  1. Ok, for those who voted on either the gray or grey status in the poll, indoor masking would be required.  So I’m confused why so many voted for that option?

Here’s a quote from @Ourusualbeach, quoting @chengkp75 in CLIA vs CDC thread, post 38. (Sorry I tried but unable t make a link for just that one post.).   So copy and paste it is:

“ ….  Opting out means they have to follow Federal government guidelines that class them as general transportation and mask must be worn indoors at all times.

Here's a quote from chengkp75 on another thread

"Apparently, the CDC has informed cruise line executives that if they opt out of the voluntary CSO program, by eliminating mask mandates, they will fall into the category of "general transportation", which is covered by an Executive Order, in place since last February, that covers all ships, of all types, of all nations, that wish to enter the US.  While this order does not require testing or vaccination, and specifically says it does not take into account the vaccination status, it does require masks at all times when indoors (except in cabin). “

I'm confused. Is it grey or gray?

    either or

What is the difference between grey and gray?

Gray and grey are both common spellings of the color between black and white. Gray is more frequent in American English, whereas grey is more common in British English. ... Of the two, gray occurs more frequently in American English, while grey has historically been the spelling preferred by British English publications.

Numbers that make a lot of sense. Hopefully within 6 months we can put a lot of it in our rear view mirror

Then I don’t understand what grey status is (opted out).     Does that mean still have to comply with masking - or does it mean free of any restrictions?  I thought at one time Chief said cruise ships without CDC plan would have to comply with the restrictions for other maritime vessels.   @chengkp75 ?

Hello all. I'm going on the liberty out of Galveston this May with a bunch of family. My uncle has a birthday that week. Is there a way to celebrate that on the ship as a group?

How many people in the group?  A couple ideas we have done, based on the family size and budget.

    1.  Book a meal together (lunch on sea days, or dinner) (even Johnny Rockets if lots of kids).

    2. Bring decorations from the dollar store to hang in cabin.

    3. Buy cupcakes from Liberty’s cupcake shop to celebrate together in the cabin, or elsewhere on the ship where you can round up family.

    4.  Same as other suggestions … waiters bring cake at the table for dinner

Liberty still has a game room with tables and chairs.  We used it a lot with last multi- family spring break cruise,   Perfect place to get family together with cupcakes and celebrate!

Omicron is now just a bad cold. Not even a Flu. I know because half my family has it right now and yet im still negative and likely totally immune to it. Its no longer a respiratory infection its more like a throat infection as most times there isnt even a cough.

Even the nut cases will eventually come around to the fact that its just a cold now….

@Pandamonia, all cases are not comparable to your family’s cases.   Hopefully you won’t catch it!   Part of my extended family in other states had mild cases such as you describe.

The current cases in our household are definitely flu-like, with much coughing.  Could we have CoVid along with the flu?  Maybe.  It’s possible you are right, and we have a strain other than Omicron.

I have to say I am thankful to have caught this at home,  where I can wrap up in a hoodie and blanket and make hot tea whenever I want.   Having had fever and chills for 3 days, I would not be comfortable in an isolation room on a Caribbean cruise with just summer clothes packed.

now that I have had “it”, I am really looking forward to my next cruise, where I can freely enjoy the cruise!

Hope everyone stays well, and has mild cases like @Pandamonia describes.

Hi, does anyone know if they will let members of your party (same stateroom) check in separately at the port? Half of our party is already there, and the other half is on a delayed flight. We'd love for them to not have to wait for us. Thanks in advance!

As long as at least one is 21 or over, no problem.

Got up this morning to 8 emails about cancelled prepurchases.  Then I logged into my account and my cruise # no longer exists.  Its still listed with my travel agent.  The cruise itself is still going. The people we are linked to are still listed.  I am so incredibly angry.  No one asked for a cancellation.  I have been waiting on the trip for 3 years!!!!!!

I am calling corporate after 8 am.  Already emailed and called my travel agent.  Heads are getting ready to roll.

    Good luck!!

Edit:  Noticed you had a March 5 cruise booked in your previous posts.

Question -   Did your TA pay final - that would have been due I think yesterday (30 days).    Could it be Royal canceled for non-payment?.  I hope you can get the cruise back !!

…, i was exposed for 4 hours total and 90 mins in the car with someone who tested positive that same night after they started aching and coughing. Both me and my partner are not positive or sick and we are 36 hours later so far. 2 vax and no booster over 5 months ago. If i dont get sick after that then im never going to get it.

Currently going through it.  Don’t think 36 hours is enough to suggest  you won’t get it.   DD was exposed like you - took her 5 days for symptoms, and didn’t test positive until day 7.   I didn’t have symptoms from her exposure for 7 days, and tested positive day 8.  And we live in same house.
