Location schmocation , it’s the quality of the cocktail that matters. Proof reminds me of your typical dive bar with karaoke and canned music . I am a man of simple pleasures, a perfectly mixed bourbon old fashioned or vodka gimlet is available at gadsbys, while some kind of thrown together cocktail at is available at proof. Add to that the the classic hotel bar feel with great live music I think you will find Gadsbys to be the best choice. Unless you are the dive bar type

By far Gadsbys the bartender Rico and his team are the best. Treat him right and see what happens. Just give him an Ooh la la from Don and family

Getting ready for our Aug 4th cruise, I was interested to see if there were any changes to the included alcohol list. Strangely my search for such a list was fruitless. The link on My Plans in the app for additional information did not work, so on to NCL’ web site to check out the free at sea link , but no list is available. Did a search of the website to no avail. Is it possible that the availability is so unreliable that no list is being produced. What do you think?

We, wife and I are flying from Raleigh, NC to Tromso Norway , and returning from Reykjavik, leaving on Aug 1 returning on Aug 15. I checked prices today, the round trip cost for two $7530.00 a far cry from the $1381.00 We paid for NCL air. This is the third time I have used NCL air, thus far no problem.

Cruised on the Epic in Jan. And enjoyed a rotational menu , including a variety of apps, soups and entrees. Saw a post where a cruiser on the Star seemed to indicate that a menu as presented in the Viva was now present on the Star. I would find this disappointing, as there are few entrees on the fixed menu my wife and I would enjoy.

We are among the tippers, over the course of a seven day cruise we may tip bartenders and servers an additional hundred dollars, but when we sat at a table our drinks were not far behind, when at the bar glasses were seldom empty. We have family in the service industry, and know how much this extra helps them.

Will be on Star for August 4 Norway Iceland with grandchildren 15 & 17 . Will they be able to use the fitness center on their own, or will an adult need to be present?

Just off on Jan 29, sadly the quantity and quality of entertainment on Epic was not epic. One production , Burn the Floor, then game shows and a singer or two. Two nights of Beatles, but at full capacity you need to line up an hour or more if lucky enough to be seated. Unfortunately for wife and I , one an octogenarian and the other nearly so our legs would not support us for the wait. Entertainment in Maltings and Shakers was ok, but all they know is loud, forget conversation when performing.

It seems the menu at Le Bistro has changed. Was counting on shrimp and scallop plate. But poof it is now gone. Things are getting disappointing, certain boozes are removed from drink program, dishes are removed from menus and up charges are added to menu items. I realize the cruise contract covers these changes, but when I entered into this contract things were different. And it is disappointing.
