  1. We just took it last week. Thanks to all the detailed posts as well as @VMax1700's photos we were able to find the stop and ticket kiosk. The more complicating detail for us was that we were docked at Terminal C which I had not previously read about. It is probably the most convenient terminal because it's right by the entrance, but because we were looking for the X80 stop it took a bit of running around. Terminal B is next to Terminal C. Theoretically we could have been stopped by the security going into the Terminal B area- my mom who was following us but did not plan on going to Athens was and told us about it later. We went through the parking lot and showed a picture of the kiosk to someone at the terminal who pointed in the direction of the bus stop. The bus stop is straight ahead from the main entrance of Terminal B, not to the left where the parking lot is and which leads to the gates. The bus was running about every 30min so even though we got there at 8.10 am, somehow we did not leave until closer to 9. We got off at the Acropolis with no problems and the driver pointed us in the direction to walk. On the way back, we had planned on looking for the stop at Syntagma square. However due to the heat, decided to use the same transit pass to get on the metro from Monastriaki to Piraeus and then the bus back to the terminal. We've done the walk before from the train station back to port on a previous trip, but had forgotten how long the walk was until we took the bus back this time.
  2. We just took this tour this past week. It was excellent! Booking through coop culture was the more challenging part. When we got there, we realized why this was the case. Our tour was for 10.30 am. On the ticket it says to get there 15 min ahead of time. On arrival, we joined the big group of people who were waiting for the English guided tour. A staff member looked at our tickets and then sent us to wait by another sign where there was no one waiting. Turns out group 1 was for 10.15 and did not include the underground. The tours start 15 min after the time that is listed. So we waited and at 10.30 am, still no one showed up for our tour. The staff member assured me that it was running. Sure enough just after 10.30, a whole tour group showed up with their guide to join our group of 4. They had exactly 21 pp to make up the group. For the tour or the underground, they were transferred to the Coop Culture guide who joined us just before 10.45. I felt so lucky to have been able to get our tickets when clearly the other 21 for the time slot were purchased by a 3rd party provider. I had followed tips I found in this forum for purchasing the tickets but in the end there is a bit of luck. The tickets were released at pretty much exactly 1 month before the day including the time. So I got the tickets on Tuesday June 7 at 4.30 EST for July 7 at 10.30 am Rome time.
  3. We just got back from our cruise and wanted to follow up on our experience after deciding to go ahead and book with the company. They were great!! All communication was easy and quick through WhatsApp. I booked both the transfer to Civitavecchia as well as the return ahead of time. I was able to message them the day before each transfer to confirm details of the driver who would be picking up. The driver was always early, and at pick up on disembarking could easily be found by the ship. The cost was very reasonable- less than the other sites I found, 120E each way (for 2 adults + 2 kids but we did not have a lot of luggage so fit in a sedan). For the return, I had to prepay a 50 E deposit and the balance the day of. I had booked them because the other recommended transfer companies were all booked up for the dates and found this company through an old cc thread. Everything went so well, that I booked the company for a transfer to the airport when leaving Rome.
  4. I just purchased this online and it seems that they send you a voucher to pick tickets up at the ticket office. Would this be the same line to purchase tickets? (which makes it not truly a skip the line option) I was hoping to take the X80 and get off at the acropolis stop. I was reading this is a different entrance than the main entrance- is there a ticket office there to pick up?
  5. This is so helpful! Thinking of doing the same if our transfer doesn’t work out. Did you ask for the cab driver to drop you off at a particular entrance of termini station as I understand the regional trains are in a part of the station which is further away? Did you buy the train tickets when you got there? How much was the taxi from Civitavecchia station to the port and did it take you all the way to the ship?
  6. Rome cabs is not available for transfers the days we need to get to port. I found Rome shuttle limousine on an old thread. Has anyone used them and what was the experience like. Just want to make sure they are reliable. Thanks!
  7. Thank you! I just checked their website and it seems that day isn't available as well. It must be a busy transfer day throughout the city that day.
  8. I just contacted Rome cabs for our cruise next week June 27 and they are not available. I'm traveling with my mom and kids so wanted to simplify things by taking a transfer rather than the train. Rome cabs suggested Viator in their response email and it doesn't look like there is availability there either. What are other alternative transfers I can look into. Thanks!
