So I’m being told the same thing as above.  They are going to switch everything to encore and it will be just a ship swap.  

Well this is an interesting development.  The 2 are nearly identical so as long it’s just a ship swap I don’t care.  Hopefully the person above who said this was the case is correct.

I don’t know. I’m doing the Lisbon to Rio on the star in November 2022.   

Harvest Caye is awesome.  It’s different from GSC because there are other vendors other than just NCL.   The beach is beautiful and the pool is massive.  It’s a fun day.  Also you’re NCL drink package doesn’t apply like it does on GSC.

If I do it myself the. I don’t think it’s the same thing.  I also stated that sometimes I call and they do it for me.  It would be different if that person works directly for them.  

I typically book myself or directly through my PCC.... it’s pretty much the only phone I actually answer

I’m pretty sure the state and cruise lines will hammer out a deal.  Unfortunately desantis is a smart guy and realizes his posturing will eventually Cost him.

for a living so cruising is my true vacation.  I booked the gem on the second day it was available For sale.  After seeing what royal did, I started to wonder what ncl would do.  When they took the joy cruises off the website, I called and jumped over to the bliss Alaska cruise.  I’m not really sure Alaska is gonna be for me, but if it’s too cold for me then I have the ship for entertainment hahah 

Glad I switched my sailing to the bliss in Alaska.  Had a feeling this would happen.  Sucks

I know y’all are good planners and such but for this one, we just gonna have to wait it out a little longer. If you’re from the US, Not sure if you realize, but most other NCL cruisers’ countries and staff countries are under strict travel restrictions right now. So it’s not gonna be over for everyone till it’s over for all of us.

 

let’s see how the situation looks toward July when NCL actually start moving Human Resources and assets around, and in the meantime, if you’re in the US, enjoy maskless heaven within your borders now and get those vaccination rates up. Canada and UK have well surpassed the US’ first-dose vaccination rate now (you won’t hear that in the US media) and the US has to catch up if they are going to even have any hope going launching cruises with the current CDC standards. That is how the UK was able to launch its first domestic cruise last week. 

 

So make sure your ”peeps” (as the young ones say) go and get those shots, because the daily US per capita vaccination rates are dismal right now (back down to February levels) despite being awash in this white gold. (Again: You won’t hear this on mainstream US media like FOX or CNN, but it’s all over the news everywhere else). China is currently administering 16 million per day with totals of over 500 million. THAT is the level the US needs to be at for cruises to truly resume. Facts.
 

If you want to go cruising, telling your friends, family, workers and everyone else, to get the vaccine, is the #1 thing you can do, in your communities right now, to make cruising a reality, faster. Stop focusing on booking vapor-cruises and putting your energy into that instead. I mean, many of you are all retired, what’s the urgency in booking so far out? You got that much going in your retirement during lockdown that you can’t plan around a one week cruise and a 3 hour flight?

 

Not to mention, the last thing you want is not enough people vaccinated, another resurgence and wave, and we can kiss US cruises goodbye until 2022 minimum. How depressing is that?

I just switched from the Gem to the Bliss... I think Alaska has a better chance of actually going.  Plus, for me, it’s a much longer flight but easier to deal with Seattle than getting to La Romana.

I thought about that too actually still am, but now I wanna know what they are up to hahaha. I assume they would prefer to bring it back to a US port of embarkation. Miami is the best for me but I don’t really care which one now.   I’m booked on Gem in October.  

Think they replace the joy with smaller in Montego Bay?

I wouldn’t put to much into this response. It’s kind of been the standard answer for a year now.  They certainly are not making decisions based on ports in the Caribbean. With the exception of grand cayman, all the other islands are open and regularly receiving guests.
