I usually prefer the bed be closer to the balcony, because there is more room in front of the closet to get dressed/ready when changing to go to the pool, dinner, excursions, etc. But My biggest priority is always to get an angled balcony, so I will happily accept a bed by the closet if it means I get my bigger balcony!

This is literally the last thing that would ever even go through my mind.  Hahaha

Well, then I guess that proves my thought wrong. 😉 I guess it must just be a glitch in their system. Crazy how some reservations are/always were correct while others were/still are wrong. How some people were changed over to Encore in the same room while others had their rooms change. Craziness! I feel bad for those that are still having problems with the switch.

The IT department at NCL needs some retooling I think

Mine has been fixed as well. Got one last week that said we owed a lot of additional money but now it has been corrected. I had not paid anything but the deposit though. I wonder if the issues are showing up on people's that had already paid in full (or maybe even made partial payments?) - Just a thought, could be wrong...

Mine was fully paid.  It’s been corrected though since last Friday I believe

Disagree.  The CSO was included in the legislation in order to smooth its passage by both parties. It was highly unlikely that any exemption to the PVSA that did not require compliance with federal law would have been uncontested. If an amendment is required because injunctive relief is granted, the legislation will be dead in the water.  Not to worry though. The judge has scheduled a hearing on a brief by the CDC arguing ratification of the CSO under the Alaska legislation, which will effectively be a motion to dismiss Florida’s suit. My prediction is Florida’s injunctive relief is denied and the case languishes in trial or is dismissed as moot. Meanwhile sailing resumes.

    I agree 💯

My encore / formerly bliss cruise for August is still broken (the amount of money I “owe” has changed from $700, to $88, back to $700). I’m intending to cancel this cruise because I no longer believe the cruise industry is going to enforce vaccinations (see: RCCL. Not just being a crank). However, when I spoke to the rep on Friday, I wasn’t able to cancel because, haha, the broken bookings can’t be altered while they are in a “broken” state. So they can’t be canceled.

I’m 9 days out from no-refund territory, or whatever the 60 day policy even is. (Yes, I gave them real money, and yes I regret it. Learn from my moment of over-exuberance at the thought of actually traveling again. Seriously, treat it as gambling money or buy meme stocks instead or whatever.)

I’m usually pretty detail-oriented and cautious, don’t tend to jump the gun on things, and so I usually don’t end up in these situations. Becoming one of those stories on CC where you just kind of feel bad for the person and how long they’re going to have to fight with NCL to get their money back? Not something I ever expected to be. It’s actually sort of funny, except the money part.

I’m pretty sure even RCCL is requiring vaccination in Alaska.  It’s their FL and TX sailings I believe

Celebrity Equinox was named on one cruise news site as the second ship approved, but I haven’t seen anyone else reporting that. Cruise Industry News reported that the CDC has approved port agreements for 22 ships sailing out of several different home ports including Seattle, but no names released.

Final payment is due soon for all of the initial Alaska cruises including Encore. I’d kinda like to know if we’re approved to sail before then!

My guess is you will see that officially I announced this week.

Back before NCL offered the drink package (by norming it across all guests and including the cost in the fare), the popular refrain on CC was that people wished NCL would just include the drinks so they don't have to worry about the bar bill.

    Quite ironic, no?

I would never decline this. It’s the biggest expense and I love having it already included. I would say it’s wildly popular with most people
