  1. I thought this promotion was an older promotion with sailings thru June, but correct me if I am wrong.

I have a cruise booked in December that had no solo supplement. They are capacity controlled and once the quota is met the supplement returns.

  2. Our favorite thing about Carnival Fascination is the convenience of the JAX port for us.

    I will definitely second that.

A drink with Tommy if he is still on the Fascination. When We sailed last November he was always at the bar outside the comedy club.

It is also a great venue (off to the sides at least) to watch football during the season.

  3. This used to be the way to find out if you got an upgrade. You would order Bon Voyage with the booking number and the confirmation would give the cabin number. I think it was called "Linda's Trick" or something like that.

Once you found your cabin number you could decide whether to have your TA or PVP put you back into the guarantee "lottery"

Brilliant idea if it works. I am ordering from BV so will give it a shot.

  4. Was booking Early Saver the reason you lost your deposit? wasn't that actually do to being so close to cruise date? Early Saver only costs you $50/pp to reschedule/cancel, with the rest of the funds held for future use for 24 months.

Yes, it was due to Early Saver because I cancelled between 75 and 56 days from departure.

  5. I wanted to share my recent experience with canceling and re-booking a cruise a few days ago.

We originally had the 9/21 Dream sailing booked in a cove but due to a work conflict my partner had it became clear last week that we would have to reschedule. I didn't want to throw out all my research on the Dream and the ports (though none of the ports were new to me) and the 9/7 sailing matched so we decided to book that one.

The original sailing had the majority of it paid for with a gift card when Carnival had the "Father's Day" promotion a couple of months ago. I was concerned whether the refundable portion would go to my credit card, a gift card or was indeed non-refundable. We lost our $500 deposit due to Early Saver but that is a chance you take when booking that rate. That should be covered under our independent travel insurance as well as our two Hotwire hotels. Airfare was booked with points so no worries there - Southwest is very easy to make flight changes with using Rapid Rewards.

I was able to call in and get the new sailing date as well as all of the refundable portion of the cruise transferred to my booking number. We went with a balcony guarantee due to the great Pack and Go rate. I just had to pay the slight difference in price over the phone and we were set.

Long story short, this turned out to be much easier than I anticipated!

  6. Good luck; I poke around the booking site as if I am a new customer to see which balconies are still available for cruisers willing to select their own cabin. A thought if you are interested in seeing what is available for your vacation. I do not know if this correlates to anything yet.

I got quite bored this morning and found 81 balconies available to the public. There are more than that as some configurations of the mock booking only showed the max of 10 cabins visible.

  7. I just learned something! I was told differently from a server-that I would have to pay for the total days even if I bought on day 2. G:cool:ood to know.

Not a good source for information. I was on the Conquest's first sailing with Cheers and even the F&B manager was convinced that sodas counted against your limit of 15.

Also different ships follow different "rules" when it comes to the program. I have had it on 3 ships and none were consistent to the next.

  8. I have read every page of this thread and am pretty sure this has not been asked: Is someone in the Cheers program allowed to share their 25% off discounted bottle of wine with a passenger who did not purchase the Cheers package?

Yes, you can share. You will not be expected to down it yourself.

Is the only criteria for being able to purchase a single Cheers package being the only adult in a stateroom? What if you are in connecting staterooms with one adult and one child in each? Would they make both parents buy the package?

Only one would have to purchase it. Whether the staterooms connect or not is irrelevant.
