  1. Yes I didn't think that sounded like too much more to pay for so many more drinks to be included. Maybe they are trying to get everyone into the Elite package.
  2. It appears new updated bar menus are coming for 2024 and I for one am extremely happy about the change in policy for the beverage packages. You will now only pay the difference if your beverage is over the price limit of the package you've purchased. There are also some pretty significant changes to the wine offerings. I haven't spotted too many other changes yet. Anyone see anything else of note? Here are the new menus... Holland America New Bar Menus for 2024
  3. So, just to double check, elegant nights were nights 2 and 4? They've always been on nights 2 and 5 on my prior 6 night itineraries (at least that's my recollection). I'm enjoying all the food photos! Making me starving though.
  4. That's long been a complaint I've had about NCL. On several other cruise lines I've sailed, it's on the app. Get with the program NCL! Hopefully these posted menus are accurate, because I'm relying them to plan for my speciality nights too.
  5. There was a thread I was reading where someone was asking about the dinner menus past 7 night cruises and whether the menus just start to repeat. Now I can't find the original post, but in another group I belong to someone posted all the current menus for a 10 night cruise and they do not just repeat on nights 8,9,10. Here are the menus: NCL 10 night menus
  6. "One of my favorite things about cruising is trying new menu items without having to pay a premium price like I would have to do at a land restaurant." Me too!
  7. I was wondering about this too and found this great review: Wines Around the World Review
  8. FYI, I found all the menus for 7 nights posted here, so you don't have to search for them on the app: New Celebrity Dinner Menus
  9. I like getting the cheese plate too. Hopefully they bring that back in the final version if enough people request it.
  10. Lol! Yes. Pretty much the same thing except for the little jelly blob in the middle.
  11. Yes, those look fantastic! I've always loved Emeril's food.
  12. That's the only one released so far as today is the first day. Others should be coming in the next days.
  13. Apologies, I didn't see one with the actual menu. Maybe I missed it.
  14. Yes, I hope they keep the fruit soups or as my wife calls them "ice cream soup!"
  15. I found the new dinner menus being tested on the Dream posted here. So far I'm impressed. The lamb dishes sound delicious. Some nice fish too. Wish there were a few more desserts to choose from, although the melting cake is always a sure thing. What do you think? I'm eager to see the rest of them as the days go on. See them here: NEW Carnival dinner menus
  16. This will be my first time cruising on Christmas and I just saw the special Christmas menu. It looks phenomenal with so many delicious sounding choices. I was getting tired of the same old menus, so this will be a welcome addition. I know many like to eat at specialities on Christmas, but I'll be sticking with the main dining room! Anyone else onboard for Christmas? What dish are you most excited for? I'll be ordering the Rib Eye Tartare, the Cheese Soup, the Turkey and the Pecan Pie. If you haven't seen the menu yet, it's posted here: https://profcruise.com/carnivals-christmas-menu-2022/
  17. Yes, and it's not like they are going to start charging Carnival prices. If I'm getting a budget cruise, I want to pay budget prices.
  18. If anyone else wants to see all the new menus as well as the old menus for comparison sake, I found them all posted here: Royal Caribbean NEW menus on Symphony of the Seas and OLD menus. While I'm definitely not happy about all the cuts, I can understand the need to streamline the menus. I just wish Royal would be transparent about why they are doing it. It's a cost cutting measure. Period. As a stockholder and cruise lover, I want to see the line thrive. But these cuts seem extreme. It's looking more and more like the Carnival menu. And there are reasons I don't cruise Carnival!
  19. Is anyone else cruising over Thanksgiving this year or cruised over past Thanksgivings? This will be my first year onboard and I'm wondering what to expect. It will be a bit strange not doing our usual family gathering, but it will be nice not having to worry about anything and just relax and enjoy the day. Are there any special activities that take place? I did see this special Thanksgiving dinner menu posted and it looks delicious. I'm happy I can still get a traditional meal onboard. I appreciate any insights you can share from your experience.
  20. According to John Heald, the flaming tomato soup has been added back. It's a favorite of mine, so I'm happy it's returning. I just wondered if anyone has seen it yet and if there are any other changes to the brunch menu. Sailing soon and hoping to order the soup!
  21. That's an interesting take on it. You could be right. Will be interesting to see if the fixed menu makes it better or worse.
