I'm not OP, but I can chime in here. As of January, the core 3 were still Encore, Colors of the World, and The Secret Silk. Sweet Soul Music was the fourth as it was a 2-week cruise; pre-pandemic, I don't remember Sweet Soul Music being done on the 7-day cruises on Royal, but I can see the case where if one show's set doesn't work (namely The Secret Silk), Sweet Soul Music could easily take the place of that one since the set is very simple. A new cast just joined Royal not too long ago, but since installing new shows take a lot of time, money, and manpower, I don't think new shows are going to be transferring on to older ships any time soon (but I could be wrong!)

Bob, I've been thinking about your live blogs and remember your pre-pandemic Sky adventure! Thanks for being so generous with your time. Hope you have an amazing time on the Royal! A fitting number that is. Should be a good omen!

This is my optimism speaking here but I think the prices will definitely come down more by the time final payment rolls around. Perhaps not, but I just feel it (that is, unless your booking is selling like hot cakes). If you want the sailing, you should just hold it and watch it for price drops, but I'd also price out land-based alternatives if you want to see the British Isles, cruise or not. The reason I have this optimism (perhaps ill-conceived but it's what gets me going when I look at itineraries lol) is because I definitely recall some 2023 bookings looking pretty steep when they first came out. I hope you don't give up on cruising!

I am not OP but I've been in these sideways cabins before. If you really value floor space over a larger bed, have the beds split apart. It makes the room feel so much larger than it really is. And you can also use the second bed for "not sleeping purposes" (like snacking, laying some clothes on it, etc.).

At the very least, he's on paternity leave, as he and his wife just welcomed a newborn not too long ago. I'm hopeful he'll return eventually but I have no confirmation. Thanks to @Bobbiegentry, they've also clarified that Silvio Zampieri is the DRO on Diamond. I'll add them to the list.

CD Jody Miles from the Enchanted has posted on her Instagram that she's leaving after this current cruise, ending 2/27. She said she'll be onboard Caribbean for four months beginning the end of April. CD Corinne Steel mentioned on the Wake Show last month that she was scheduled to go back to the Royal after her leave; she rejoins, beginning sometime in April and will be there all through the Alaska season. CD Jayson Douglass just replaced Aaron on the Grand. Catalin Ionel is the current DRO on Discovery. Duke Christopher (ED) was spotted on Enchanted with Jody in a recent photo. This on 2/2 for the Diamond shows that Stefano Ravera was the Captain and Samantha McDonough was the ED.

Hi @Bobbiegentry, Loving the updates. Very true about how awful it must have been to see a pair of shorts in the MDR. The sheer horror. How has the entertainment/shows been? Is Sophie still the cruise director? I don't know if any of the cruise directors Princess used to have pre-COVID on the Japan itineraries have stayed; we'll miss them. Please share with us the picture board of crew members! Are you finding yourself bored with the food in the buffet yet lol? (as if!) And how have the seas been thus far? I've imagined doing a transpacific but the Pacific can be an unpredictable one. Wishing you many more days of smooth sailing!

Hi Jenn, Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful trip with us. I've just caught up on all of your posts and this is an itinerary that I can only dream of partaking in, but you've given us a great primer via the moments you've experienced. And in an alternate universe, Sydney would definitely be my homeport as it's just a dream. As for the line I quoted from your post last week, you'll be happy to know that so far as of now, Princess is planning to send the Discovery your way in late-2024 to join the Majestic! All the pools that you can think of! (...well, at least for this class of ship lol). Happy cruising and have a safe and amazing rest of your journey!
