You speak to CCL and all cruise lines with your wallet. If these changes are meaningful enough for you, then change your plans (as you did in canceling the reservation) or on a more grand scale, your vacationing choice. Their driver (why they do these things) is clear. They are still in the VERY active phase oof trying to recover from an extreme financial position (over 39 billion in debt) not of their own doing. These are the facts. My suggestion is that if you feel strongly enough on these topics, after you cruise, let them know this. THAT is the way to affect change,

I would agree it is certainly not in the cross hairs with Carnival to sail from SJ as a homeport. My guess (no inside knowledge) is that it would have way more to do with the financials (of costs tied to home porting a ship there) as opposed to cruise length. When they sailed it was a 7 day cruise, and the vast majority of CCL cruises are 7 days or shorter.

Options are always a good thing.

More a matter of priority than ship availability. Carnival has mor ships than any other cruise line.

Enjoyed our three cruises out of SJ. Understand the driver to leave it, hopefully they will return some day. Proliferation of addtional ships might help that to be….time will tell.

Therein lies the way it needs to be.
