Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Cape Horn was a big deal for me. Eliminating it to save six-hours benefited some passengers but not all as many expected it as part of our itinerary. It wasn’t a matter of safety or necessity. It seems that it was a matter of efficiency. Not everyone onboard is doing a B2B hoping the Captain will sail by Cape Horn next time. While at the Customer Service Desk late this morning for an unrelated matter, there were several people in the Elite’s line who were there to voice their frustrations about this sudden and unexpected omission. This Captain has made several decisions that have been less than admirable.
  2. Ken the cruiser, we’re also in an aft facing cabin on this cruise. As for whether my DW and I will check the Antarctica box as a place visited, we absolutely will. Sailing in and around Antarctica four-days is much longer than running through an airport to catch my next flight. Although, if I connect at CDG while heading to Barcelona, I will claim that I touched my feet in Paris but I didn’t “visit” Paris. My business trips are typically less than four days; our time sailing around and visiting Antarctica will be far greater. Perception is one’s own reality, so I’m checking the box! Let’s hope for fair winds and flowing seas!
  3. Below is an email response from Stockperks that I received after complaining, via their app., for a failed connection to my account: Hi Larry - sorry you're experiencing this. Periodically we have data feed issues from Plaid (which connects us to your brokerage). The second way we can validate your ownership is by uploading an image of your portfolio through the app as follows: Select profile (bottom right of the app screen) Select portfolio Select log out / Disconnect your current broker Then select validate portfolio (button should be top of screen) You’ll then see a range of options (Plaid, Fidelity, Alinea, European, Asia Pacific) You can select Fidelity (as a workaround) Then follow the steps to upload an image of your brokerage statement Have a print out of a recent brokerage statement showing: - your name - the brokerage - the date - how many CCL shares you have and you can black out / redact any other details you don't want to share. Then take a picture of it. When the app asks you to upload a picture, select "Open Gallery" and find the picture of your portfolio, then hit submit and you'll be done. We'll then validate your ownership and you'll receive an email when that's done at which point you can proceed with claiming your onboard credit. Here's a video you can watch of the process as well: https://youtu.be/sGyuFPulpJs Sorry for the extra work here. Hopefully this helps. If you're still having an issue, please let me know and we'll get things sorted out. Kind regards
  4. When you used the Roku to stream, did you connect your Roku directly to the ship’s WiFi network? If so, what SSID name did you select and what password did you use?
  5. Several in this string posted that they were able to stream using ROKU. I have what is likely a dumb question: After you get the ROKU installed and TV input switched to the appropriate HDMI selection, how do you connect the ROKU to the onboard Internet?
