  1. You say it's not right 1 person can stand in line for multiple guests...why not? Where is this written? Will you say the same for families reserving pool chairs for HOURS with towels?
  2. So why were "words exchanged" and by who? You are very vague on that point and don't really answer my question
  3. Question......can 1 person stand in line if you have a group of 6? Not like the folks hogging chairs by the pool all day but if the other 5 get there just before it opens.....
  4. Not sure what site I was looking at but this is MUCH better. We'll be taking the train instead of a bus now! THANKS!!! 🙂
  5. All good advice. FYI if the ship does make the decision to leave you they will give the Port Agent your passport if it is in your safe or the ship had possession of it. Then it's up to you to get to the next port or back to the home port at your own expense. I was crew and watched that passport hand over multiple times.
  6. I have a great app on my phone called GPS My City that gives walking tours! London has 13 to choose from so I could do the city bus and still have commentary!
  7. Update:They arrived at the airport at 4:00pm and the ship waited until 6:30pm but the NCL ground transportation told them they couldn't get them to the ship on time (a 30 min drive)
  8. This is from a friend. I am shocked NCL is saying they won't protect the customers they booked!!! "Cannot believe this. My son is on the Breakaway, which left today. His friend had airfare through NCL and he was delayed. The ship left rather than waiting for him and the 23 other people. They are telling him that he has to find his own way to Costa Maya and if he doesn’t go, that he will forfeit the fare he has paid. They said since he didn’t buy the travel insurance that they do not have to do anything for him. I was like, they booked the airfare. And he had wanted to come in yesterday, when Michael came in, but they screwed it up." We are all currently booked on future NCL cruises but this will make me rethink that if NCL doesn't step up and correct this!!! (And I asked...he did not use a travel agent)
  9. Thanks for asking! We are staying in Shepherds Bush near Victoria. Will be good to know.
  10. Do you think you could do both in one day and still explore the city? THANKS!
  11. There appears to be 4 different Hop On/Hop Off bus companies in London (TootBus, Big B, Golden Tours and SightSeeing London) Does anyone have any preference to them? We are looking at booking the 3 Day Pass in July (Sorry, tried to do a search and couldn't find info)
  12. We are in Bergen in July and deciding between booking NCL's excursion or doing the Hop On/Hop Off bus and buying our own ticket for the funicular. I am worried by the description on NCL that the "Guide" just walks you past everything instead of really visiting. Has anyone done the NCL tour and would you recommend just doing the HOHO bus instead so you can move at your own pace? For the price it's about the same.
  13. The other tip I have is always check to see how many other ships are in port with you. This will tell you how busy attractions will be.
  14. GREAT POINT! The description on NCL's website says they "pass" this and "pass" that with a guide. But if they are just walking by as they tell me something the HOHO busses will give just as much info and I can stop anywhere and stay as long as I want without being tied to a group and then trying to make it back to something I want to see more of.
  15. What is the website to book the train? The train I saw was much more expensive...I may have been on the wrong website.
  16. Looking for other LGBTQIA++ on the cruise. It's my 60th birthday celebration. Going with my husband of 30 years and other friends.
  17. I have a feeling this is RCCL "hoping" the Ukraine war is over by 2024 and hedging their bets. It's a lot easier to cancel an itinerary later than to book with short notice. Having said that I would avoid ANY Russia travel on any ship or tour EVER!!! One wrong look and you are in prison for life!
  18. We are on NCL in July and have discounts for the Bergen on Foot & Funicular tour. But would it be better to do the Hop On/Hop Off bus on our own? We are there 9:00am-4:00pm. Or do you have other suggestions? Thanks
  19. I think I agree....one shuttle to a train to save a few bucks doesn't make sense when it's one shuttle to the same place you're going. Thanks
  20. If it's not scenic I'll just be on my wifi so no loss!!!
  21. Think I'll be taking the bus!!!! Much more reasonable and I can save the money for the bartender! National Express
  22. Looking at best way to do Zeebrugge (the ship port) to Brugge and back. Shuttle is only $25 r/t and nonstop. I know local transport, train can be fun but I worry about crazy train schedules etc. What was your experience getting into town and back to the ship and what do you recommend? We are great local travelers but also hate taking chances or wasting time when it's not worth it.
  23. Sadly this is an issue on MOST ships located directly around the theatres. It's always something to be aware of when booking.
  24. I'm cruising to Iceland from London. Won't be in the airport until we leave.
  25. We sail from Southampton and sail Norway to Iceland. We are staying 4 nights in Reykjavik after the cruise. Reading how expensive drinks are in Iceland would it be best to buy Duty Free booze on the cruise to drink in Reykjavik?? Yes, we are drinkers and enjoy our cocktails....we upgraded our onboard package already to get the BEST of the best
