You get $35 per person credit. You order anything you want. If the total of everything you get is under $70 (for 2) then you owe nothing else. If it's over, they charge you the difference. We paid an additional $4.00 last time.

Alaska is all about the itinerary … not the ship. I would suggest you concentrate on the itinerary and insure you get to stop at Skagway, Ketchikan and Juneau.
That is what works, and is a priority for you. We love the ships and the ship amenities. We enjoy the quiet of Alaska and cruising when you can still see the landscape at midnight. You can still walk on a glacier, take a train trip, ride a tram, go whale watching and eat crab when you go on ships like Ovation. It's all a lovely, wonderful vacation.

Came across this today while doing some research. After 5 years I get to cross this off my bucket list!!!
IT'S FINALLY HERE! We are sailing in 2 weeks on Ovation to Alaska. I saw in early August on social media a picture of the Northern lights from The Ovation of the Seas. Not holding my breath but fingers are crossed!!!
The only problem you may have is that the moon will be near full. It is my understanding that the only real time to see it is when the it is a new moon and the sky is dark. I just saw info on this site: https://www.gi.alaska.edu/monitors/aurora-forecast
It is information from the university of Fairbanks. I have my fingers crossed for you all. We are on Ovation starting Friday.

Stick with Carnival.....they don't screw with the clock like RCCL.
Seriously? I have been on several Carnival cruises where we have changed the clocks.

This is what I am worried about. Reservations are open to book if you don’t have the unlimited package so what times are going to be left when you board. Not sure why RCCL does it this way and not have reservations open to everyone.
The reason is, those that booked online paid full price for their meal. You are giving up that first choice of times for paying considerably less. If you want specific places at certain times, you can do that by paying full price.

Oh please don't be late getting into Juneau! We have a 12:30 excursion booked and now I will stress for the next 24 or so days.
Don't stress over it. The tour is not going anywhere until the ship gets there.

Got this one on Amazon : https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01IAXYPE0/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Works very well. Has an alarm. Battery operated. Always lit so you can see it night and day.

Ultimately I was informed that I likely wasn't going to find what I was looking for, which was opinions from all sides of the cruise experience, including being people being injured.
I don't believe that is what you were looking for. You wanted someone to tell you how to get a bunch of money and no opinions as you state. At least be honest about that instead of playing a martyr.
I thought xpcdoojk asked legit questions. You don't like the "perceived" tone. These are just words. Read them again and take out the attitude and there is a lot of good info and logic in the responses.

Someone said "I don't know what you expect them to do from a phone call"? This brain trust is suggesting what that I send smoke signals? The call is to make them aware that there is a problem and they know our cabin and know who the cabin steward is and they will start an investigation.,
yes, but you inferred they (RCL) did not take you seriously and let me talk to the boss. You didn't say you just wanted to make them aware.
Anytime you let someone into your space, plumber, cleaning person, grand children even, lock that stuff up....

My husband contacted Royal Caribbean and the call was less than satisfactory and she said they would look into it. When my husband asked to be connected to the CEO he was told he couldn't be reached by phone???? Be warned take any medication and lock it up in your safe. Wish we would have done that. It's disappointing that you can't count on the cabin being safe while you are out of it. I am very disgusted with Royal Caribbean We are Diamond Plus but this unfortunately left us with a different opinion of the company since this theft.
Not sure what you expect them to do on just a phone call. They would have to complete some sort of investigation first. In law enforcement we just don't arrest someone on the complainant's word and no, you can't just talk to the Chief of Police because you want resolution now.
You are judging an entire company on the actions of one......

1 mile equals 5,280 FEET. This excursion is ,1,281 YARDS, so multiply by 3 which equals 3,843 FEET which is about 3/4 as someone noted above.
So, where ever it goes, can you walk 3/4 of a mile over some hilly terrain.

Here is a link to the scooter similar to what my husband had after shattering his ankle in a skydiving accident.
https://www.amazon.com/Evolution-Steerable-Mobility-Crutches-Alternative/dp/B00EUB6VZI
You sit on it and your leg is supported in the front. It folds up for easy movement and they are light weight. We still have ours and several of our friends have had occasion to use it. If you were need Seattle I would loan it to you!
Edit: I found a site where you can rent it for $25 a week!

Just Google Oasis 12638 and you will get pics and a decent video. Also go to cruisedeckplans.com and search there.

No it was not. You can find any ship itineraries on Shipmate.
Gee, then help them out....
OP: Shipmate shows Dubai, 5 ports in Egypt then Spain. This was for the 15 day Westbound Suez Canal on April 15, 2013

I did a google search and came up with a tons of images. Here is the link. Hope this helps.

Can you change the person you're going with? It seems to be an amazing cruise, one not to miss. I know it sounds sort of glib, and please don't take it that way but I will travel with you..... 60y/o female but like to have fun. We have all had our heart broken more than once unfortunately. :(

I just (3 minutes ago) made an order for our Sept 2019 Ovation cruise. I used Microsoft edge. Not sure if it matters but I use Edge only for Rccl. I have it set so when I close the browser, the cache and cookies are cleared each time.
The order processed on the first try without issue. Good luck!

I like/respect MM.
Just tired of being told you can't write with tone.
We are saying the same thing! I was sticking up for her with the other poster who was complaining about how she "said" things. How they called her arrogant and sarcastic. I call it matter of fact based on her experience, like I respect what you say about cruising based on your way more vast experience.
The person I called out appeared to know nothing of her yet was willing to make derogatory comments.

Yes, don't let these rules followers get in the way of your wife enjoying her cruise.
California dealt, for decades, with the Mediterranean Fruit Fly that came in from out of country fruit. Costs billions to eradicate and tons of food was destroyed. So just an orange or tomato to us but maybe an entire economy to another country. A wrapped candy bar is just as doable for a diabetic.

Yep, we all gotta join a thread sometime. Didn't realize you had to be invited.
I like to stick up for the down trodden.
Just like I was sticking up for someone that was being called a shill for Royal. Apparently that was okay with you.

English may not be my strong suit, but I can Google
In written composition, tone is often defined as what the author (rather than the reader) feels about the subject. (What the reader feels about it, by contrast, is referred to as the mood.) Tone is also sometimes confused with voice, which can be explained as the author's personality expressed in writing.
Laura says I have tone. Apparently that is bad.
Really? You Googled that so you could make a comment in a string you were not a part of? Figure out what my mood/tone might be now.......
Carole, I tried. I like your writing style, the content and your continuing contributions. Thank you.

Alaska in sep on Oasis —with kids
in Royal Caribbean International

added info
Do you mean Ovation? Oasis doesn't do Alaska. Ovation and Oasis are very different, but there are still a lot of things to keep the kids busy as well as an inside pool. Folks assume Alaska means super cold and snow, but the weather is usually quite pleasant. We have been in May and September and both have been lovely with light coats for the most part.
Coupon books don't exist anymore. Items are loaded onto your sea pass card. Not sure what they offer for gold members. You do have to ask for the coupons to be applied to purchases. They are not automatically used.
BTW, I would suggest earlier than Sept if you can. We thought the views were better before the snow melted and the waterfalls started drying up.
