I guess that amounts to the same thing? If it’s refundable it COULD go toward the CN certificates couldn’t it? Or, I’d just get it back in cash (?) at the end of the trip? Is that right?

That is correct. They may or may not cancel and reprice for you on the ship but it's worth a try.

Thank you for clearing it up @julig22.  I'll have to figure out another way to help offset the costs for the kids!

You can always let them charge part of the cost on your card and then use a statement credit to pay for it. Not nearly the value of an upgrade but some help for the kids.

I'm wondering if I should find a way to talk to the special needs dept. to see if this is true.  I know you have said you have been in suites but were they all accessible as well?  Have you been in OS with them?

Thanks for any information you can give me.

Call the NCL Access Desk at 866-584-9756. They can tell you exactly how wide the doors are and whether the chair will fit. Scootaround should also know but check with NCL Access to be sure.

I had the same thing happen today, and did what you did.  I increased my bids a bit, despite that I had already bid what I wanted my max bid to be, and was immediately informed again that I needed to bid more.  That was enough of that for me!  This actually has me feeling like cancelling my bids entirely.  It feels manipulative.

In May of 2022 I received notice that I was outbid for the Joy 2 BR suite. I immediately went in and lowered my bid. (Can't make me bid more 🤣) Two days later I got the email that we were upgraded from the HI to the 2-bedroom suite. I think when they don't have what they consider high enough bids, they try to get you to bid more. Why else did we get awarded it when I lowered our bid? Just my humble opinion.

Just wanted to make you all aware that B of A will be having "More Rewards Day" once again this year.  It will be on Thursday, November 9th.  All purchases (up to a $2,500) limit will receive an extra 2 points per dollar.  If you are a preferred rewards member, the extra reward from B of A is only calculated based only on the normal 3 points per dollar spent.

Figures....we will be in the middle of the ocean on a cruise then.

How far in advance should  I  redeem points for onboard credit.  Does it have to be done a certain number of days before sail date ?

But better yet, charge the things you want to use the OBC for to get the triple points and then request a statement credit to pay off the charges. This way you earn points on your charges and still have the same amount to not have to pay.

Can OBC for pax 1 or 2 be used to buy dining package or a la carte for pax 3 at specialty restaurants?

On the ship, Yes, even if you have separate accounts after the charge is made you just have to both visit Guest Services and they will transfer the charge from the 3rd passenger's account to the person with the OBC. You both must be there to sign that you know the charge is being transferred. You can even do it between cabins.

  8. 16 hours ago, Russiamomm said:

True.  It’s per cabin.  They divide the OBC among the people in the cabin.  I often travel with a friend.  We each have selerate accounts and our own charges are put on our separate credit cards, I own the stock,  but they give her half the credit.  LOL.  Not an issue.  We work it out between ourselves.  But be warned - this is how it works.

It doesn't have to be. If you aren't traveling with a spouse or partner just put a note on the application form that you want the OBC to all be posted to your account and not shared. I've done it before when I cruised with friends....my shares - my OBC!

Said it before in another thread, I think the Viva and Prima are a different sailing experience than what some are used to.  That doesn't bother me.  Matter of fact, I embrace different.

I agree! I have been on the Prima twice and loved it both times! Do not take other people's word for it! Try it for yourself and make up your own mind.

In my experience, even if you apply a couple of weeks early they sit on the request until the correct timeframe.

We've had our date, time and location for our M&G on the Getaway in November for at least 2-3 weeks already. People on the roll call wanted to know when it would be so I went ahead and emailed them at the beginning of June and got a reply about a week later. But I think each ship does it their own way so YMMV.

How did you like Los Lobos and Le Bistro?

Food was fantastic in Los Lobos but we went on Cinco de Mayo so it was jammed. Reservations were about 20-30 minutes delayed. We already had our entrees and still did not have the "made at the table guac" so DH cancelled it. We did make it out in time for the fantastic Donna Summer show.

Le Bistro was great as usual. I had the tenderloin which I always seem to order. It was melt in your mouth good!

Oh!!! You've got me looking. I love that itinerary. If I can just convince our bank account for this one. Oooolalala, we might be cruising together! We can build our own garbage plates. 🙂

George and I are also on this cruise in fact I'm coordinating the M&G & LCR. Another person is doing the Slot Pull. Book and then come join the roll call.

Billions of debt?  That will take a lot longer to dig out of, and it's not the cruise lines' fault that they were shut down for a year and a half.

That is exactly why I am willing to take all the cutbacks. It's not their fault but if too many keep leaving to try other cruise lines they will never get back on their feet. Notice I didn't say I'm going anywhere else/

I think they do.  NCL is in a hypercompetitive business, and feedback from people who actually just got off a ship is likely as good as they'll get.

I hope they do. I complained about no trash can or towel racks in October and they are still not there. I also ended the survey that I heard many people saying they will try other cruise lines because of all the cutbacks.

received this today and yes, I was brutally honest. I mentioned the good, the bad and the ugly (not too much there). I hope they take the feedback seriously.

Got mine too today. I was also very honest. No towel racks or trash can in a haven suite bathroom is crazy. (I took liner out of the trashcan in the living room and put it into the bathroom. That is what they did when we were on the ship in October.)  We actually had shelves in the shower, toilet stall and by the sink but having to put the hand towel on the tiny counter without it getting into the sink and wicking up the water was annoying. Also mentioned the incident with the last-minute change for LCR. I doubt a human even looks at our surveys, but I tried anyway.

We haven't been impressed with our last few visits to Cagneys so we skipped it completely. Did LeBistro, Hasaki, Los Lobos and Onda instead.

    Love the Swizzle Inn!!

Do you know which Swizzle Inn you went to?  The original?  Or South Shore?

I had heard a rumor, that one of them closed, but cannot find any information about it.

The original Swizzle Inn is the only one open. The pandemic closed the south shore one and afaik it has not reopened.Edited to say….. Oops didn’t see this was already answered.
