Just a thought, it sounds like maybe you didn’t select your embarkation time yet. It becomes available to select around 59-29 days before the cruise. You go into the medallion app and go to travel check list. Then personal information and documentation. Then scroll down to arrival and departure times

I did and my travel checklist just say 'Your arrival status GREEN'

Under that are other options like My Preferences, Safety Essentials and medallion Net.

So is it like another person said that GREEN was all you needed?

The live Chat was useless for helping.

You don’t have to use the App.  If you have issues with it, you can still do it on the website under the cruise personalizer.

If you go to checkin…right under the

button for download App, you’ll see

a link, for the web version.

You can still print your luggage tags and travel summary 75 days before on the website, just like before.

Don’t stress over the app.  You still

bring your documents to the port for them to check, passport, vax card and covid test results.

Do you know when I can access digital boarding pass on phone? assuming that has a check in time as well...trying to plan ride to the port.

  3. RE Not able to enter Canadian postal code.

Assuming it was to verify my credit card billing info as most online sites do, I ended up phoning and went through a lot of waiting, transferring until an agent entered it correctly for me.

When I asked if others had run into this problem before, I was assured NO never.

Judging by the comments here, that is not true.

yes to the question I did enter the country first.

I know the digital only trick as we too travel in the US but again, I assumed that it had to be correct format to verify the credit card.

    Guess not!

Now I'm trying to find out when I can access the digital boarding pass...apparently not yet for our cruise in 5 wks time.

  4. We don't sail for a month but I'm trying to get my to do list ready. The webpage says the digital boarding passes are:

My ask is WHEN are they available? Nothing there now.

Does the boarding pass show the time as well?

thanks..first time cruising since Covid so this is all new to me.

    MedallionClass Boarding:

Digital boarding passes for your MedallionClass Vacation are available in the MedallionClass app.

  5. Trying to prepare for our first post covid cruise.

I just spent a very frustrating hour trying to do the Medallion app. Can't do it on the PC. Forced to do on the iphone.

Got so far as trying to enter my CC info and it REFUSES to take a Canadian postal code which has letters and numbers...would only accept the numbers. I phoned 1-800-PRINCESS and pushed buttons until I got to Medallion help.

She claimed NO ONE else had ever had that issue, told me uninstall and reinstall app. I did. Still no go. So in the end, she entered my CC info. Without that, it was impossible to go from BLUE LANE (WTH) to GREEN LINE...apparently being ELITE has no preferential to getting on board unless you complete all these steps.

In the preCovid days, all those steps from dining, to CC to passport info was entered through the Cruise Personalizer.

Our last cruise just before covid we used the medallion only to open our doors. I don't see this as an improvement...my two cents.

One device means connected with one device at a time.  You could have ten devices - whatever.  Also, you could have one plan and both cabinmates share the access.  You just need the login credentials for the cabin to login.  But only one person at a time even if you have two devices - IF you only have one plan and one login credential paid.

thank you for explaination! going away to me means 'going away' from being tied to the internet other than checking in back home.

Confused about your thinking here. Was it the extent of the list which has put you off? Presumably you were already aware that cancellations and changes are possible/likely?

The extent of list in that some cruises scheduled for the immediate next several months have been cancelled just when it looked like things were starting to 'open up'. It seems some booked cruisers got lucky; others not. So I will wait longer until things look more 'normal' with less cancellations. i'm skittish as we, like many here, had an April 2020 $$$ cruise cancelled and like many here, had to wait for some time before we eventually were refunded. More stress than I'm comfortable with at my age. Looking forward to things continuing to get better THEN I'll hit BOOK NOW.

The press release is ambiguous, but the Minister was not. He clearly stated that the test must be taken within 24 hours. This is consistent with the GOC's practise of using hours instead of calendar days.

and judging from Princess site, you must WAIT at port until results are in THEN head to airport.

Booking a 11:00 am flight home is risky especially when you know that you need a PCR Test prior to flying. Chances are you going to miss your flight.

agree...later vs earlier flights will be the norm which, when flying back to west coast, means a long long day/night.

  10. I've spent all morning reading threads about covid testing needed to board ship and different country requirements AND how to get PCR test needed to fly back home to Canada . I was about to press BOOK NOW on a fall 2022 cruise to take advantage of the current VDay sale.

Then I saw this...a huge list of cancelled and delayed cruises.

    https://www.princess.com/plan/impacted-and-cancelled-cruises/

I don't need the worry so will wait. Not Princess's fault but its disappointing as I already had cabin picked and shore excursions. Yes I could book but even with final payment in August (90 days ahead vs the I thought previous 72 days) I'd just be worrying.

I won’t be waiting 5 hours. Nor staying at port more then an hour. Will get PCR test at airport. But I allowed a lot of time before my flight, others find it less stressful to test before disembarking

so if Princess provides 'free' testing for those who need it to fly home ie. to Canada, but you wait at Port, why the sign with the prices posted? Also what if EZ air books you a 11 am flight but your test isn't ready in time so you twiddle your fingers waiting at the port vs waiting at terminal to fly home?

The prices vary based on cruise line. With Celebrity, testing remains complimentary for guests with cruise reservations booked prior to November 16, 2021. For new bookings made on or after November 16, 2021, the cost for onsite cruise port testing starts at $99 per person and vary by port and test type. I've not seen a price list published by Celebrity showing the cost by port and type.

For Royal Caribbean, all testing will remain free through January 31, 2022.  After that, passengers wishing to be tested will have to pay, with antigen tests starting at $105 and PCR tests starting at $210. Again, the price varies by port and type, and I've seen no price list.

Hopefully as more Canadian passengers are charged. for the tests we'll see reporting on what the actual costs are.

Looking at another link with each country's entry requirements listed, If that means every passenger pays $105 per port for testing then that could (if the rules stayed the same) add another $600 + pp to a cruise cost for a 6 port cruise. Forget it!

just to clarify, covid testing is required to both enter the country as well as to get on the ship - correct? can the testing be done in your home country within 72 hours of boarding, or does it have to be done from the departure country?

and then at the end of the cruise, I know that we will be needing PCR tests to get back to Canada, so how easy will those be to get, and do I need to plan an extra day or so at the end of my cruise? all that extra hotel time will add much $$ to the cost of the cruise

exactly my thoughts too....so what we sit in a hotel room in US to try and source out $$PCR test to fly home? I think I will wait before hitting the BOOK NOW button.

Other than cost, I don't really understand the objection to PCR tests.

Family members paid $900 US for 4 members. Tested neg.

24 hrs later were randomly selected at airport to be retested. One member positive...no symptoms. Double vaxxed.

So....was the $900 a cash grab? Did all the testing keep anyone safer?

Confusing times for sure when most people are just trying to do the right thing AND trying to get back to more normal times.

  16. I was all ready to push 'BOOK NOW' on a Nov cruise but after reading all these Covid threads plus reading a document how every country has slightly different rules for entry so a port intensive cruise (mine would be 6 ports) would mean near daily antigen testing (done free on the ship? by whom") I have decided to wait to book.

I am also Canadian but I am planning to cruise next month.
I have been following pretty closely for the past few months.  There are no doubt cases on board.  How bad, I don't know.
But I have been surprised that no Carnival cruises have been cancelled I am aware of (a couple other cruise lines have).  And not many ports being missed.
I thought it was going to be far worse than what I've been seeing.  But who knows if it will continue the same way. I sure am hoping.
I am more concerned about contracting COVID  with the Omicron variant than I was when I originally booked but we are vaxxed and boosted and have purchased insurance to cover us if we end up having to stay in the US for extra time.  I also have the work time figured out.

What insurance did you buy to cover the unexpected stay? Only one I found was Manulife; did you find more? Also a Canadian.
