  1. My last cruise on that ship had about 1,000 fewer than yours, but very likely considerably MORE mobility-challenged people. I didn't find the elevators to be an issue. As is the case with every ship in that class, and ships from other cruise lines. How many ships do you see these days with 3 sets of elevators? I looked, even the Oasis and Icon class ships have only 2 banks of elevators and Icon has only FOUR MORE elevators total than the Bliss.
  2. I once had to fly to Chicago from Pittsburgh in order to get to Albany, NY. Yup, an hour West just to go an hour East from where I started...
  3. Are you sure that wasn't San Pedro? Does NCL even do cruises from San Diego? OK, they do but not many. You flew to LA for a cruise from SD?
  4. My experience, twice, differs from this explanation. As pictured by @BirdTravels there's a glass wall separating the debarking passengers from the post check-in waiting area. Twice now I've been allowed inside the terminal while the previous cruise was still parading off the ship.
  5. When I sailed from Miami in January there was no check of my check-in time compared to when I arrived, though I had the first check-in time anyway...
  6. I saw someone post on one of the other sites that they had a delayed flight to Miami. I'll have to go see if they ever came back to report if they made it. The news was saying there was a ground-stop at MIA, nothing can be done in that case, especially if your flight schedule was so tight that flying to FLL will make you too late for the ship. This is why, when I booked my flights for this past January, I made sure that I wasn't even on the last flight from BWI to FLL - there were 5 more that same day and it was the day before the cruise...
  7. @Normajean999 I checked the first week of dailies from my last cruise and don't see any specialty dining restaurants open for lunch - sea day or not.
  8. If only someone had posted some info so you didn't have to guess.. Oh, right, someone did, an hour before your post..
  9. Guests 1 and 2 each get 150 minutes on cruises 7-11 nights, it's in the T&C's Offer will be applied to the 1st and 2nd guest in the stateroom. https://www.ncl.com/about/terms-and-conditions/promotions
  10. My last cruise (my 5th on NCL) was my first time having laundry done I didn't either, until my 15-day. Now I'm Platinum and get a free bag, I'm sending it out on more cruises (I only go once a year, but still) and packing lighter!!!
  11. In your case - you're fortunate to live in proximity to a major city where this is an option. I live 3+ hours North, unless I make that 3+ hour drive to NY (or to Montreal or Boston for that matter as it's about the same to all 3) there is a ZERO chance I could get to Europe without at least one connection, and getting to a specific city in Europe could require two. Shoot - unless I'm going to a hub city there are VERY few non-stop flights from my home airport to domestic destinations!
  12. Oddly enough - my cancelled excursion was in a port that was very possible to be cancelled, Acapulco, but we ported there...
  13. @The Traveling Man using Google Earth I get a measurement of 1,080 feet for the graving dock. The Viva, per Wikipedia, is 981 feet. PLENTY of room. To give an idea of the scale of the space at the land end of the ship, it looks like a 20 foot container is in the dock behind the ship. That gives you considerably more than 50 feet of free space.
  14. Considering Aqua wasn't started until some time after Viva was complete, this would be the only explanation of timeline when two Prima class ships were in that location.
  15. Just be aware - if the excursion is cancelled on embarkation day or after the credit goes on your account in a very odd way, I got bitten by this. They initially refund the FULL PRICE of the excursion, if you booked pre-cruise and got the discount at the time of payment they will subsequently charge your account that $50. How did I get 'bit'? I thought I had a bunch of credit to use, not realizing it would be a second transaction to 'claw back' the excursion credit, so I paid for internet for the trip to use it. The next day is a $50 charge from shorex...
  16. I'm aware. Southwest emailed me and explained the options, I wanted the earlier flight as that allowed extra flight options from BWI to FLL in case of a delay at home or a cancellation in Baltimore. It turned out to work out - I got in to FLL around 1:30 or 2, didn't get to Miami until 4...
  17. Just make the reservation first, doesn't matter when in the cruise you want it. The system only recognizes the Free At Sea meals.
  18. Happened to me with my last cruise, but I self-booked the flights. About 6 weeks prior to the cruise Southwest decided to cancel the flight I had booked, forcing me from a 10:30 AM flight to a 6:30 AM flight. Both were the day before the cruise so it didn't matter much anyway, except that I no longer had a ride to the airport, I had to leave my car and my ride turned into them picking my car up instead (airport parking for 18 days would not have been cheap!!) It seems they're fiddling with things to most efficiently use their fleet.
  19. Who told you that you were in the "Haven Proper"? I would have asked what cabin number and verified for myself before agreeing to complete the booking. It's certainly something I would have done 2 minutes of research on once I got the room number...
  20. It wasn't much of a price increase, maybe $100 or so. I'm not sure if the PCC gave my friend the same 10% Latitudes discount that I used (it was his first cruise).
  21. and that market is surely drying up as they no longer expire. Unless someone has a need for the cash there's zero reason to sell anymore unless they absolutely never plan on sailing NCL again..
  22. Not the same ship, but should be similar fleet-wide, here's a recent previous thread (just entered vegan or vegetarian in the helpful search box) with similar discussion You might find more threads by using the search.
  23. The Solo Inside cabins are previously double-occupancy inside cabins. The bed absolutely should be able to be split.
