We are 2 seniors in our late 60s with Medicare and AARP United Healthcare.
We will be leaving NJ, taking 2 flights to Fairbanks. Then 3 nights in Fairbanks before beginning our cruisetour with Princess. We have 6 days land then 7 days at sea to Vancouver. We will be in Vancouver 3 nights before taking 2 flights back to NJ.
We currently have Allianz insurance though Alaska Air for the air portion of the trip. Wondering if we should take the insurance Princess offers, or if there is a better plan that will cover our entire trip - air/land/sea/land/air because of the extra days at beginning and end.

I think NJ schools may be closed that week for Presidents Week. Lots of kids onboard that week.
They can only sell so many cabins with 3 persons, guessing they are figuring if they sell the rest of their open cabins with 2 persons they will be at capacity.
Life boats etc.
NYC schools are closed that week. With the return of kids sail free, they are probably at capacity.

Yes. We had the rapid NAAT done at Walgreens before sailing on Anthem last month.

The refund could take up to 30 business days. Or in other words about 3 weeks after the cruise ended.
I have always received my cruise planner refunds within a day or two. And if it was a purchase paid for with OBC, the refunded OBC appeared within minutes.

This is happening on our Ovation of the Seas May 13 sailing and I booked the Key back in June last year. I got this mostly for the internet, priority check-in, specialty dining on 1st day, and special times for shows/on board activities. In that order, but to offer $50 OBC for - when the internet alone is costing $133 (for the "cheaper" non stream version 1 device 1 person) is crazy. It is what it is..
How much per day did you pay for The Key? Remember you are getting back that amount plus the $50 per person OBC.

They had the Keys for years now, what needs to be reevaluated at this point?
I don't know, Jimbo. Here's where the letter is posted.

Someone else posted about this happening on a different ship/sailing. They are reevaluating the program. According to the letter they posted, the OBC is $50 PER PERSON. That seems pretty fair to me.

RCCL must be looking to fill the balcony cabins on the Anthem 11 night TA leaving next week. I just priced it out and look at how low the cost is. (price is for 2 senior citizens, PA residents, C&A members)

The Royal link showed sold out but in the actual Optum Store they had them in stock. But I have to pay shipping. Fine
We ordered a 3 pack for $99. Shipping is free if the order is more than $75. We wanted an extra test in case something went wrong with one of them.

Complimentary coffee and tea, iced tea, lemonade, fruit punch and regular juices. These are available in the MDR, Windjammer, Promenade Cafe, Cafe@270, Solarium Bistro. We have no complaints about their regular coffee.
Additional cost is if you want latte, etc, and fresh squeezed juice.

Curious -
Did RCCL or your TA send you any notification of the change?
Did you not see the different cabin numbers on your set sail passes? (Knowing that many folks were having their rooms changed prior to sailing, I was checking our account every day.)

Can I ask what time your check in was and what time this picture was taken? I am going in a couple of weeks and I have 11am check in and am in a Junior suite. I hope we don’t have to wait on such long lines. My husband can’t stand for long. We have requested wheelchair assistance but On our last cruise we couldn’t get help until after we checked in.
I am really looking foward to following along on your trip. Enjoy!
we had 11 o’clock check in. No lines at all. Dropped off luggage, parked car, breezed through security and check in. Total time from luggage drop to ship was about 15 minutes.- 2

This will be our first time sailing on Royal Caribbean. Are all of the cabin doors magnetic? Our family will be on Mariner of the Seas in six different cabins (same deck), and would be nice to have something on the door so people can find each other.
Yes, the doors are all magnetic. So are the cabin walls. I bring magnetic hooks and clips with me.

If you booked thru Costco, you are not eligible for Royal Up. They don't participate.

Hi again. I've read all the responses. Thank you for the feedback. Like I said. When I initially booked this cruise in November of 2019 Covid wasn't around. If it were I would not have booked a cruise. Royal has canceled 2 cruises on me so far due to Covid. At this point I just want a refund. I'm not trying to turn this into a Vaccination debate, I just wanted to know what my options were. Seems like I have 2. Pay the final payment, and wait for them to extend the Vaccine requirement for cruises past April 14th. (We're scheduled to sail on 4/17) and request a refund.
or
Take another FCC extend it until the end of the year and hope the vaccine requirements go away by then. Or leave the kids home.
When Royal canceled your cruises weren't you offered the option of a full refund or a FCC?

I thought businesses were allowed to ask what service the dog was trained to perform?
15 minutes ago, Lane Hog said:Nope. That's essentially asking what the person's disability is.
Poocher is correct. From the ADA Requirements: Service Animals https://www.ada.gov/service_animals_2010.htm
- When it is not obvious what service an animal provides, only limited inquiries are allowed. Staff may ask two questions: (1) is the dog a service animal required because of a disability, and (2) what work or task has the dog been trained to perform. Staff cannot ask about the person’s disability, require medical documentation, require a special identification card or training documentation for the dog, or ask that the dog demonstrate its ability to perform the work or task.

We try to disconnect as much as possible when cruising. We get voom for 1 device and share it. DH and I use it to check e-mail, browse/post facebook, etc. We don't get the stream because we don't watch videos.

Did they say when this will happen?

Quick question, I just booked two days ago for a March 20th cruise on Anthem. I went straight to the RoyalUp site to make a bid on a higher category. I am well versed in bidding on upgrades on Celebrity and anticipated the same process on Royal. Since inventory is pretty low, (looks like only 3 suites are available), my assumption is that Royal is not allowing anyone else to bid? Currently in a J4. Thanks
We're on that sailing. We're in a 2C and have 2 bids pending.

@Peak city Probably totally unrelated to eDocs, but also noticed that all March sailings on Anthem are gone from the website.
Last week our sailing disappeared for a day and then reappeared. And only for some folks. Right now I can see 3 March sailings - 3/13, 3/20, and 3/27, I don't know what they do in the RCI IT department.
Vancouver tours with airport drop off
in Canada (Alaska/Pacific Coastal)
Posted
We are sailing from Alaska to Vancouver in late May on Princess. Looking for recommendations for tours that will pick us up at the cruise terminal and drop us off at the airport. We looked at the HOHO tour, but the reviews are not good.
Currently we are scheduled on a 4:30 pm flight, but have the option to change it to a 8:15 pm flight.
