When I stepped out last night, I smelled wood burning. I was wondering which one of my neighbors installed a fire pit but I guess it was the wilderness fires? Today was weird. Thick haze all day. Sunset lit it up in bright orange. Looked very post-apocalyptic. @Coralc & @NHProud is that how it typically is in California?

That's actually a great time of the year to go. Unbearable summer heat is gone but plenty warm enough to lounge by the pool. And while it's always tourist season in Vegas, it does seem to be less crowded after summer but before the holidays. Also, no spring breakers and less conventions, trade shows & bachelor/Bachelorette parties. My total subjective observations of course, I have no hard facts to back that up.

My first thought was cyber bullying. Kids are so tech-savvy at such a young age these days and now we just made it so much easier for them to do so much more. And of course, fraud. Scammers seem to always be willing to adapt new technology. Hopefully in the future, all software that alters a photo will leave some kind of "signature stamp" (not sure what to call it) on a photo so that it can be easily identified as an altered picture.

I love Vegas as well. First time was in 2003 or 2004, I think. This was after going to Atlantic City dozens of times. Night and Day difference. I tried to explain it to a few of my Atlantic City buddies that in their minds, a slot machine or poker table is just a slot machine or poker table no matter where it's located. To which I replied, Vegas is akin to going to Walt Disney World or a Great Adventure Amusement park while AC is more like a traveling carnival that performs at the firehouse or local mall parking lot. Sure, both offer rides and games of chance and food but they are still light years apart.

Is Liberty of the Sea too big???

All correct. And when the Freedom-class was still under development, it was referred to as a stretched Voyager since - as you pointed out - the same basic design, just a bit longer. -

And it's one-of-a-kind. No other ship in the fleet has one. The video doesn't do it justice as it doesn't look all that dramatic but it felt like we were going to fly off the ship at the top of the ramp. Probably did it 20 times over the course of 7 days. 23182.mp4 -
I'm lacking in social skills & etiquette. Happy Birthday to @Ocean Boy and all the family members of fellow CC posters. I feel the need to buy some Kraken for the weekend. @Luckynana, your granddaughter is beautiful & her dress in not only prom worthy but Taylor Swift concert worthy. 🙂 All the home update pictures look amazing & safe travels to those that are traveling. Did I miss anything? 😳

Ok, so when I first saw the signs last week, it just a quick glance when driving by. Yesterday, I made sure to look for them. Turns out, they are not "official" road signs from the highway or parks department but "temporary" signs put up by a local conservation group. I noticed 3 signs, all located near wetlands or a catch basin (?), used to capture water runoff from a golf course located within the park. I did my best to capture the height by taking a selfie but my photographic skills pale in comparison to everyone else's. The sign lines up with my thigh, the top being just below my hip & bottom being just below my knee. (I'm 6'2) I asked someone who jogs the park almost daily & he thinks they are mounted low so drivers will glance down to read it & might notice a turtle on the road. While that might sounds dangerous, these are roads within Rockland Lake State Park so the speed limit is 15 or 20 m.p.h. Not exactly high speed driving, although some people do.

Alaskan cruise need all the help I can get
HBE4 replied to Tntt's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I just looked up the weather in Alaska in July using the most powerful search engine known to mankind aka Google. First answer returned was "warmest month but can be variable". Seems like even "fixed" answers could use opinion-based backup. -
They are but I should have added a disclaimer: I didn't take the pictures, those are stock images taken from their website. https://mariomcuomobridge.ny.gov/lighting Feel free to browse all 42 special days the bridge is lit in different colors, otherwise it's just plain old white. Except Earth Day, when all decorative lights are turned off. And you can submit a special request for your own special color combinations on your own special day. I wonder how many people actually do that?
