  1. Had an awesome time. Was very sad about missing Belize. Made the best of it. The parental warnings were interesting. Lots of kids but most well behaved but they were in Neptune hot tub at all hours. I called it kid soup. Here's a pic of the first page of the parental advisory. 2. Due to high winds at night it became too dangerous for us to sail to Belize. The captain announced other cruise ships have done the same. Sad that I will be missing the one excursion I was really wanting to do... The Luminai (sp) ruins. Will make the best of our day at sea. The captain announced a new schedule of events will come out soon. Kicked off the day in the DaVinci dining room with an excellent frittata.

  3. Technically, its non refundable. That said, I would call and ask if they might be kind enough to convert it to non-refundable obc....

Ohhh, I like that idea! That's why we have these forums... ideas! :) Thank you.

  4. Has anyone cancelled a BVE? We are sailing out Sunday from Houston. Our friend from Houston who is hosting us cannot do the BVE that I paid for. I presume it's non-refundable but wanted to check in here to see if anyone has experience with cancelling.

I am totally bummed. I was looking forward to having our friend join us so we could board early and enjoy the time together but he has a last minute business commitment on Sunday. :(

  5. I had signed up our friend who is hosting us in Houston for BVE.. and I paid for it. He cannot do it due to work travel. I presume there isn't a refund or way to cancel. Any thoughts on this?

  6. We are leaving next Sunday - for a week - Western Caribbean. Do you know for sure it was leaving today and not tomorrow?

We had fog delay once out of Galveston was hoping we'd have better luck this time.

    Thanks for the info, Edie

Leaving next Sunday too out of Houston. My hard earn vacation better not get messed up by Mother Nature. :) Or someone just make sure I have a cocktail at all times.

  7. No - you won't see anything if you are the sailing passenger and nothing will be on your Boarding Pass. I just called the BVE Desk with this exact question. I was assured that DH & I would be on the BVE list along with the names of our non-sailing friends.

Your friend's boarding pass will identify them as BVE guests, and you are "with them."

I did confirm with the BVE Desk that our bookings are linked, and she said we are good to go. (We will all be checking in at the same time.)

    Enjoy your BVE.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. It helps a great deal. I didn't want to have to call Princess again. So excited for the BVE for our friend.. it's a nice way (at least I think) to say thank you for letting us stay at his home in Houston before the cruise.

  8. Got this message after I logged in to check cruise personalizer for my November cruise.

In light of recent national news regarding the Ebola virus, we wish to advise you that we have adopted new boarding procedures and screenings following collaboration with the international health authorities. We are screening for any guests or crew who have visited or traveled through countries with a US CDC Level 3 Travel Warning (Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea) or had physical contact with or helped care for a person suspected of having Ebola within 21 days of a cruise departure date. These individuals will be denied boarding. We are also monitoring bookings for any guests coming from these countries. Princess Cruises has in place robust medical protocols that are consistent with public health guidance. We are monitoring the situation closely, along with our colleagues in the rest of the travel industry. Guests seeking more information on Ebola can visit the World Health Organization's website at http://www.who.int or the CDC website at http://www.cdc.gov/vhf/ebola/. Should you have any questions about these travel requirements, please call 1-800-774-6237 to speak with a Princess Guest Relations agent.

  9. Tried to book BVE for a friend who live in Houston and hosting us for the night before the cruise. BVE was available but I did not have all his information. Needed birth-date when I called in. When you call it in you need birth-date, address, phone.

  10. It has been my experience though my cruise history with Princess (4 Westbound T/A's; 2 Hawaii r/t from LA, and a Aus-Nz itinerary) that the ships always are full or nearly full (especially on the T/A's). I've never had a problem with the ships feeling crowded. Even on the Royal, which was my least favorite of my 7 cruises, I never felt crowded.....:):):)

    Bob

That's good to know. Being crowded and being in lines are not how I like to spend my hard earned money.
