I dont know, I may take that 25% bonus on $400 ...

@belmontcrew valid point that I think some may have overlooked -- it really limits how much control you have as you can't easily just call it and say its tom to close shop .. I guess one could sell the promo chips to others .. but thats a PITA
-
The piece that you left out that people are wrestling with is, that the initial buy in is also given as PROMO chips and can't be cashed out - and that is rubbing people the wrong way - but guarantees you don't just get a free 10% in play

@KmomChicago Agree 100% that this thread turned into something that really explains perspectives and differences without the ranting and emotional taking over! I thank you all for the contribution, it really helped me out as well

If you're a player that is consistently coming home with free cruise vouchers
Any tips and pointers on working one up to this? I usually walk away up, few dollars, nothing week changing -- but I get ZILCH. Typically do table games, but always hear people on the penny slots getting $500+ vouchers and free cruises. Would love to join this rank and file!

First bet is ALWAYS Black .. better odds 😉
-
You could just get it in table credit, and let it ride on Black .. could make a great cruise!
-
Ive always pondered the ability to purchase the chips, take them to the table/slots, not really play hard, let someone else cash them in - then rinse repeat
-
it costs about $50 to uber, just did it
-
Do you think you can just cash those out and keep the points on the credit card?
-
@cruiseguyinorl WOW --- if this is in fact the reasons behind everything, it makes a TON of sense ...

@Hlitner first off .. 60 day cruise!!! OMG!
Next -- this is excellent words of wisdom! thank you so much, so many droplets of mad knowledge in here. Appreciate it !

@Scot born From the USA, so all this European stuff is SCARY 😉 ....
@champagne123 you werent on the Allure were you? I dont think I saw the ship referenced, but wondering if we crossed paths 😉

@Scot born excellent points -- Was just looking at cruises dot com and MSC and COSTA were the ones that stood out .. need some more help with where the best search/compare sites are ... really appreciate it!

@sidari Totally agree, I look at reviews the same as I do on Amazon. Since I already know Im interested in the 'product' I read the negatives, I try to factor out the crazies and overly emotional ones and try to find ones that pluck out something meaningful to help me critically decide .. but you are totally right!

I can take or leave the sea day. I do like one at the end to decompress, but Im more about waking up in a different world and seeing what is out there.
thanks for the response

I understand that this may be a can of worms, as much of this topic is very subjective. I know for every good review you can find two bad reviews, and vice versa -- but from Forum browsing and googling, it does appear that MSC gets weighted a little to the less favorable side, but again there are MANY proponents on here.
Im a semi experienced cruiser, Caribbean primarily, but across Celebrity, Norwegian, Royal and Carnival. Im not blown away with the food or the venues - they all have their pros and cons, but Im simple, I like my interior cabin cave, I do like the staff being friendly, I like some deck antics by the entertainment staff but I dont need 5 Star treatment and Top Tier food. Im all about getting away and waking up in a new port, exploring and coming back to grab a less than impressive, but very satisfying burger.
With all that said, most of the negative reviews of MSC tend to lean towards not reaching that pinnacle class of experience. For a casual cruiser, as described, that is interested in trying a Mediterranean MSC Cruise, do you think it would live up to the expectations that I typically have for cruise lines? Or is it really that much different? Would love your feedback

Just to clarify, you can swap the currently online devices when ever you want by logging in, and clicking 'SWAP DEVICE'. It boots the current device off, and allows the new one on. For example, iPad in the room and outside you connect with your phone.

Thanks everyone -- I poked around, but Im not sure what "European Schedule" or "More European" means from your perspectives outside of Americans being the minority. Could either of you elaborate?

As many people said, PRICE and the fact that Im hardly inside. I also find that they are super quiet and I love how dark and relaxing they are.

Have a few Caribbean Cruises under the belt, thinking about going Mediterranean. Quick look came up with COSTA and MSC for Nov. 2019 that I am looking at (Greece/Italy) itineraries. Was looking for any guidance on these lines? Ive done Carnival, Royal C., Celebrity and Norwiegan - and have enjoyed all of them, lean a little towards RC. Just dont want to get stuck on a bogus boat that is too heavily sided at an older crown (Im in the middle range 40's) ..
Any tips and thoughts would be appreciated - Ice

@HBE4 minus thats a really bad money management strategy there .. you could just put $1000 of non promotional chips on all the time and 2x your money every time ... much better than that lame 20%
