  1. Hi, it’s been many years since we went to Great stirrup cay but I had a vague memory that they used to require a life jacket when snorkeling. If so, do they charge you to rent one from them? If it makes any difference we will be on the Getaway. Thx
  2. Hi, I was looking at the soda package and was curious. What do they mean by bar juices? Unlimited Soda Package DETAILS Enjoy endless fountain soda including Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, ginger ale, tonic water, Fanta and soda water and bar juices for $9.95 USD per person per day. Soda packages available for adults and children 3 years old and up.
  3. Mine says BOAVIP... 20 years ago I used to have the NCL card, I think from Bank of America but it was closed long ago. Weird
  4. It was for specialty restaurant like Le Bistro and Teppanyaki. I just called NCL. They said no availability for 8 earlier then 9PM. And also, they cannot make me 2 reservations with only 4 per table, as one would overwrite the next one.
  5. Hi, Was just curious, its 125 days until sailing and dining reservations just opened. I need to make specialty dining reservations for party of 8. But online says only 9PM slot is available in all the restaurants. Is this something I or my TA need to call in to make? Or is it they can't handle until 9PM? Asking as we have 2 toddlers, so their bedtime is at 8PM already. Thanks
  6. Ok. Lol I was just confirming, since the other cruise line I just sailed was different! Apparently the key word means something different sometimes with others companies. 🤷‍♀️. Because Royal Caribbean let me book shore excursions and order stuff like water package BEFORE I was ONBOARD the ship with my ONBOARD CREDIT. And I didn’t have to switch anything after I was on the ship. So that is why I was asking. I will just wait then, to get on the ship before doing those for our NCL sailing. 😂
  7. Thanks, for confirming, its different then Royal Caribbean, as they let you use the onboard credit before getting onboard 🙂
  8. Hi, Sorry, I can't remember what it is for NCL. Last month when I sailed w/ RCCL, I was able to use my OBC from TA/Shareholder, while making shore excursion, and water/beverage packages before getting onboard. Is that the same for NCL? Or do I need to actually be onboard first to spend it? Thanks!
  9. Thanks! Expiration is in 2024 and 2026 so I think it will be ok.
  10. Hi, Was wondering, as I have never had this happen before. If I have a booking where I just have a Cruise Next deposit, and final payment date is Dec 6th... if I need to cancel the booking, are there any fees or anything associated with this? Asking as my mom and I made a booking last week. And we asked NCL to transfer one of my Cruise Next to my sister's account. At this time, my TA had put a hold on my sister's room. But this morning, when the CN certificate made it over, the hold had expired, and now we are being quoted $800 more for her cabin. Which is now over 20% over the original quoted price. My TA said she is going to try and fight NCL again on this, as they were the ones who told her the certificate would transfer in time before hold expire. But in case she doesn't win, I was wondering, if we can still cancel mine and my mom's room w/o penalty. She said was going to try and ask NCL this question too tomorrow. But she didn't want to bring that up w/ NCL until trying to fight one more time. Thanks!
  11. Hi, We saw it say it varies by ship, due to staffing issues. Is the Getaway running their kids clubs yet? We just booked for next April. thanks
  12. I am slightly confused, but for diff issue. Although my TA is going to try and find out. I just booked a T1 solo cabin on the Getaway. And my TA is trying to figure out if the amex perks apply to me, as she said thought it was for double occupancy rooms or those that are paying single supplement. But T1 can't support double occupancy and doesn't have the supplement.
  13. Yes, some folks left. However, the expectation set was that it would be 30 min to 1 hour outside and everyone should be cleared by 10:30AM. We were last call group, so went out at 10AM. So we only took our passports/birth certificates out with us and I had a kids activity set for my toddler niece & nephew. If we knew it would be 3-4x that expected time, we would have probably not planned to stay onboard vs going out and prepared accordingly.
  14. Ironically the custom parts was the quick part. We got off the ship in the 10-10:30am time frame as expected. They separate you vs if u have passport vs birth certificates, etc. I had passport. I walked up to some biometric face thing and less than 5 seconds was done. The whole waiting fiasco was after that.
  15. They said no. There were those that wanted to stay on board ship and didn’t read their instructions and went out with their assigned ticket time instead of last call. The instructions they gave said to ignore your assigned ticket if you want to stay on board. They had to wait from like 8-9am. Literally they started making announcements several times for this and even warned others that this already happened to a few and they can’t get back on until everyone clears, even to get something.
  16. I am on this sailing. This was a planned thing. It was in the app since day 1 when we started the cruise. We are doing immigration as we finished our Coco cay and Nassau stops the 2 days prior. So this is our first US port of call. I think majority of folks on my sailing are in FB vs this site. But there were tickets, and even a sheet of instruction delivered at least a day or so earlier. Announcements etc. Because my family choose to stay on the ship in Miami instead of going off. We were in the Last Call group at 10am. And according to the sheet they expected to complete immigration for everyone by 10:30am. But instead we were all standing out in the sun, for several hours because 33 PASSENGERS decided that this didn’t apply to them and had to be hunted down. Like literally someone posted that they saw one guy sitting on their balcony. Another girl was just at the pool!! And so for my family at least, we didn’t get back on board until almost 2pm😞. Long lines everywhere even when trying to get back on the ship as they wouldn’t let anyone back on. At least some folks who went earlier got to be in the air conditioned terminal and sitting on chairs. We were outside in the heat. None of the Rccl employees were outside with us. They stayed in the air conditioned terminal. So no one was telling us what was happening. We only knew about the 33 folks cause others that happened to be in the terminal were overhearing from employees. Outside we knew nothing and didn’t even get water or anything. Once we got back onboard, the capt made an announcement on board to apologize and said a letter would be sent to try and make up for some of this. this is first time I got off ship for this. But last time I did this when sailing RCCL in Asia and I think immigration came onboard and they called us by floors. I am going to say that was a lot more comfortable then this round
  17. Hi, it’s been years since we sailed rccl. I was wondering do they still do the thing where you can collect checkmark on a card throughout the cruise for doing certain activities like walk a mile or some of the cruise director staff activities? And at the end of cruise you redeem for like Knick knacks like magnet or something? thanks
  18. Thanks all, we cruise this weekend and have been watching them load the activities on the app. No stretching/fitness classes yet for seaplex, only the Vitality fitness center, and while other things in app, specified an age, these didn't, so thought I'd check with all of you. Yes, we plan on signing up for kids club when we board. Just kids club says not open I think til like 9AM. So we thought if they were allowed, take them to stretch class at 7AM, then breakfast, then kids club. They are used to waking up early to get to school/day care. 🙂
  19. Hi, My 5 year old niece was asking me the other day, if ship has something like Baby yoga, which I guess is what they do in their local gym. Would I be able to take her to like one of those free stretch classes in the morning or is there an age limit? Thanks!
  20. I called a few days ago to identify my beverage, as we all emerald. I was told each person would get one bottle/can of their choice and a cookie, and cookie is same as what is in windjammer. If you don't choose, you get water. And if they are kids, then the choice is water. Also juice is no longer a choice.
  21. Hi, Is the only way to pick what the welcome drink is for the welcome day benefit for the Emerald and up tiers, is to call or can someone direct me to where to find it online? I tried the upgrade preferences URL that is listed on the rccl site, but it just takes me to my account area. Thanks!
  22. I am also relatively new. this is only my 2nd booking, but this is what I was told. Not all travel agents have the amex partnership. My original travel agent who i used last month for NCL cruise told me they discontinued their partnership w/ Amex last month and told me he could book my RCCL cruise, but I would have to call in to amex on my own for benefits. I called into Amex to find out what they would need when I call in. They told me, Don't do that. Cause lots of folks try and the thing is that they said their system doesn't allow them to just apply them to external bookings like that. If the Travel agent has a partnership, they are given access to some site which will gives them a code to apply to your booking. So advise you ask first before booking w/ any travel agent. My new TA wasn't advertising the amex benefits, but when I asked, she said they did have the partnership, and was able to get it applied to my booking. The free travel insurance that the card comes w/ does not have any medical. I called to ask last month. And so my family end up buying a 3rd party one for piece of mind. Advise you to call Amex and ask the rest of your questions. They were easy for me to get ahold of to ask. I am not sure what you mean by split 2 amex. But with your one amex, you can have the benefits applied up to 3 rooms, as long as amex holder is also on same booking. I was the only one w/ card and since I paid for my parents room too, with it, they also received benefits.
  23. Thanks, I been sailing NCL lately, so forgot not all cruise lines have a MDR open then.
  24. Hi, It's been awhile since we sailed RCCL. I was wondering, is there a dining room that is open for lunch when you first get on board or is the only choice the buffet? Thanks!
  25. Thanks, I sailed NCL last month, and they said that non-refundable obc, I could not use for daily service charge, so wanted to check.
