I never read reviews for ship info. I only read the reviews in the Immedient threads to see how much fun people are having.

But, have you ever went without knowing anything about the ship?  I haven't even peaked 😉  I might have to since it's getting so close.  We have been booked for at least a year...I think 😉  I was more focused on our Alaska cruise and all of a sudden, it's cruise time in less than 5 weeks 🙂

  2. We are going on the Horizon next month and I haven't even looked at the pictures of the ship, restaurants...anything!

I know where & when I'm boarding and what ship.

I have cruised so many times on many ships over & over that I wanted to be surprised.

I know there are specialty restaurants, not sure if we need a reservation, besides the steakhouse?

We are going to Aruba, Bonaire, La Romana & Amber Cove.  I have never been to Bonaire or La Romana (previous cruise it was a cancelled port due to wind).

This cruise we are meeting friends from England who will be staying @ the Hilton in La Romana, may do an independent excursion...any suggestions for us all to have a great day together?

  3. Since the Splendor and Spirit are coming back, do you think one may be switching up with the Miracle for Alaska this Spring/Summer?

I believe the Spirit has the closure for the back pool, it's been some years ago...just curious, I am sailing to Alaska in May 2022.

I don't see either of them having sailings after a short time in Jacksonville for the Spirit...hmmm

I found that the embarkation day is the lowest and the last sea day is the highest on the Mardi Gras.

I have taken over 40 Carnival cruises and usually would always book a massage.  I am over it...I am tired of someone trying to upsell me before, during and after.  My last cruise was in Nov. for my 60th birthday and the girl tried her damnest to sell me on anything she could.  I told her I have used some Elemis products since my first cruise in1995.  She told me my skin was dry (it's winter in ND) yes, it gets dry.  Then she tried selling me a product to bathe in, after I told her I wasn't interested, she went on to tell me how I might be interested in a collagen facial for my "deep lines and wrinkles" I told her I don't have any deep lines and if I have a wrinkle, I earned it...seriously all through the hallway of the spa.  I made a call to the spa and was refunded.  It was a terrible experience and no more!

The doors used to open so at least you could get fresh air, but now just floor to ceiling windows.  If you look at the deck plans you can see that some of those cabins are located between two life boats.  If you can snag one of those, you would have a sliver of a view.  Cabin 4148, 4140, 4132, etc.

I was able to snag 4148.  I feel better about that one, Thanks

  6. Thanks, I am wondering if a little day light is better than none.  I'm used to having a balcony, but for the price of port fees only on a 10 day cruise, I am thinking it might be okay to go up to a lounge or lido depending on the weather in Alaska.  A balcony is very pricey considering we have another cruise in Nov. for 8 days.  I always said I would only have a balcony for Alaska, but they can be chilly...what's your thoughts?
