Just got off the latest webinar. Once again confirmed that ALL FCCs from pause 1 were complete, providing the choice of option 1/2 was received prior to April 30th. They stated that if you had not yet received it and had submitted your form to contact your TA or Princess. Any pause 1 forms submitted after April 30th would not be processed until after May 31st.

Additionally, they are no longer going by sailing date for refunds as this was causing further delays. Instead they are using a combination or cancellation date, sailing date, and circumstances of refund (I assume that means easy as opposed to complex).

An email will be going to anyone that cancelled cruises that would have been in pause 3 (forget the specific timeframe for cancellation) to include them in the double deposit offer if not paid in full and refund has not been received.

Thanks fir the webinar update. However either they are wrong in stating ALL FCCs from pause 1 have been handled for forms sent in before April31 OR they have but I got missed.

Anyone else NOT see their FCC yet from

    Pause 1? ( option 1 or 2 .. I was option 2)

im trying to avoid phoning princess as you were told in webinar.

Sorry azbirdmom.. we posted at same time.

    Not aimed specifically at you.

    BUT

I’m kinda laughing at the people saying their one or 2 cruise calculations are too complicated while they expect princess to do hundreds of thousands of complicated calculations with every one different in a few weeks and have to answer all the calls asking about there refunds at the same time.

    😂😂😂

No problem .. if you read my posts I do not expect princess to process these refunds PDQ as many here do. I don’t believe it’s just a click of a mouse . I don’t believe there is a conspiracy to hold onto our money. I will not file a CC dispute. I have not phoned princess to tie up any staff time . I booked with princess directly so won’t be phoning a TA.

    nope nada.

I just commented that perhaps anything other than a cruise that  was a SIMPLE refund to process such as where princess cancelled the cruise on mar 12 and customer asked for option 1 or 2 with no extra cabins booked for family members, no EZ air, no OBC, no excursions, etc would take longer to process.
everything else in my opinion is ‘complicated’ and bound to take time.

My guess is that bookings with more ‘complicated’ calculations will be handled last. Such as the many folks who were on interrupted cruises that have additional costs to return home along with OBC owed and days of cruise lost calculations.

I also think people who cancelled before Princess did fall into another calculation basket, as there are varying degrees of cancellation penalty to be calculated depending on date of cruise and date of cancellation, and that is split between FCC and refund.  We chose to cancel at 64 days before the cruise as we were in the phase where your deposit is the penalty amount, and our deposit was only $2.

Princess eventually cancelled our cruise several weeks later, but we were never given the Option 1 or 2 choices, nor have we received any of the Emails.  So I figure we are at the tail end of the refund line in Princess’ mind.  Fortunately, our bank agrees that is a too-long wait and is working through our dispute since we have a dated cancellation confirmation email with all the math already done.

I think you are correct as that is the basket we fall into. Cancelled on Mar 6 for April 19 cruise so were in the 50% basket which we got back kinda...the math was too complicated. We also had EZ Air and excursions. I know what $$ I had paid so will wait to see if it totals back...whenever that may be.

I, too, am very happy to announce our Option 2 Refund showed up in our credit card account this morning.  The actual "post date" from Princess was May 15 but did not show up until this morning, May 20, on our statement and we have checked for it Every.Single.Day. for weeks now.

Princess cancelled our March 26 Crown Princess TA cruise on March 12. We chose Option 2 on March 12 with confirmation on March 13.

We received the Cruise Fare, EZ Air, Princess Vacation Insurance, Port Fees and Taxes.  I will have to contact the Princess gift card people for the $200 we used at final payment for a new card (I threw away the original gift card as I thought why do I need to keep empty cards?!?!).

Also, no 50% FCC in either of our Princess FCC Accounts, but I'll wait a few days before I inquire about that. I'm just thrilled we got what we got as I was seriously having doubts.....

Thank you for the good news .

..watch the mood of this thread change quickly from 2183 posts so far that range from supportive and patient to conspiracy theories to  threatening lawsuits. Hope this good news continues so we can all get back to doing what we love best...cruise, plan to cruise, show pics of our latest cruise.

Hope my Option 2 comes soon !

  5. I just got the oddest email from Princess with the heading 'CANCELLATION NOTIFICATION'

Attached is an invoice that looks like when you book and pay...see attached.

It says my April 19 cruise was cancelled (duh) and that I have no cancellation fees.

But it lists a bunch of numbers that make no sense.

I quickly logged onto Princess account and voila, my FDC and FCC attached TO THE FDC is there but NO EXTRA 25% as per Option 2 that I chose on Mar 12.

I then checked credit card and no money there.

So...progress on from Mar 12 to May 18....Option 2 chosen but NO REFUND AND NO 25% extra FCC

BUT my FCD that I had 'used' to book said cancelled cruise is now back in my account ..before it was just GONE.

ps my account a little bit complicated in that we cancelled Mar 6 in the 50% 'penalty' phase so got approx 50% back already. The other 50% however we are waiting for Princess in Option 2.

Anyone else get this sort of email?

Just my opinion, since I have spent way too much time on this topic: fb, cruise critic posters are a very small representation of the thousands or hundred thousand refunds Princess has to process starting with the Diamond Princess. None of us know the numbers.

Hallelujah....there is just a few dozen posters here who have made 1865 posts but 'we' only represent a fraction of those who are waiting for FCC and refunds; thus I mentioned a few other info sources via FB pages. Again, that is just another pool to draw from.

It is also likely that those who got their FCCs and refunds wouldn't think to come HERE and seek out any threads about refund delays. Nope, they likely are busy looking online to try and plan their next trip!

Hopefully we will all be able to do that soon.

I said almost. I have yet to receive mine also. I think we are in a unique group being treated differently. Most who were part of Pause 1 who Princess cancelled seemed to get theirs.

Nope not me and I was part of that group you describe. If you go to other FB pages .. one called Princess Cruises and one called  Princess Elite , you can count on one hand who in this phase 1 Princess cancelled group has received any FCC. Not being contrary, just offering More sources to get a larger group to poll for more survey results.

No I don't know. I do know that they also have employees in the Seattle area. Or they used to.  Last I knew they had to work at a call center until they became more experienced and then were allowed to work at home. Though COVID-19 may have caused everyone who could to work at home quicker.

I just know that in the middle of this - they are not going to cross train employees. I don't believe this is an issue related to so few employees. Look how quickly the FCCs happened to almost every one once they started?

Several years ago - they eliminated a lot of their IT staff and outsourced it overseas (it was one of those where the people in CA trained their replacements). There were several on this board whose family was affected by this and posted such. It was reported in the trade magazines also about the layoffs.

Look how quickly the FCCs happened to almost every one once they started?

are you implying that ‘almost every one’ has received their FCCs? Because that simply is not true.

Yes, I was originally told that my booking didn’t qualify for a FCC and I had to argue and get a supervisor. She promised to research and call me back, and she did. She apologized and said that it is new and there is a lot of misinformation amongst the CSR’s and was able to apply it to my booking next February.

I am still waiting on paying off my cruise (just deposit and FCC now) until I feel comfortable with the company and I see everyone getting their money back. I am still a bit worried about the state of CCL going into next year. I am hoping they get their act together and the money starts to flow back to their loyal customers. We aren’t Elite or special so I am unsure why we got lucky.

I’m with you in being cautious moving forward.
While I’d Like to believe I’m waiting patiently, vs naively, for my April 19 refund and FCC , until I see some uptick in refunds reported here or one one of the Princess passenger  FB Pages, I’m not willing to invest any more of my self funded retirement savings by booking another cruise.

Are those working on refunds in California? I'm asking because that's approximately Governor Newsom's latest timeline for going to Phase 3 of reopening California and no longer requiring work from home

e pause 1 and 2 cruises shouldbe done within 2 to 4 weeks of May 31st.

so in other words June 15-30? Why not word it that way? By putting the word ‘May 31’ doesn’t make it MAY!

I respect that and understand that you have a long standing relationship with a lot of fond memories and it's not so easy to detach yourself from all of that.  I would probably feel much the same way if I wasn't a one-time cruiser.  But at the end of the day, actions speak loudly.  And it's not at all a function of not getting my money back, but the complete circus show that I have seen emanating from that organization these past few months.

Having said all that, that really has nothing to do with what I was asking hm9912.  They posted a few pages back that they got a refund and seemed to sincerely and enthusiastically thank Princess.  However, upon questioning, it appears that they in fact disputed the charges through their credit card company and got the money back that way.  So I'm totally confused as to what in the world there is to thank Princess for in that specific case.

agree that getting your money back by disputing through your credit card be it Princess visa or Chase or RBC is NOT the same as Princess refunding your monies. I shall wait...and wait and wait....not a one time cruiser...a 20 time cruiser...150 days under my belt...call me Pollyanna but gosh, I gotta hope that Princess will come through.

Nope.  They first said "up to 60 days" from the date they received our choice.  I have a screenshot from their website.

And now it is a moving target.  We have every right to be upset and I do think they are deliberately dragging their feet.

I will file a cc dispute next Wednesday, 62 days in.

Devils advocate here .. 60 calendar days or 60 business days? Most billing caveats use the phrase ‘5 to 7 business days’. Princess did not.

If business days , then add another 3 weeks or so to ‘60 day mark’ ( Plus stat holidays like Easter and May long weekend)

I just checked the balance in my Princess Visa Card this morning and I received the refund for the two cabins and the two tours that we booked on the Sky Princess cruise for us and the grand kids on April 4th that Princess cancelled.

Thank you Princess and hopefully we will all be able to cruise again in the not too distant future. We also received the travel insurance premium from Allianz that we took out for the grand kids about a month ago.

We also previously received the Future Cruise Credits from Princess about a month ago. We chose Option 2

    Howard

Maybe Howard went to front of the line cuz he used a PRINCESS Visa?!

FYI - I just got off the phone with Danielle from Customer Relations and she stated that the FCC's were completed for the first pause of sailings that PRINCESS CANCELLED.  She said now the REFUNDS need to be processed for those sailings and THEN they will go back to March 12 and begin the FCC/refunds for customers that cancelled their cruise before Princess did.  She also told me that she does not have a time frame for how long that will take.  I cancelled on March 11, one day before Princess cancelled my March 21 sailing!  I guess those with sailings after May 12 will probably see their refunds next year IMO!

    Good luck to us all...

    Well

    THAT is not right

I do not have my FCC

Just an FYI....today's Princess webinar stated that ALL cruises cancelled during the first pause have had FCCs completed as of April 30th. I know that I DO NOT have mine, neither does my client....so that tells me that something is very wrong with this "system"...

I do not have any FCC either..in fact my page that used to show a balance of $0.00 now I can't even 'open'.

  16. I just received an email response from my PVP after I emailed her last nite after I got that long email.

Have yet to receive anything from my ‘contact us’’ feedback email I sent .

so the PVP reply is more mixed messages as to WHO got the latest email and WHY it was sent.

However at least I have a real person confirming my Option 2 Choice and that I’m in the queue.

    in part she wrote :

This email was sent out to all passengers for the cancelled cruise.

It is basically letting people know if they have not filled out the form to do so and also if anyone would like to change their option before May 31.

i thanked her but replied to her that according to CC, not all did get email ; not that she can do much.

I posted the recent long email from Princess last nite.

Yes I cancelled mar 6 before mar12 mass cancellation.

mar 6 was when princess sent email out with more OBC enticements IF you decided to not cancel.

Seeing the writing on the wall we cancelled. On mar12 I filled in option 2 and received acknowledgement.

last nite as I posted I received the ‘are you really sure you don’t want option 1 cuz it’s worth more’ email.

  18. 9 minutes ago, ceilidh1 said:

Rereading the email, it looks as if it would only have gone to those that chose option 2 in the hope to persuade them to choose option 1 instead. This worries me - do they have to do this due to lack of money to process refunds?

could be...now however is not the time to push that...people are not happy with the delay so will see this a deflection of getting the refunds done.

hoping June 1 brings some $$$

Well that sucks! I really hope they don't start the 60 day clock from today.

I didn't get this email, nor did I get the one sent last week. Princess really needs to get their communication sorted out - it's no wonder people are frustrated and losing confidence. I fully believe that those of us who cancelled just prior to them cancelling got "lost" because (as I'm finding out through TA stuff) the bookings cancelled by Princess didn't actually get "cancelled" in the system immediately so were flagged for refund/FCC follow up. I'm thinking that they are maybe starting to now "clean up" and look at those sailings that may have had passengers that cancelled prior to the big announcement. If I ever receive this email I will likely change my choice to option 2 (originally chose option 1) as I, too, am starting to get concerned.

I got the same email...three times....i too wondered if I was unique as we cancelled ourselves Mar 6 after the Princess scary email when they tried to tempt us with more OBC. Then on Mar 12 THEY cancelled. Then I filled in for Option 2 and got confirmaiton. It's a big cluster....k
