  1. We're flying to NO, they booked a direct flight leaving SFO at 10:30am to NO arriving around 6pm. Return trip 1 stop in Denver layover 1.5 hr
  2. Yes, we got email 3 weeks ago with the flight info
  3. when you book a future cruise onboard any AQV boat, they give you 10% off the cruise rate plus the best discount available at the time of the booking, and 100 onboard cruise credit. Deposit is $500 or $1,000 per person depending on the length of the cruise, which is better than the cruise paid in full at time of booking. Final payment due 120 days before the cruise.
  4. thanks for the information, we were on the Duchess when it broke down in Hannibal, MO at the end of July, and they also used a tug to push it, and boarded the Countess right after with the tug pushing it. Sure if you are correct that it's costing them $12k/day, just think how much they will lose and how disappointed their passengers would be if they had to cancel their cruises. They stepped up and did what they had to do. The tug pushing the boats did not effect the atmosphere cruising down the river. Way to go AQV!
  5. I have the Holiday cruise on AQ over New Year's and the airfare is included, so I find out, and will try to post results.
  6. OBC are not allowed to be used for gratuities. We had to use some for transfer to the airport, and items in the gift ship.
  7. Hotel stay is in Chicago, and yes, it's about a 80 bus ride to Ottawa to meet the ship
  8. If you normally don't play in the casino, then don't play now. Remember, nothing is free. I don't play on land and I just started to play on the ship last October because I love to cruise. My wife is worried about me getting dementia because it runs in my family, so she told me to play, so I can think and chat more with other players, even though she hates the casino. So far, it's been very enjoyable with the discounted and/or free cruises, and free play.
  9. Sorry, you both came down with covid, hope you both have a speedy recovery. Like you I spent many hours on the tables in the casino, but didn't catch covid, maybe because I wore a mask? I got my usual free inside cabin with Princess Plus and $350 in free play, so I did book another Alaska cruise going to Glacier Bay this time. I also booked a VIP offer CA Classic for an inside cabin with $400 free play, and no Princess Plus onto my north Coastal to have a b2b. I upgraded the inside cabins to outside obstructed for a small fee.
  10. Very good observations and comments, hopefully you passed them along to Princess in your survey. Hope your family have a speedy recovery.
  11. Yes, it makes a big difference. I'm in the casino most days/nights and I can tell the difference, but the clothes have no filters, lol.
  12. I understand what you mean that's why I wear a mask. I'm allergic to the smoke.
  13. We usually have at least 3 on file, casino deals come so often now.
  14. there are places you can sit away from others, the theater is usually not completely filled, like before. Some of the shows are worth seeing like the production shows. Whatever you do, Enjoy!!!! In Prince Rupert, if it's low tide, go toward the Home Run building onto the right hand side of the pier, and look under the Home Run building. We saw about 6 or 7 bald eagles feasting on the seafood, before you get to the pier, look into the trees on your right, there were a few eagles in the trees.
  15. you should be able to make reservations for Michelangelo, as I did for 5pm party of 4 private table. Definitely less crowded at 5pm, Michelangelo is a great choice my favorite because on deck 5, there are seats to sit if you are early for dinner, on deck 6, DaVinci no seating outside. Welcome to Princess and I hope you have a great cruise! Before you disembark the ship, if you are thinking about another Princess cruise, I suggest that you place a future cruise deposit of $100 per person towards your next cruise and you will be guaranteed onboard credits on your next cruise, the amount depends on the length of cruise and cabin type. You don't have to decide on your future cruise now, and you can find your best deal and use your own TA or Princess to book your cruise. If you decide not to cruise again within 2 years, Princess will refund your deposit.
  16. I don't believe at 6:20pm, you probably will not get your table for 2 unless you make your reservation for table for 2 precruise. Remember the doors open at 5pm, so you have 1 hour and 20 minutes of passengers already eating and occupying space that will be around your table. We always eat early at 5pm and always have space around us and have the same table every night. Good luck! You probably have a better chance for space around in Bottecelli because that restaurant has fewer diners, but remember this MDR is at the aft of the ship and is harder to access and the theater is at the other end of the ship, when you venture there to see the show.
  17. I'm very sorry that you caught covid, and hope you are feeling better. Nobody really knows where you caught virus, it's possible you got it in the dining room. Did you wear your mask onboard? Since the virus is transmitted airborne, it's possible that you got the virus anywhere on the ship or out on the port.
  18. we eat in the dining room for breakfast everyday in a sharing table for 14 cruises, and we eat in the MDR early for dinner when it's less busy, and have not contracted covid yet. I guess we are very lucky. I know of 3 persons coming down with covid on our June 19th cruise, and 54 persons on the June 9th cruise, so there is covid onboard. Covid is NOT running rampant on the ship, and Princess does follow their protocols to isolate the covid patients. So, you just have to be careful and protect yourselves. We wear our mask when we are out and about the ship, in the casino and in ports, but not many are, which is their right.
  19. Great narrative of your experience on the cruise, I'm glad you had a great time, and as did I and my family. It was nice to see you again, and hope to see you on another cruise. I reacted to the blue bags situation and canapes, but was not a complaint. I told my steward we only needed the make up the cabin in the AM only, and if we needed anything, we would see him in the PM. We enjoyed the new items in the International cafe in the AM. The shows were very good in the theater. We enjoyed Prince Rupert, and saw many eagles up show under the Home Run building because they were feasting on the seafood left by the low tide.
  20. We also got off today, too, and had a wonderful cruise. I'm very sorry that you both tested positive for Covid. Hopefully, you will have a speedy recovery. Your remedy for their safety procedures probably wouldn't hurt, but most passengers take the antigen test prior to boarding and that test only tells you the window when you take the test whether you are positive or negative. The Covid virus could be in hibernation during this time. We all have to protect ourselves because the virus is still around, whether on a cruise ship, a ball game, or a visit to Costco. My family have been very lucky so far, by continuing to wear our facemask, when we're out and about the ship, and in port. We also avoid crowded elevators.
  21. Not sure you really want to watch the movies outside, this cruise it's been windy and cold, there are movies shown in the Princess Theater through the day. All the movie shown outside and the theater are shown inside your cabin.
  22. It was mostly rocking and rolling when the ship was in ocean water going north from SF and the inner passage, and south from the inner passage to SF. The ship was steady in the inner passage. Of course, everything depends on the winds.
  23. Masks are not required on cruises from SF. They are optional. Some passengers wear mask, but most do not. Personally, I and my family do wear mask, and yes, there is covid onboard, but NOT running rampant.
