After 15 cruises with Carnival, we are actually looking at Celebrity for our next one. Not sure that's the direction we'll take, but we were flat bored in the evenings on the Breeze due to the lack of entertainment and what was there was BAD -either awful the playlist production shows, comedy you couldn't get a seat for even arriving 45 minutes early, cheesy Hasbro game show one night, karaoke (which I can't stand to listen to).....there were a couple good solo guitarist and a good band onboard, but the times/places they would play were all over the place.

 

I think maybe we've either outgrown Carnival or the brand has just evolved away from us. Our first cruise in 2006 we had both live calypso and cover bands, 3 comedians that played in the main theatre at midnight where there was enough seating, a string trio, several pianists, a guitarist or two, several variety acts, and a full showband in the theatre with full cast for the shows. What Carnival has now kind of pales in comparison.

I feel the same way but keep going back yearning for what use to be. We wern't wow'ed by the Breeze either. We just booked the Freedom for Sept 27th with a totally refundable deposit so if we like Celebrity we will cnacel it...looking fowrad to no MUTS, bar drink package and gratuties included for $379 so were off to a great start !!!

I don’t know why they can't give us the Caribbean vibe music somewhere on the open deck for some period of time....maybe the Aft pool or a two hour window at the main pool.....now there's slim to none..........anyone know which cruise line still plays Calypso Reggae music at the pool????

519 eight nights Easter week....can't see it going lower.....

The beverage package will save me $600 to $800 for a five nights, they can rip me off anytime;)

If your driving make sure you put a snow shovel in the trunk...your never know what your going to come home to.....

We had/have a great TA and we loved working with him over the years....just not sure when or if we'll do Carnival again......

 

I also did not vote for the same reason as you. DW and I are more interested to see what the improvements are to other live music/bands on the ship. If Carnival Live was the only change, then not a winner with us, but patiently waiting to see what else changes.

Always, always check what's happening in the city you are cruising from. Hopefully the ships will be holding for late arrivals. Hoping for a happy ending!

OP can’t be the only one...I bet the port authority knows and will communicate with the ships....I bet they delay departure's...

Agree other specialty restaurants at sea don't compare to Carnival's steakhouse....it too has suffered cutback however I still think its a great meal.

Great review, your giving me hope that some day I may return.

Repo's are usually bottom bargains when they are released.. $3400 for a balcony on a 14 day ( even the bowling alley) is to much. Repos are again I say usually way less than a $100 a day per person.. I'll just have to price watch..

WOW pretty good program........dang I really could of taken advantage of that on several occasions.

Booked with Celebrity for first time and found it from email from C-Con.....no issues with them, we just don't like that we can't act on our own with the cruise line from here out ......will never do it again ...were just too engaged to let go like this again.....

There are 4 (I think) drinks, like a standard Martinis and a cosmo. They poured them in slightly smaller glasses like the ones used at Elite receptions and such.

New to Celebrity so how small....on Carnival that glass would be like 5 tablespoons of beverage?

Here's my take,

 

1, they're way too short, do at least 2 of them together

 

2, much more of a party crowd than you usually see on Celebrity.

I've been on 3 different 5 night cruises with X, 2 of them on Connie....in NO WAY are they like a Carnival cruise. I guess they are more of a party crowd then the longer cruises but I didn't notice anything particularly different except perhaps the nights went a little later than on longer cruises....you'll have a good time...no worries....:)

I can only hope!

Anyone know if there are any drinks you can get at the martini bar with the classic package......
