  1. Completely agree! It's the getting onboard part that is the challenge.😃
  2. @Lonedaddy @SWFLAOK Thanks for your input. Really helps.
  3. I was just thinking about you yesterday and the thought that the CPAP could be an additional carry on. As for back packs, instead of a big bulky one, consider a cheap lightweight foldable nylon one. Not a big investment so you can chuck it if you like the SS one better. I use them regularly and they are quite sturdy. Amazon has lots of options.
  4. They should be forced to walk the plank in shark infested waters.
  5. @Lonedaddythank you so much for the info! Very helpful. I was just looking at the Marriot and Intercontinental. Both look nice, any preference? Read that the water was murky at Marriot. Did you have that issue? And did you have a favorite room? Thanks again.
  6. Will do! I may do a live, but not sure. Did them for our trips in June and August. Lots of work! Also just arranged Blacklane transfer from ship to MO for $300 for 4 people. Anything to avoid the SS bus. @Silver Spectre Thanks for the tip. I love when a place has a Club . I'll just use the pool instead of the bathtub. 😁
  7. Last time we were there we took the Hop on Bus and went to the Archeological Museum. Both good. We stayed at the Westin in El Golf. Like @kimanjowalked a lot and popped into places that looked good. Mostly along Isidora Goyenechea road. Never had a bad meal. Pizzeria Tiramisu was casual and very tasty. Le Due Torri Isidora very yummy and excellent Gin & Tonic. This trip we'll be in a different part of town at the MO. Would love any recommendations for that area. We are there on Nov. 18. If we find anything good, I'll post.
  8. Also one of my pet peeves. Covid brought us the QR code menu in the interest of sanitation. Unlike other great innovations popularized by Covid, its time to return to menus you can read without scrolling on a tiny screen. If Seabourn truly wanted their app and website to work so they can save the environment and also money long term they should spend the money NOW to hire decent IT people. The hours that other staff spend solving problems created by bad tech issues would easily cover those costs.🤯 Ooops sorry, rant over.
  9. Turns out you can drink wine and enjoy trivia. Results may vary.😃
  10. @CinciCruise Thanks for your enlightening post about the less than luxury Simply Hotel that SS housed guests at near Nadi airport. I figured I better get myself in gear and find a place to stay before our trip in April. We have been to Fiji before and are only looking to stay for 2 to 3 days before embarking in Lautoka on an SS Explorer 35 day B2B. Looking for a place to regroup after a long trip to get there. Perhaps one of the high end resorts near Denarau, or ??? Any favorites or suggestions CC intelligentsia?
  11. Ha ha, two months. As you know we finally got our Simply hotel one week before departure.
  12. 15-20 meters...oh my....why bother unless it's a spectacular coral reef. We went down about 100 meters, so it was interesting in that respect to see what lives in darkness.
  13. We saw a few things and went pretty deep. Our friends who went on a few more saw some fish and lots of jellyfish.
  14. Greag minds! Love the Grand Hyatt. Steps to AA checkin and the restaurant is pretty good. We have stayed at the Hyatt Regency when Grand was booked and it was pretty good. But as you said, not nearly as convenient.
  15. The submarine in Greenland was an interesting experience and we are glad we did it. However there was not much to see and we canceled our other excursions. Our friends did go on a few more and said it was better.
  16. We love ordering special dinners, specifically Indian. We find the food on Seabourn and Silversea can get a tad boring if you favor spicy and ethnic fare. We meet with the chef and pick a day when it is convenient for the Chef and their staff. We have also hooked up with some waiters and they have arranged special dishes from their native country. Food is a cultural connection. I love to hear from staff what their favorite native dish is, and they are proud to represent their country. On SS Cloud in June we were lucky to have Chef Pia. She is a culinary Goddess. Each night she presented authentic ethnic dishes on the regular MDR menu, and was still pleased to double down on the Indian night for us. The Colonnade and La Terrazza are buffet zoo's at lunch and breakfast. Lest you think we do not care about staff: We have never ordered cocktails to the room, but understand that some have reasons to do so. Besides who wants a diluted cocktail. We also tell housekeeping one cleaning a day is fine. In Antarctica we would find out which day our cleaning staff was scheduled for an excursion. They are not allowed to go unless their cleaning is finished. We banded together with others on our floor to give them the day off so they could be assured to make the excursions. During a humpback feeding frenzy or iceberg shows our group gathered up staff and got them on our balconies for the amazing shows.
  17. Eeeek. Not good? Hope you weren't on it.😃 I hope it didn't sink like the drone did when we were on board.🤣 Saw that Joe Cochram is in bird heaven.
  18. Finally got the confirmation today that it's the Mandarin Oriental on our trip. One week before we leave. Pleased after reading about the No Tell Motel SS put some folks up at. @cruiseejhope you don't get the tent city!🤣 I hear SS is calling it 5* glamping. @FlyerTalker I hear ya on the double check and connection time. We're flying in to DFW the night before our flight to SJO just to be safe. Plus we don't have to get up at 3am to catch a flight. 😉
  19. Thanks again for posting. Really enjoying. So glad you scored some polar bears, pack ice, and more Auroras. Sorry about Ponants less than stellar performance.
  20. @kimanjolooks perfect for our post cruse chill. Did you eat at any of their restaurants? Still no word from SS on the post cruise hotel. We leave in a week. 🤣
  21. Thanks! We're on the Explorer in April. Let us know how the old girl is doing.
  22. I believe you are looking in the right place. We're also staying at a Simply Hotel.😃
  23. Thanks so much for the heads up. Which ship are you on? We are on the Wind. Still nothing on our docs. Will check with our TA and see if she can get any info. To add insult to injury we spent the $200 for Blacklane. Blacklane said they could not provide the service. Silversea said they would only refund $175. Jeez. TA is fighting the $25 battle. It's a jungle out there.
