  1. I did. It was that or spend $200-$300 for a night in a hotel in Vancouver and then still have to be up at 6 AM (or at 4 AM for a 6 AM flight) the next day for a flight home. I chose to just take the overnight flight and got home at a reasonable hour.
  2. Is this recent enough? Near the top of the topic list is a drop down (looks close, it is easy to miss), where you can select a ship name and get a pre-filled search for topics on that ship..
  3. Here's another - and a pre-filled use of the search box in the blue bar to help you find more - https://boards.cruisecritic.com/search/?q="specialty dining"&quick=1&type=forums_topic&nodes=64&updated_after=any&sortby=relevancy
  4. Less than 2 weeks ago -
  5. Nope. I did a deviation for my October 2019 cruise, I had a 6 AM flight from Albany (which didn't get off the ground until closer to 7) and I was in LA by 11 AM. I could have easily made the ship if I had flown in the day before. You can have a travel party comprised of more than one reservation.
  6. I did an excursion booked through them on one of my cruises in 2019, the tour was in Cabo. Once on shore we dealt directly with the tour operator. A portion of the cost was due up front (maybe the broker's portion?) with the remainder due at the end of the excursion. We (3 of us) were under the impression that the tour, or portions of it, was a private tour of JUST our party but we were paired with another party that had some trouble disembarking onto the tender. The tour information also advised that those with mobility issues shouldn't take it, but mobility issues were the very reason the other group were delayed getting off the ship. Overall - the tour operator was easy to work with, and they were 5 minutes away from taking just my party out for the boat portion before the van portion as they normally do then taking the other party out for the boat portion after the van tour.
  7. No - if the cruise becomes an "open jaw" or open loop cruise it requires a distant foreign port to be legal (Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean do not qualify). Closed loop cruises just need a stop at a foreign port.
  8. You could always email the CruiseNext team for an answer right from them. cruisenext@ncl.com
  9. No, you can't open the box containing the test until you're on the call with them. The expiration should be on the outside of the test box, and they will confirm that the test is not expired prior to having you break the seal on the test box.
  10. are the tickets transferrable? Maybe sell them at a slight discount from face value to recover most of your outlay?
  11. When I sailed on Anthem in 2018 I believe there were TWO options initially - KSC TOUR and KSC Visitor's Center. The Visitor's Center was transportation-only, and I think the tour option was cancelled as that was a Space-X launch day but would have otherwise been a tour of the facilities closer to the launch site(s). The one @XJokerX posted looks like what we took, though our time was VERY limited by heavy traffic and long lines due to there being a launch that day AND it being Spring Break week for Northeast schools (hence why I was on the cruise). Edit to add - the Visitor's Center one is very much self-guided, you're dropped off and lead through the gate by a staff member from the bus then you're left on your own until it's time to go back to the ship.
  12. Were you booked on the same reservation number? If not - are you POSITIVE that your daughter had the same deviation request? Also - NCL offers the "travel with guarantee" that allows people on separate reservations to be linked so their air can be booked together. This used to be free but now there's a small fee for it. and if you've read the T&C's of the promo you would know that this is a possibility! Norwegian Cruise Line reserves the right to select an alternate airport within 60 miles based on itinerary, choose the air carrier, routing and city airport from each gateway city Directly from https://www.ncl.com/about/terms-and-conditions/promotions Oh, that also means they could have booked you out of FLL if FLL had flights servicing the region you were flying to, even though you picked Miami.
  13. The "drunk/rowdy" reputation also comes a bit with the itinerary chosen. 4-day one-port cruise in the Caribbean on Carnival? PARTY TIME. 10-day Med cruise on Celebrity, NCL, HAL, Princess or maybe even Carnival? Older demographic, a little more subdued. OK, I did single out Carnival for the 3 and 4 day Caribbean cruises that are generally taken by a younger crowd looking to party, but that IS a reputation that's been somewhat earned (the "Party Ship" or "Fun Ship" marketing?).
  14. and don't just wait until 2 days before to open the box containing the test, wait until you're on the session and they tell you to open it! I suggest getting the app installed and set up NOW. Also - the profile will ask for first name and last name with no option for middle name, if your travel documents have the passenger's middle name (as mine did) they suggest that the middle name be included in the profile so as to avoid any possibility of an issue. Put that middle name in the line with the first name.
  15. I also bring my tablet with me. When I cruised in March I had all my boarding pass saved to a Google Drive folder that I then made available offline on both my phone and tablet. There was (thankfully) good WiFi in the embarkation hall as cell signal inside was poor and the Navica app was acting up due to poor signal quality. There was a line and I was able to sort it out by the time it was my turn. I could have gotten on the ship using either my phone or tablet. For future trips I'm going to start saving more documents to a folder and make them available offline, just in case there's a connectivity issue.
  16. Worried about the seaworthiness AFTER the dry dock? If anything that's the BEST time to be on the ship as they've just gone over everything!
  17. Yup, same exact link I provided earlier in the thread...
  18. @snorklinbarb I wonder if @Jana60 is referring to the restrictions on the Platinum perk meals where there IS a limit of 1 on each course...
  19. Are you sure? Directly from the promo terms and conditions - https://www.ncl.com/about/terms-and-conditions/promotions Specialty Dining Packages include one main course per person at Cagney's and Le Bistro Additional main courses will be charged at the a la carte price listed on the menu I see no mention of limits on apps or desserts...
  20. A good general guideline, but if your state has a vaccine passport app (such as my state with the Excelsior Pass), that can also be shown. I made sure to show them exactly what it was and they accepted it.
  21. As is said in all the other threads on this topic (there are MANY) - the only restriction is one entree, the rest is "open season" so to speak.
  22. TWO? Try ONE. Had someone in my office last week that did a test prior to coming in, to be safe and maybe help us to feel comfortable, it was negative. The following day he was due to come back, felt some allergy-type symptoms and figured he'd test to be sure and sure enough it was positive. Fortunately we were both masked the whole time he was there and we never spent much time in close proximity - generally 10+ feet apart.
  23. Someone said in one of the many other threads on flights that the deviation request means you arrive 1 or 2 days (depending on which you requested) before embarkation. Yes, you could arrive late in the day. I had quite the opposite (domestically) when I took a 1 day deviation and was in LA from NY in time for lunch - PLENTY of time to have made the ship if it had been embarkation day!
