  1. They seem to be all over the shop. If I log into my Celebrity account with the same email I use for the RCI account, the password gets reset and I can't log in to RCI anymore without making a new one (which can be identical to the old - that's how your company ends up like Medicare/Optus). Then you have weird things like certain cruises giving you an error when you try to book or even price them.
  2. Sorry to hear about your +ve test! Hopefully the paxlovid does the job. Just be aware of rebound positivity, where you test negative after a week or so, then get very mild symptoms and test positive again at around fortnight. It's very common with the antivirals (it happened to Joe Biden), and you may be slightly infectious, so be careful around anyone vulnerable for a couple of weeks. I'm also pleased to hear they're offering antivirals onboard. My elderly Mum wants to cruise but I'm very concerned she wouldn't be able to get them onboard, which rules out a longer sailing. Searching the forums for 'paxlovid OR antivirals' and it seems you getting them (and not having to pay) is quite unique.
  3. Is there anything to do there for those not particularly adventure minded (and physically incapable of being so)? I have a day there on Carnival Splendor but unless there's something interesting I was probably going to enjoy the slightly emptier ship!
  4. Lol yeah. I'm not the creator I just appreciated the video. They do quite a nice ship tour as well. I booked Splendor not really thinking it'll be for me, but the great spa area, cheap price and staggering OBC offered for a cancelled cruise lured me to rebook, and now I'm really looking forward to it.
  5. Seems in Australia it will be Coke products, and price is $9.50 per day for adults, kids $6.95. See this video for evidence and other drink prices and food menus...
  6. Absolutely. I travel a bit and take most of my "Covid kit" with me these days. A few RATs, pulse oximeter, thermometer, hydralyte, Ventolin, Symbicort, painkillers and some throat lozenges. That's all I used when I got Covid a few months ago. Pulse oximeter and thermometer is a good idea to give you an indication if you should be concerned about your vitals and seek further treatment. If you're in a high enough risk category that you should be on antivirals at first sign of infection, you probably shouldn't be on a cruise.
  7. Seems to be mostly back now, and they also just sent me an email with similar details. It's like they were watching.... ☺️ That said, there's nowhere near as much detail at this stage as there is on the Princess site or the NSW Health pdf linked above. I was impressed that Princess stated they had PCR testing capability onboard. And both Princess and Carnival have said that initial medical centre consults and treatment for Covid related issues will not be charged.
  8. This board is absolutely fantastic. Appreciate the helpful responses and advice. It's definitely a moving feast right now so whatever the protocols are this month, may be different later. This seems to directly answer my biggest question regarding disembarking and driving home if positive. Section 14.1: "Cases and their close contacts will be able to drive home if they have their private transport at the port and are well enough to travel. Private transport does not include taxi, rideshare or public transport."
  9. I'm sure this has been addressed in comment threads and elsewhere, and perhaps even on cruise line sites. But I can't seem to find clear answers to certain scenarios, and is it different on each line? I have a 4-night Carnival cruise in December. I get there'll be a vaccination declaration and masks in certain areas. But I'm still not clear on the pre-testing requirements. Are they the same as listed on the Carnival site here? i.e. a PCR within 3 days of cruise that includes full legal name, date of birth, type of test, date and time sample was taken? A lot of places don't includes those details. It seems that if myself or my travel companion test positive prior to boarding, we can receive FCC. Test +ve onboard and you can also get some. That's fine. But what's the policy on disembarkation? Are the positive cases on the Coral Princess at the moment stuck on board until the 7 day isolation is done? Or do they have to find a hotel at their expense? If I live in Canberra and have a car parked a short taxi away can I drive home if I don't stop anywhere? It seems like there's a very strong disincentive to test onboard if the outcome is significant cost, and that's not ideal from a public health perspective. I'm sure I've missed a link somewhere that explains everything.
  10. I have a 6-night cruise booked for November on Quantum of the Seas. It's been booked a while and I've been following the drinks package prices very carefully in the trip planner over the last few months. Generally the daily price has hovered around $80-85AUD, with a claim "25% off RRP" - making the RRP around $105ish. I was hoping for some currency fluctuations and a special to drop the price below $80. When I checked today, the price has skyrocketed to $107, but still claiming "25% off" with an RRP of $143. Wondering if others could check their planner and see what RCI are offering to them. I was lucky enough to have a package in my cart at $80ish/day, and that pricing stuck. So I purchased it for now just as an insurance policy. I've never sailed Royal before, and from what I've read, depending on the AUD/USD exchange rate, drinks onboard can be very pricey indeed.
