  1. What is the next step once this poll has run its course? How does it turn into something actionable?

Short of canceling a cruise and telling them the reason why I don't see how this poll will make any impact. OP is a smart person, perhaps she has a next step of the plan to communicate this.

I don't know that there is one single answer to that. I can point to several instances in recent history that customer complaints have led to changes on Carnival being walked back. So they do listen to some extent.

Can we change everything we don't like? Obviously not, but our hard earned dollars do give us the right to the opinion. After that, it's a matter of choosing your own next step.

  2. I will say that many of the changes such as no more tablecloths, chocolates, even the American Table don't upset me. This one does. It's not like it costs them any money or manpower to implement unlike some of the other things. It's a very simple solution that I hope they consider. And soon.

And family friendly pools don't upset me. I'm only saying that people should voice their opinions. Businesses like Carnival still need our dollars.

I do find it amusing that several people on here signing petitions and other forms of protest are the same ones who told me to go sail elsewhere.

  3. Uh, yeah, with the the number of times different corporations beg me for feedback and surveys every day, I think the cruise lines will be okay with people voicing their displeasure. They don't need you to stick up for them. And consumers don't have to just roll over and take their business elsewhere. Feedback and communication helps everyone.

You'll probably feel differently when they take away something *you* care about.

Thank you. That's exactly how I felt about telling Carnival how I feel about their new American Table set up. I get very tired of people saying "maybe you need to go elsewhere" over differing opinions. That is not the only option.

Carnival has in the past walked back changes they've made because people were unhappy.

  4. Nope, don't care. There are other places for adults on the ship. For a family cruise line they don't have nearly enough for kids to do and they get bored. Bored kids are obnoxious kids. Keep the little hellions busy and everybody is happy.

I'd much rather Carnival return to tablecloths in the MDR than worry about who's swimming where. ;)

  5. Just got off of her 3/25. The food and service in the MDR were top notch, so good we actually cancelled our steakhouse reservation.

Crew was excellent all around, comedy house was great, 2x a day cabin service! We love the Miracle!

Excellent! I wish we didn't have to wait for January. :)

However, it gives me time to pay for it!

  6. I see that you'll be on the Miracle in January. Get your list ready to note all of the complaints you will have on that ship:( Worst cruise I have ever experienced! The food, the service and the ship overall.

Really? This will be our 3rd trip on her. We love her and all of the Spirit class. I am disappointed that they have already swapped her over to the American Table......... which is really my only major complaint about Carnival and the Vista.

The rest of my comments were meant as "Don't be silent" or "Don't just accept". If you don't tell someone, it can't be corrected.

  7. He may get messages that are that self entitled, but I think most of them are trolls who purposely try to be obnoxious and antagonistic or are made up by one of his PR team. It's a 50 - 50 split between those two opinons.

I saw one recently that mentioned a thread from CC about the new diamond/platinum gift that was very ugly. It made it sound as if everyone on the thread was a self entitled jerk, and I know that's not how the actual topic went. Then, of course, everyone on the Heald page piles on because they have to be part of the pack. He once mentioned that he didn't like CC, and now according to his fan base, all of CC are EBIL. Vicious circle type stuff.

John himself gives out good info from time to time, especially when there are storms out and itinerary changes must be made. I don't read his page as much as I used to because of all of the made up drama though.

  8. As a point of info, the small buffet in the Ocean Plaza area is the Taste Bar, they are same place.

Also where they do the trivia contests during the day, and live music in the evenings.

Bonus: Just steps from the back entrance to the Red Frog Pub. ;)

  9. The old saying "You get what you pay for" applies. Carnival remains one of the most budget friendly cruise lines. If you want fancy white table cloths and Michelin quality chefs, check out Viking or Seabourn but be ready to shell out some serious dough! No cruise is perfect, figure out your nonnegotiables for the standards you expect and pick one that will deliver. If you keep picking the same brand and are expecting a different result, than you have no one to blame for that but you or your wallet.

Well sure, except that your snotty reply is invalid. Until this past cruise on the Carnival Vista, we've always received exemplary service, tablecloths, and wonderful food in the Main Dining Room. I paid more for that 6 day than I've paid for 8 day cruises on other ships. I expect a certain level of service no matter what line I sail and I do not like American Table. I have told Carnival I do not like it, and if others do not like it as well, I will tell them to tell Carnival. How else will we be heard? As you said, it's my money.
