  1. That cruise leaves Honolulu on May 2nd not April 30th.
  2. They still have "formal night" and "dress your best night". Not everyone goes all out, but many do and if you want to do it, go for it. Do whatever you are comfortable with and have fun!! We get dressed up for those nights and love it.
  3. Not wrong, but thanks. It's quite possible that some ships do hand them out to everyone, but many ships do not anymore - as shown by posters in this thread alone. Maybe word your reply a little differently next time instead of coming across so harshly.
  4. We have only stayed in Suites, and we have gotten it every night we have sailed. We have heard that only guests in Suites get them every night, others do not. With that said, apparently you can ask your room steward to have them and they will leave one in your room every evening.
  5. They give wrist bands for the four people who allowed to use the beach beds. I have heard that they can be very strict with the number of guests using them, and the ages too. I have heard the age restriction has to do with liability/insurance issues. Obviously, no one here can tell you with 100% certainty if your granddaughter will be allowed to use the best due to her age AND exceeding the number of guests allowed to use it. But try and remember your fellow cruisers and by exceeding the number of people technically allowed to use the bed, that you will be crowding others and potentially encroaching on their privacy/enjoyment of the beach bed. Water temperature is subjective. We were at CocoCay in March, April and May and the ocean temps were warm and enjoyable. We used the pool at the CocoCay Beach Club, also, enjoyable. But what we find warm or cool could be completely different to someone else.
  6. Question. Why is it that when you are playing Bingo, and win a jackpot bigger than $1,500 do they tell you/remind you - over and over again, that you will be taxed? The last few cruises they announced this EVERY time a win would be in excess of $1,500. Seemed very odd to tax on such a small amount (compared to some of the wins being discussed here in the Casino). In Canada, we don't get taxed on any winnings - no matter how big or small. With that said, if we win in the US (or any Country with specific tax laws on winnings) we have to pay taxes on those funds in excess of whatever the cutoff is for that specific Country (not a Canadian regulation, but having to follow the rules in other Countries). So, in the US, we would be taxed for winnings over $10K and then file in Canada to get it back. What they warn you about in bingo seems to go against everything being said in this post. Can anyone shed some light on this?
  7. It doesn't list an age restriction. Just remember though, the casitas are not in the baby/toddler area, and there are no guarantees of getting one near the pool - it could be on the level above the pool.
  8. If your granddaughter is only 1, you may have an issue based on her age alone. Right on the booking page for the beach beds it states: "Restrictions Minimum age: 4 years" I'm not sure how strict they are (I've heard they are but don't have personal experience) , but it would suck if you bought one and showed up and they wouldn't let the baby use it because they certainly won't refund you at that point for not using it.
  9. Next cruise (in a few weeks) I'm going to make sure I take a long slooooow walk past the naughty table to see what goodies are there. I just can't with this post. 😜🤣😂
  10. I stopped reading at crockpots...CROCKPOTS?! PLURAL?! What on God's green earth would someone NEED a crockpot on a cruise ship?! I'm speechless. LOL!!
  11. Well, there was even if there isn't now, we experienced it in March. It obviously doesn't mean they still aren't doing that now, but they did then. We had a 5:30pm seating....
  12. Oh I agree, I was surprised to see that on Anthem back in March. We couldn't figure out how you rush one seating for the next. I also had no desire to have a meal of that length at 9:30pm. LOL! Every cruise we've done and attended Chef's Table, we find the night is only for that. Meaning, we don't plan shows or anything else because of how long it is - in a good way!
  13. I'm surprised there is only one now, it used to be two seatings on Quantum Class - it was like that in March on Anthem. Not that it matters, lol. $85 is a better price than what us Canadians play. If you compare what it would cost to eat five courses, five wine parings and a pre-dinner cocktail at a restaurant, it would be exponentially more expensive. That price is amazing! In the end, personally, I think you are paying more for the experience than just the meal/drinks (though those are great too!).
  14. I'm thinking @robmtx was just making you aware that they do give wristbands and that it might not be possible to have everyone you want there to have access to the bed. He also was giving you a perspective about other guests around you. Personally, if I was in a beach bed next to you and you pulled up extra chairs I would be annoyed. Simply because while there is space between the beds, extra chairs would eliminate that space and would feel very crowded and less private for your fellow cruisers. Just something else to keep in mind.
  15. Yup, as the others have stated, its offered every night. Generally the seating is 6:30pm. On Quantum Class ships, the seating is 5:30pm and 9:30pm. @ONECRUISER I'm curious what price are you seeing? IMO, it is actually a great price considering it's five courses PLUS a pre-dinner drink and wine with each course. Besides great food, the atmosphere and experience is amazing!
  16. Everything else has been covered, but there are only three separate lines for checking in at the port - Suites/Pinnacle/Key (one line), Star Class (a different area) & everyone else. So unless you are Pinnacle, your C&A status doesn't mean anything. Once you have checked-in, you will be again separated/seated by the above groups and then called to board the ship. Star Class first, Suites/Pinnacle/Key next and then everyone else. Welcome back to cruising!
  17. I'm wondering if you hit the wrong button and accidentally hit the button that allows Royal to choose your room instead of yourself. If you were picking your own, you would have been able to choose it prior to checking out. What does your confirmation paperwork say?
  18. Thanks. I would love to see one closer up though to see how the cabanas sit in relation to each other. And yes, I meant hilltop - I can't edit my OP.
  19. Does anyone have or know where I can see (clearly) a map of the cabanas at Barefoot Beach, Labadee? Specifically, the Tree Top Cabanas. I have looked online and have found generic maps of Labadee, but not specific enough with the cabana numbers and certainly not clear. TIA!
  20. I can't access our guest folio from our March 2020 cruise anymore, but at the time my son was 12 (turned 13 a few months later) and whatever the option for the UDP for 12 year olds is is what we had for him. He ate off the regular menu every night, they never once brought him the kids menu. I'm not saying this is how it is on every ship, but this was our experience then.
  21. Unless you are in a Star Class Suite, no, you keep your carry on's with you - the whole point of them. You keep them with you, until you can access your room. Star Class guests have access much earlier, and are allowed past those fire proof doors as directed by their Genie's. If you don't want to carry them, I would suggest dropping them off with your regular luggage and the porters can take them to your room.
  22. We've been on a few cruises this year, and have masked for all of them (airports, flights, port, main spaces on the ship where overcrowding may be an issue) and take them off when seated to eat/drink. Some in our group take them off for shows, others leave them on. Only once (knock on wood) has one person in our party gotten COVID post cruise (though it could have been related to the airport/flight too). We avoided super full elevators and kept our distance as much as possible - though never let it ruin our trips. We are all vaxxed and boosted, wash hands/sanitize and mask up when out and about. Some people will take precautions, some extra precautions and some don't care (to each their own). We worry about us and do what we can to protect ourselves regardless of what others do.
  23. You weren't given or offered an upgrade, you were given an opportunity to possibly upgrade. Bidding offers zero guarantee you will get it. Even if someone cancels last minute or is a no show, there are still zero guarantees that you will get the room. They offer them as a backup for last minute cancellations, no show or rooms that were never booked to begin with. So it's very possible every balcony (as an example) is already completely sold out, it just means they are compiling a waiting list of sorts for that class of room as a "just in case" scenario. Like someone else mentioned, when one person gets the upgrade, everyone below them upgrades too. An example: An interior room could get a balcony; balcony room could get a jr suite; jr suite could get a full suite; so on an so forth. The dollar amount of your bid does matter. Some people have upgraded with the bare minimum and some have upgraded with the highest possible bid. You just never know what will or won't be accepted. Also, once you bid, you cannot reject/refuse the offer. So you have to be prepared to be in a room that you may not be happy with - floor/location you don't like/want, obstructed balcony room, ec etc... As soon as a bid is accepted your credit card is charged, your original room is released and you are put into your new room. There is no going back. So make your bids with the notion that you will be happy with wherever you could end up. If you are currently 100% happy with where you are, maybe bidding isn't the right choice. Many people don't bid for that reason alone. Or that they don't see the value in bidding. Lastly, bids being accepted can happen through embarkation day. So you could be on board, in your original room and get notice that your bid has been accepted. Again, you cannot decline the change and will have X amount of time to move rooms. Some people chose to cancel their bids a few days prior to sailing so they don't have to deal with that. Just keep that in mind too.
  24. They hand them out at the gangway on your way off of the ship too. If you're at the Beach Club or in a Cabana, don't worry about the towels. You get super fluffy ones from them. lol!
