  1. Here are a couple threads (including one posted yesterday) discussing this -
  2. Do you have an itemized invoice to show that? The web site indicates nothing regarding this. There should be a footnote on the WiFi packages page to indicate that gratuities are added, as is done on the other pages for onboard packages. Some other examples might be the Vibe Beach Club that is an extra-fee and limited-access sun deck, the go-karts on ships with that attraction, laser tag on those ships, Galaxy Pavilion on ships with that attraction. As a comparison to the go-karts, I've been on an RCI ship with the free bumper cars - don't even TRY getting on them during a spring break week as the line wraps around the entire venue and few people respect the line, we saw many instances of kids spacing friends in the line and after their turn they just filter back in near the front of the line with a friend causing the line to not move AT ALL for several rounds of riders. If they made it a paid thing that would fix all of that. I stood in line with my niece and nephew for over an hour of actual bumper cars and we were in line at least 30-45 minutes before the activity was scheduled to start.
  3. Most people haven't, but the industry usually hasn't had such difficulty staffing ships (and POA is an exceptionally difficult ship to staff due to the US regulations).
  4. Wasn't the funnel expanded when she was at the shipyard for the exhaust scrubbers? That would have then occupied the space needed for the mini golf, correct? Both ships had the same work done at the same yard at the same time during COVID. Took a while, here's a thread with discussion of the funnel changes -
  5. At least they alerted you that they COULDN'T hold that guarantee and are allowing you to cancel the airfare and refunding the fees for the travel-with guarantee, AND have done so with some notice to allow you to find and book your own flights. The airline industry is in turmoil, there are flights being cancelled all over the globe on a daily basis. Someone posted on here earlier this week that their flight was cancelled while they were on board the plane! It seems, in your case, the NCL flights department couldn't book your group on a single flight at the rates they can get with the airlines (they're special rates). I understand your disappointment, but at 45+ days before the cruise it's better than finding out 15 days before the cruise that they couldn't get you flights. OR, better than finding out once the flights are booked and they WON'T refund the money that they couldn't hold the guarantee and booked the party on 3 different flights without contacting you.
  6. I've sailed Royal and NCL,, and despite being on Royal with my entire family I've thoroughly enjoyed my 3 NCL cruises (one of which I was accompanied by a sibling and their SO). All of the things mentioned above - beautiful ships, the crew have been amazing, the cruise directors on NCL have all been WAY more engaged in daily activities than I saw on Royal. I can't speak to the kid's club/activities. As for the dining - I really like the 'freestyle' concept of just showing up at one of the MDR venues when you decide you're ready to eat. No set time. I'll counter the Le Bistro comments above, I actually quite liked it. If you want a "formal night", Le Bistro would be one way to get that as NCL only has a "dress up or not" night.
  7. It seems there's a gap, the FAQ on the kids program page seems to indicate groups for 6 months-3 years then 5 years, 6-9, etc, but nothing for 4 year olds. That same FAQ indicates the program for the youngest is not currently available - https://www.ncl.com/why-cruise-norwegian/family-cruises/youth-programs
  8. Here are two of many threads - and the pre-filled search using the phrase 'balcony dividers' https://boards.cruisecritic.com/search/?q="balcony divider"&quick=1&type=forums_topic&nodes=64&updated_after=any&sortby=relevancy Bottom line - policy is that they can't be opened. It seems you didn't really have a question, just stirring the pot on a controversial topic we haven't seen in the last couple weeks?
  9. Here's a thread from earlier this month - And more results in the NCL forum using the key word 'Vegan' https://boards.cruisecritic.com/search/?q=vegan&quick=1&type=forums_topic&nodes=64
  10. There were several threads with a nearly identical title a couple weeks ago, similar content. This is not new, and those threads seemed to have mixed results for how long it would take.
  11. Same itinerary - I'd pick Vancouver. Gorgeous city, beautiful sail out of the harbor (ok, I only sailed IN but I got a good idea..), the SkyTrain is an EASY and inexpensive transportation option from the airport if you don't mind handling your bag yourself. Probably not a concern for the OP but a passport WOULD be required for the flight, Seattle would not have that requirement as it's a domestic flight.
  12. Look into it - I believe HSA funds can be used for ANY medical expense, including OTC medications. I paid for my eMed tests for my cruise in March using my HSA (the site says they're HSA eligible).
  13. Have you asked the cruise director or the people at guest services? Those on board the ship are more likely to know than a random group of people on the internet.
  14. You could always refer to the T&C's of the CruiseNext program to determine what the restrictions are, they're easily found with a Google search but I linked them here for your convenience.. https://www.ncl.com/popup/cruisenext_terms
  15. Is that only if using their room booking? When I used the shuttles in 2019 I was only charged as one, though I didn't book a room through NCL.
  16. @trbarton to do a 3 day deviation they required you to book their hotel? First - I didn't think 3 days was an option, I thought it was only 1or 2. Second - I didn't think they required you to book hotel through NCL if you wanted a deviation, I certainly didn't need to as I stated earlier in the thread. I've heard that NCL charges a per-person rate for the room rather than just a room rate, making their bookings cost double even if they're only booking one room for 2 people. As for my experience with the air (keeping in mind my experience was in 2019 when it was "free or reduced" rather than BOGO) - I got flights that I expected, though certainly not exactly ideal but I knew what might happen. I had a 6 AM flight from my home airport of Albany on the day before the cruise. I was on the ground in LA by 11 AM. Yes, they still booked as though we needed to be at the cruise terminal by 2 PM even though it was the day before. For the return flight I had a midnight flight from LAX on disembarkation day. I expected this based on my trip in the Spring and having a similar flight from Vancouver which I booked on my own. I tried getting even standby for an earlier flight that day but AA wouldn't do it because of how NCL booked it, but they accepted the luggage at 10 AM and I proceeded to the car rental counter to pick up the car I'd rented for some sightseeing.
  17. I think what the OP is asking about is photos where someone has overlaid the numbers based on the deck plans, not that the numbers were painted on the outside of the ship/balcony.
  18. Same with me, but the person I was responding to seemed to indicate it was for consumption on the cruise. On my last cruise my tablet (my primary video content consumption device while on the trip) was stowed in the safe for all but about 2 hours each night.
  19. Are you sure? The wording, direct from the website is this: As a benefit of Card Membership, you can check your first bag free on Delta flights booked with your Card This website - https://www.delta.com/us/en/baggage/checked-baggage/first-checked-bag-free
  20. No, it's tied to the card of the person for who it was purchased.
  21. It wouldn't be horribly difficult to match a deck plan to a picture of the side of the ship to get an idea. On Breakaway the Waterfront is on deck 8, count up from there. match up the "humps" as landmarks for cabins...
  22. People REALLY need to read the entire comment/statement when it's said that someone recovering from COVID can test positive for an extended period of time after they have recovered. While I did single out the quoted person, this is simply because they were the latest to do this, there have been NUMEROUS people over the last 18 months that have done the same...
  23. That depends on your patience with buffering, but the only one of those that supports even close to a live TV stream is Hulu. All the rest are video on demand and can cache better than YTTV live streams. Also - the primary focus for YTTV is location as it's entirely unavailable unless your location shows in the US. Regardless - I would anticipate the needs/desires of whoever is planning to watch the content vs. spending time enjoying the cruise and ship and pre-download as much as you can.
  24. @RoperDK this is all I found on the official support page - https://support.google.com/youtubetv/answer/7193651?hl=en#zippy=
  25. It's not too much unlike the Scarlet Lady and her sisters from Virgin Voyages. Not surprising since they're also built by Fincantieri...
