Tipping "out of control" is going to a fast casual restaurant where the person taking your order gives you a choice via touch screen for an 18%-20% tip, just for taking your order...  nothing else. You pick up the order when ready and seat yourself. I have run into two places like this lately and it seems to be the trend. That's BS as the employers need to pay the employees what they work for rather than having the customers subsidize their pay.

    Has anyone else experienced this and what do you think of it.

    When the management acknowledge freely that there is an issue, there is an issue.

     

    I would like to know this too as your review has been very clear on what is happening on the sky and does not lean on personal bias. Keep up the info please.

    To me it's an easy app "to get the hang of" but the problem is in the lack of functionality, especially when on the ship. There are numerous people that have said it was not working well on board and that when they did order a drink or food it never showed or with a food order it said "preparing" and then cancelled.

    Or maybe the ones that have had no problems while on board have not chimed in here except for you.

    The phones worked fine. The issue was that unless you knew the number to dial you were out of luck. I had 3 friends on the cruise, but I did not know their cabin numbers so I could not call them. Guest services would not answer so I could not get any number from them. All I could do is call my cabin and leave a message for my wife. She could not stay in the cabin because she was continuing to stand in line at Guest Services or at the internet center. The internet did not function so I could not use that. The Medallion App was non functional, so on and so on....

    After reading all that you have written about your Princess experience, it clearly shows the indecisiveness of the Princess crew and their lack of caring. And we keep hearing again and again the uselessness of the Medallion app when on board. A few have said it worked but it seems like the minority.

    All I can say is sorry for your absolute nightmare on Princess. Hope you have recovered.

    I totally agree... it is just insane! And we are more than ready for our cruise after having three cruises cancelled in the last few years, including our beautiful 10 day anniversary cruise. Ugh...

    Oh no, maybe it's another Princess app update. I just can't look no more as my OCD is in the red lane.

  7. Indeed this is the most insane thing as it keeps changing us from blue to green, then blue and now after weeks of green/blue we are now yellow. What the heck! I am not touching this app any more and will "deal" with it when we get to the dock.

    I think it's designed to drive you crazy 🥴

    Just had to delete my wife's and after reinstalling it updates after putting in your booking number. So no your info is not deleted as it downloads from Princess servers.

    One of the most prevalent problems with the app seems to be consistently keeping the inputted information. That said, I think that is what's causing the blue lane/green lane switching back and forth. I know with us it lost what country we are from, so it bumped us to the blue lane. Ugh!

    Maybe it works better when on the ship... who knows. I will only put the required info in and not the suggested, so as to not complicate errors.

    Agreed! The app is problematic and we are not doing anything anymore that is not absolutely required on the app. Been on the phone with Princess a few times to get info corrected because it will not save the changes made. If we don't need to upload vaccine info on the app we will validate at the dock then. Now shows red exclamation for my wife so will need to call again!

  12. Simple question. Have not cruised for long time and have the Sky scheduled with a 10am flight scheduled after disembarkation. Going from Port Everglades to Fort Lauterdale airport...  will I make it in time? Are taxis reliable or what is best way to go.

  13. We were booked on the Enchanted for January 30, 2021 but cancelled after reading what the CDC would require (see below) if one case of Covid shows up on a cruise. What do you think the odds of that Are?

     

    As a condition of operating, cruise lines will be required to advise passengers in all marketing materials, websites, and in materials for voyages, that if a threshold for COVID-19 is detected during the voyage, the ship will return to its U.S. port of embarkation and that subsequent travel, including return home, could be delayed.

    Sounds like back to the port and quarantine to me. Am I wrong? Any comments.
