Current target market here, I think (Early 40’s DINK). Been on a few cruises (one Caribbean and one Alaska, the rest Europe) with family during my teens to early 30’s, all with Princess except for one on Celebrity. That was way back in 2012 on the Silhouette (Italy/Croatia). During my 30’s, I went on a few more Med & Asia cruises with my partner, again on Princess (Grand/Crown class) and once each on NCL (Star) & RC (Radiance). I guess I’m an old soul since I prefer the traditional, refined experience of older, smaller ships to the theme park atmosphere of the gaudy monstrosities, Sun Princess included.
Currently booked on another Med cruise on the Equinox this summer, our first since 2019. While I still love Princess, I feel that Celebrity is a perfect fit for us. We exclusively cruise the Med now, so itinerary is the key driver. Princess itineraries have been unchanged for years, while Celebrity has more interesting choices, even if most of these ports are repeats for us. We also love the diverse international demographics on European cruises. And with the port-intensive itineraries and long port days, we feel that S-class ships offer just the right kind of experience we are looking for.
