that they did accept the vaccination card and sent the TA on time with the adults. For background: we went to Bermuda in May before the vaccine was approved for children under 5 and we had to spend hours on hold because they did not send his TA with the adults in our group. They required a PCR test for that (which cost us $300 btw). There is still time to get him vaccinated prior to our October 16th cruise but am unsure if it is worth the trouble if they still treat children the same way, but may still be worth it is we can get a cheaper antigen test instead of PCR. TIA!
  9. Wahoos in St Georges! There was also a really nice Italian Bistro across from the Aquarium, I can't remember the name though. I've been to Bermuda three times and been all over the island, you'd never guess it but Bermudians love their Italian food and pizza!
  10. We just went on a Norwegian cruise out of Manhattan in May and can confirm that it was the worst boarding experience we have ever had. The best part about the terminal was actually the parking situation, very easy to get in and out and plenty of parking, aside from being expensive. That's where the good news ended. There were four separate lines, one for security, one for Bermuda travel documents, one for COVID tests, and one for check in. Everyone was crammed in like sardines, only about 1/3 were wearing masks despite a mask mandate being in place at that time. Each of the lines kept getting backed in to one another. I don't know where you can get a wheelchair if you need it, but you should be able to skip ahead to the front of the security line at least. We were able to skip ahead because we had a stroller. The whole process took about 2 1/2 hours. We got there about 10:00 and our arrival time was 9:30. We're looking into the Magic cruise in October out of Manhattan and we'll probably try to get there at 8:00. if we have to wait to get started so be it, I just want to be at the front of the line of people.
  11. It just occurred to me today while talking with a coworker going on a carnival ship, they may have released decks 1 and 2 recently as former quarantine decks
  12. It's too bad because I find it's such a safe and family friendly place! We just took our toddler there in May and it's the reason we're looking to go again so soon!
  13. It's the very tail end of hurricane season though, and we've done cruises to Bermuda then with calm seas. We live in Norfolk and the Carnival cruise leaving out of here at the same time is sold out and it was just as expensive as the Disney cruise.
  14. We are interested in the October 16th Magic cruise out of New York, and we are surprised at how many rooms are still available. Is this normal for Disney cruises during the school year? It looks to be only about half full. They wouldn't cancel a half empty cruise would they? We will most likely be booking a guaranteed cabin since it seems highly likely that an upgrade will be available. Also, is it possible that any price drops will occur at this point? Thanks!
  15. As of 5/29 no they were not. Boarding was a mess, I wrote a post about it after our Bermuda cruise
  16. I went to an out of pocket testing site, it was $150 for the 2 day turn around, but I shelled out $300 for an hour turn around time, just for piece of mind. I did contact my pediatrician and he said he would order one for us if we couldn't find a place who would test him. Rapid testing at the port and on board were paid for by Norwegian. I didn't trust that the mail would carry the at home test in time.
  17. This might be a dumb question, but considering that Disney caters to families with little ones... I assume the door to the balcony has a child lock high up where a toddler won't be able to reach and open it right? Maybe an irrational fear, but we just got back from a Norwegian cruise which was an inside cabin and I don't remember if I've ever noticed one on the balconies of our previous cruises. Thanks!
  18. We travelled recently with three adults (two having the free at sea 2 specialty meals option) and both times we used our dining credits they never charged for the third person!
  19. We loved hanging out on the waterfront and in the Observation lounge. There were hardly ever people in there except when they had snacks. Never a wait to get a drink. Also, people seemed to avoid the whiskey bar so we went there often for drinks, and they don't just have whiskey. Something I never heard mentioned is that, although you can't use the regular drink package at the Starbucks(es) you can use the Starbucks app!
  20. I did not eat vegan on this cruise but have been vegetarian in the past, and in every restaurant they asked as we sat down and ordered if we had any dietary restrictions. I would caution against eating any of the prepared food in the buffet because rarely is anything labeled with ingredients or allergens and the people serving usually have no idea what is in each dish.
  21. I think that's the "rule" but in practice I don't think the crew really want to be bothered with an upset guest. They also don't want to parse out who ordered what when charging a third guest without a dining plan
  22. If you are in Haven or a suite you should have a Nespresso machine, great perk!
  23. We ordered everything we wanted on the menu with no extra charges and they didn't even charge for the third person in our party who did not have a dining package or our toddler
  24. In addition to the fact that they ask if you want to use your free dining (which is practically unlimited orders per person), only two of us in our room technically had the dining package, however they never charged for the third person
