  1. I think the Joy, Bliss and Encore all had the same size OL's, the entire section of the ship forward of the forward stairs on deck 15.
  2. The Joy lost 1/3 of the OL. With as popular as it is it seems quite controversial to remove part of it.
  3. I'm aware, that reply was merely pointing out the omission of the Bliss from the list of those with the enclosed smoking area in the casino. If you read my previous replies you'll note that I was aware of the Bliss not being on the OP's list as I questioned that omission...
  4. They're nearly equals, but the observation lounge gives the Bliss a slight edge. On a warm-weather itinerary the Escape is an excellent ship, though.
  5. I'm not sure why the Bliss was excluded from that list, unless the coupon doesn't allow use on a cruise on that ship. I'm just off my 3rd cruise on her, I think NCL hit it out of the park with that ship. The Escape may be my next choice.
  6. and yet the NCL cruise I was just on had transfers for $70 total (if even that much, it might have been as low as $25 per person) for two to get from San Pedro cruise terminal to LAX. Prices vary considerably from port to port.
  7. My balcony on the Bliss in 2019 was a GTY if I recall. I got deck 14 mid to aft (forward of the aft elevators but not much), not a bad spot. My sister also booked a GTY for that cruise and got deck 9 mid, over the shops.
  8. Just off the Bliss on Sunday, I had NO issues with the quality of the food itself. Service, on the other hand, seemed lacking at times. I'll post more in my own thread and leave this for @OrcaGirl to continue if her mom gets the treatment she needs in PV and can stay on board.
  9. @OrcaGirl I'll tell you right now that the captain is doing what he can to ensure an on time arrival in LA. There was a medical emergency 45 minutes after leaving Cabo yesterday, lost 2 hours or so returning and transferring the patient for critical medical care. His noon report today was that we're 'running flat out' (confirmed with a GPS app that we're doing 25-26 mph right now). I can't speak for others, but I know that myself and those I've befriended on board don't plan on trying to extend our vacation to the detriment of yours.
  10. You could go find the roll call for the next cruise on the ship you're curious about and ask people there to report when they get the chance. You could also go to the 2024 officers and crew thread in this forum to see who was on ships at some point so far this year.
  11. Look in the sticky thread. The main thing is not to use the points for OBC, but to pay for everything on the card to earn 3x points on those purchases then use the points for statement credit instead.
  12. You can't tell me that other lines don't do the same, they do....
  13. I suppose I need to write a scathing review of my cruise. It's in the 60's today with a 40mph+ net wind. Norwegian should have known this would be the case and scheduled the last port to be Cabo instead of LA.
  14. Some entrees carry a cost, even when ordered on the dining package.
  15. I'm currently on board that ship (got the dreaded 'you'll be leaving soon' letter today 😪) for the 3rd time. I really like this ship and this class of ship.
  16. They didn't for me on my current cruise. I actually dropped one in my backpack for just this purpose, but then the room I requested for my hotel stay the night before wasn't ready (when I arrived an hour after I said I would) so they programmed two keys for me (to open the door a total of 4 times, lol) since the digital key might not have arrived on my phone by the time I got up the elevator (it did)
  17. According to the CruiseNext manager on the Bliss, yes. Will is that person, he was on my last cruise as well and I found him to be very frank with his the promotion ACTUALLY goes, plus tricks with using the NCL credit card.
  18. Laundry was later than planned on my 15 day cruise (still on board). I got 9 days worth of clothes in that bag - boxers, t shirts (6), polos (4), socks, a pair of kakhis and a pair of cargo shorts. I'm not a small man, everything is XL or XXL. Everything folded but laid out neatly (to photograph as proof of what I sent) covered half of the bed. It all went in one bag, no trucks using other bags as support.
  19. Key phrasing there... NCL doesn't usually give OBC directly as a perk, except the shareholder OBC. Other than it being added to your account, NCL doesn't know what OBC 'perk' you might be getting.
  20. If I hadn't gotten the topper I'd be walking... The effects of typing on my tablet and not proofreading. Thanks @cruiseny4life for trying to defend me
  21. My options were to book a flight at 1:30 for $300+ and they home at midnight, still needing to take Monday off from work, of book a hotel for $200 and fly home on Monday using points and get home around 6 pm
  22. So, 90% of the complaints are weather related, nothing NCL can do about that. I was on the Escape last year and I will admit that there was a bit more motion at sea than on previous cruises with NCL. However, I'm on the Bliss right now (for the 3rd time) and feeling motion more than on previous times on the ship. The weather is just... Different
  23. Sore back is what I was referring to. I'd I hadn't gotten the topper is be walking around more like the people that make the majority demographic (70+) and less like my 35-50 demographic....
