  1. We use ValuTrips to book at the Hyatt Place Cruise Port. Publix, Total Wine, dining, everything you need right there. Good shuttle service to the Port.
  2. I have been watching this, as we will be boarding the Regal soon. I am very excited! So, we are getting some cruise info coming in now, and if it is right, the Executive Chef will be Frederico Femiano (sp???) And that is the same one that has been on the Regal,coming over from Europe. Makes me wonder what is going on with this change to negative reviews, if the Chef is the same? I guess we will see! Maybe that mention I see of Frederico was a mistake, and they need to update that? Or, maybe it really is the big decline in food suppliers now that the ship is back to Fort Lauderdale? I will report back in a few weeks, when we get back from our trip.
  3. Glad to hear a good review on the Enchanted! I am not happy to see the Alfredo disappear!. And, now I am seeing that the Ceaser salad is gone too? I don't know what Princess is thinking, but please bring these back! The whole everyday menu... bring it back!
  4. I wonder if Regal will have this upgrade chart. I know that the Regal did this before. We will be on her soon, and I wonder if anybody who is on the Regal, or who is boarding soon, is seeing this chart. I know it will be different on our cruise, because they are really two different cruises. But, I am hoping that they will offer upgrades at boarding. We don't want to bid, because we are picky about location.
  5. We are excited to be boarding the Regal soon! I also wonder if the head executive chef, whatever the title, has just changed recently. I also noticed that here were good reports from the Regal, until a two or three weeks ago, after coming back to Fort Lauderdale. And, there seems that, for sure, the menus have changed.
  6. Boarding day for Canadian!!! Happy Cruising! I am also interested if the ships band is the same as it has been. So, any info about the food, the head chef and the ships band onboard would be so much appreciated!
  7. Hope you are enjoying your cruise, while it is FREEZING here! Thank you so much. Regal was getting pretty good comments on the food. Darn. Whatever has changed back here in Florida, either the supply or the head chef and staff, or both. I have been really looking forward to being on the Regal. Maybe better to adjust my expectations for the food now, beforehand.
  8. That would be so nice! If you could give any info about the food, that would be great. Maybe post some photos of the menus. I am especially interested in seeing the specific menu, and any experience, from Crown Grill. Seems the ships might serve beef from different places. Some good, some not so good. I have wondered if they have a new head chef now that they are back in Florida.
  9. Well, I am trying to readjust my expectations for the food on the Regal now. Still haven't been able to use the app to make dining reservations at Crown Grill. We had a couple of bad dining cruises before. I was hoping this would be better for the food.
  10. Yes, by other information posted, no Prime Rib on the first night. And the Alfredo is gone! Maybe on offer on some nights. These are 'improvements'? And, the desserts too. No souffle? That Banana's Foster looks very good though! How was the lasagna that is always on the menu? It looks to be light on cheese, and very heavy on the meat. Which isn't the way I like it.
  11. Ohhhh, please say it isn't so! We are looking forward to sailing on the Regal. I had recently posted about the new menus that seem to being put in place on the Regal. Hoping some current or upcoming Regal cruisers would chime in. If there has been changeovers in food supplies and also the top Executive Dining staff, then this isn't good. I think we will try again today to get one reservation in at Crown Grill.
  12. I know it is a big ask. But, we will be on the Regal. And I am hearing that they might have the new updated menus now. If there was anyone kind enough to be able to post some menus or photos of the dishes, We would really appreciate it!
  13. Maybe I will take the basic recipe on the Regal! Hopefully the adult pool bar can make a decent one! There are always pina coladas and dirty bananas too for that kind of drink! I think I have seen these at Grand Cayman, Bahamas, and even Florida now.
  14. They are actually more common all around the Caribbean, I think, now! I will have to look up the Negroni!
  15. I don't see any of the threads about drinks up here currently, but I wanted to ask. I am noticing that I don't see a bushwhacker on the drink menus. Does anybody here order these or see these on the ships? In the Caribbean on the Regal, that might be a good one!
  16. Seems like there might be some problems with this. Maybe because of the upcoming price increases? But, we are wanting to book for the last night of our short cruise next month, and it seems to be messed up. Never shows Sabatini's at all. It does show Crown Grill, but it looks like there might be glitches. Sometimes it shows available times, and sometimes not. I called Princess, and got a useless, seemed to be new, rep, and got everything from yes, we have Crown Grill at 7:20, to no we can't book, to might have to book onboard. WHAT? Is anybody else seeing this kind of problem on the App?
  17. I am glad to see this topic. Just from some past comments that I've heard, I wonder if the whirlpool and those heated loungers are like the Princess 'warm tubs' Or, are they hot enough?
  18. I hope so! I have looked at a few menus that some people have posted here, and I am thinking that they look a bit different. But, I am wondering if I am not seeing Prime Rib on the first night. We are on a shortie cruise, so I will probably be disappointed in the menus on that one. They probably aren't going to have the best stuff. I am hoping that they have the Sea Bass at the specialty dining on the Regal, I hear that can be there, or maybe not.
  19. I was hoping to see a discount couples pass show up on our cruise, but it only shows passes for each person. I think we would be good to try to get a day pass onboard. The cruise does not seem full at all.
  20. We will have a package for the first time, and I am going to try a lot of new drinks! Did a bartender maybe mess up with that Midori Sour? Too bad! But I am not a fan of Midori and Melon. I have been thinking I might like do do a good Bloody Mary one morning. So, how do you order the best bloody mary? And, can you get one early in the morning? When do they start serving drinks? My husband loves ice cream and likes bananas, so I am sure a few Dirty Bananas are in his future. I will have to remember that tip to upgrade the Rum. I don't think there is Coconut Rum in a Dirty Banana?
  21. Thanks so much Pompeii ! We have an obstructed balcony booked on the Regal. I hope they have a chart like that! The bid to a mini was offered was $37.50 per person per day. So, If a cabin we like is still available, because the ship is not booked up at all, I would love to pay the tiny upgrade for a Deluxe Balcony Obstructed, that doesn't really have obstruction. But those will probably all be taken.
  22. We will be on the Regal before you. I think the show times can vary a little. Maybe depending on the itinerary. The Regal was sailing from Europe last month. I think the Entertainment Director can change this up a little. And a new Entertainment Director might be on Regal now. If you post again and ask before you sail, I will see if I can save patters, or jot down the show times for you.

  24. I see another post where they said the coffee right now at the International Cafe was not as good. It was weaker. Maybe the staff even mentioned a change. I hope this was something temporary! Maybe the Regal just didn't have the better International Cafe coffee. I have been looking forward to coffee and specialty coffees there. Has anyone on any other ships noticed a recent change? Maybe ordering drinks made with espresso would work?
  25. Ohhhh! It could be the custom medallion! But I think I was hearing other comments about having to pick them up at the Port. So, I was thinking that getting set up for this new system could be causing delays or problems. I do still hope we get ours!
