To each his or her own. We shouldn't have to relocate to a more accepting place to enhance our viewpoints. I just can't understand why there are still American Citizens who refuse to comply. These are well trained Medical Experts that totally have our safety at heart. What would they gain by publishing false rhetoric? Maybe this may sound morbid or off-putting but let's pray that we don't have to wait until Covid strikes "home" to become believers. Wouldn't wish that scenario on anyone.

Already all had it at my house.  And my 69 year old, smokes a pack a day mother had it too.  It took her longer to kick for obvious reasons but is recovered. The people that report everything are way distorting numbers...can't control people if you can't scare them into submission.

For people who choose to follow the requirements. I say great! Have a fantastic time! (And I really do feel that way).

Because of Covid & riots in the city we lived in in Wisconsin, we moved to Arizona and I can honestly say that here in AZ, our beliefs and choices about Covid do not put us in the minority. I know with absolute certainty that if a line could get around the Covid "recommendations" put in place by the CDC, the masses of travelers who aren't afraid of Covid and don't agree with the mandates would flock to them.

Where in AZ?  Might need an escape, transplants are ruining Texas...

MSC matched my Carnival Platinum status to MSC gold. I have now sailed them in the Caribbean and Mediterranean and they’ve quickly become one of my favorite cruise lines.

MSC’s prices are VERY competitive. In fact, many times they are considerably cheaper than Carnival. It’s because of their unbeatable pricing why we decided to, not only sail MSC in the Mediterranean, but to book a Loft Suite with a long list of perks. What a wonderful vacation! Even after upgrading, it was still cheaper than a standard balcony stateroom out of Port Canaveral on yet another Caribbean cruise that same week!

I will always cherish the memories from my Carnival cruises, but if there’s something that I’ve learned during the last few years is that there are too many other cruise lines and too many other places to see. I can’t stay loyal to just one cruise line anymore.

Wow, that is an awesome looking cabin!!

I was initially all about the OBC. $600 bucks was (and still could be) a sweet offer, as I plan to cruise again. Cover my gratuities, drinks, and a few meals. Maybe I didn't care as much because it was paid for in credit card points to begin with. I was ok if pricing surged a little. If the cruising halt would have been over already, how cool would it have been to have that?

For my recently cancelled cruise, I just took the refund. This shutdown is excessive. It becomes increasingly riskier each passing day to tie up that much money in a credit. When will we cruise again? What is the price going to be? Will the cruise lines have to declare bankruptcy? It's sad really.

Don't blame you, I wouldn't leave my money tied up with them.  Too much uncertainty...clearly the cruise lines haven't paid off the right people.

I agree with everything you said except for the shutdown being excessive.

Your opinion, which is fine.  I believe it is excessive and I'm not sure the Cruise Industry will survive.  The whole deciding who/what is essential during this whole mess is a joke.  Many folks livelihood depends on these ships sailing, it isn't even about the vacation aspect as much as the crew not being able to work and ports not receiving paying customers.

His whole schtick is annoying. The booya, the sound effects buttons, all of it. I don't doubt that he knows his stuff when it comes to the markets, but in my opinion he frequently presents his opinions as fact.

I've heard him go back and forth on cruises and my husband says sometimes he is late to the game.  My husband watches him every night and some days I just can't deal with it, lol.   I hope the Cruise industry makes it, I am not confident they will.  I think if they do we will stop seeing them get bigger and bigger.

I would advise you to have a plan B.  I will infer that you wish that you'll be able to cruise in November of 2021 just like it was in November of 2019.  Even if Carnival and possibly  MSC do not mandate vaccines, there will be other restrictions  that of course have not been announced  yet but will more than likely  be a hindrance to what you wish to do.  I would research all inclusives as an alternative vacation option.

We will have a backup plan.  My problem is if you are going to require a vaccine/testing before boarding then I should be able to live my life once on board.  I’m not jumping through all the hoops for more of the same restrictions.  I would rather do something else.  If people want to spend a bunch of money to do all that then by all means...

The people that post on here are only a small fraction of those who cruise. Don't let them deter you. Nobody knows when Carnival will start cruising and what that will look like. Once they do we can all make a decision to cruise or not. I'm sure no matter what Carnival decides people will be on here complaining. 😉

I'm honestly on the fence...waiting to see what the final word is.  I have one scheduled for Thanksgiving and at this point I'm thinking there will be a Plan B, lol.

I'm not sure where you were a year ago. We shut down nearly every business, grounded most planes and cruises, and locked people inside for over a month. What more did you want? Unfortunately, it did little other than tank our economy

Imagine taking this stance that Samoa and Zealand are models that countries like the USA can replicate.

    All of this....

  10. I try to use straws less now when one of my friends said they caused wrinkles.  I don't need anymore of those 😆  I ordered some silicone ones for my last cruise to take with me if I wanted one.  Either way, Covid didn't help any of this waste...along with the masks, anyone order takeout?  Good grief, talk about wasteful.

No question about it.  I have had the two shots from Moderna and feel a bit safer and looking forward to 8 nights in Punta Cana at Excellence El Carmen in June.

It sucks how the restaurant industry has been devastated over the past 13 months.  1/3 of the restaurants in NJ have gone under.

It's really awful...If this goes on much longer I am not sure if the Cruise Industry will survive, not all the lines for sure.  NCL has always struggled.

So I have to assume then that you're not getting the vaccine?

Honestly not sure yet.  I'm not an anti-vaxxer typically.  I just know a lot of people are getting rich off this whole deal while others are losing their businesses and livelihood.  We still have not seen the long term implications of what this shut down has caused.

  13. If they are going to require me to get vaccinated and then test me before boarding then I expect it to be "normal" once I board.  If it isn't then I am not going.  Not going to spend money to continue to be controlled.  I will stay home if that's the case and wait until everyone gets back to their senses before cruising again.... if they are not all run out of business by then.

  14. I mean, it has never bothered me and still won't.  I have seen a kid dip a spoon in mash potatoes at the buffet before and lick it (yes I told someone but how often don't you see the stuff that happens?).  Will we stop cheering and singing public?  Laughing at comedy clubs?  No more handshakes and hugs? Getting our own drinks at restaurant stations?    I showed up to daycare once when my son was 2, another kid had his hand in his mouth.  I think all builds up our immunity....We are all going to be sick once they set us free.

IT is more infectious and worse than the flu. Long term survival from covid is still questionable.

One in three Covid survivors suffers 'brain disease,' study finds

    https://www.cnn.com/2021/04/07/world/coronavirus-newsletter-intl-04-07-21/index.html

I lived through it, had issues for 10 months. symptoms have finally subsided...got it last year after a cruise ironically enough.  I mean I guess we could ask the people that created it in the lab what else we should expect?
