  1. I think this credit is offered on savings starting the first of next year. So, nobody knows yet. I am wanting to book a Princess excursion on our upcoming cruise, so it works either way for me. Unless somebody has been able to use this to book something else onboard in advance? I have never heard of there being any different kinds of onboard credit. But, Princess has been updating a lot of things. According to another topic here, Casino credit used to be a separate thing, but they aren't there to buy for upcoming cruises.
  2. I would just rebook the same thing with the TA from the online agency that actually answers inquiries and gives a halfway straight answer!
  3. I wouldn't care about the deposit... the amount paid and the perks are what matters. I just wish Princess would respond to us before the upcoming final payment date!
  4. It sounds like a lot of strange stuff going on with Princess! We booked a cruise with a promo rate that was offered to us by showing the lower rate when I was logged in. We booked with the Plus package, which would now get us the one hundred dollars onboard excursion credit. But, since we have the cruise booked, it won't show me that Promo rate we had. Looking at a large online travel agency, they are still showing that discounted rate that I no longer can pull up. The fare on the cruise has not changed. Should be able to refare or just add that credit. It seems that Princess and our Princess agent are ignoring our inquiries. We hate to totally cancel, and have to wait for Princess to refund us, for that two hundred dollars. But, I swear, on principle I am ready to do that.
  5. Why would they hide cabins that they want to sell?
  6. I think I would do that too! If I were still looking for a decent lounger 30-40 minutes later, I would know which ones were the chair hogs!!! I have seen Princess move stuff, one time, at the retreat pool. Carnival seems to have a issue here with low class, and even arguing and fights. I have heard that they are trying to crack down on all of this kind of stuff.
  7. I think that the perk is that you get the $100. onboard credit when you book with the Plus package. I think that the first two passengers in each cabin BOTH have to do the Plus Package. Not just one. But I am not sure if there is any way around that. If you are cruising in the cabin with your sister, and you guys book with the Plus package, you would still get the Gratuities, Coffee and specialty coffees, waters, juice, soda, and the WIFI. And the $100.00 perk. We booked with a promo rate, before this sale started. And if we had to cancel and re-book, for us it wouldn't be much benefit.
  8. Thanks to you guys who take the time and effort to post, especially live! We are counting the weeks before we board the Regal. I am following here, and would love to see any information possible! Who are in the positions in charge of Dining, Cruise Director, etc. Maybe they have that info in the patter on the first day or two? I know that this could change when the ship gets back to Fort Lauderdale. I know that the band Xcite has been onboard. But will be taking some time off and then will be on another ship. Any info would be good!
  9. Sorry for any confusion about the drinks and Plus package. The Plus package is a flat $50. per day, and when you factor in gratuities and wifi and regular coffees and sodas and alcoholic drinks, can be a good way to go. Also, Ruby has a few nice features, like the AFT Adagio bar which is very nice. Not just a regular wake-view bar counter. I am seeing a really excellent ships tour has recently been posted on Youtube. And a couple of guys have posted a good series of food and dining videos from onboard. If you haven't seen those, they might be really good to check out.
  10. More time on the water, and less time sitting in port! Another thing, I am thinking that the itinerary still says leaving Princess Cays at 6:00pm. That seems so odd, that maybe the ship will be sitting there anchored off Princess Cays until sunset.
  11. Thanks AZJohn. My question is, can you just decline the new upgrade, and not pay for it? I don't think I have heard of anyone who has done that yet. I might bid if I knew I could see the cabin category. If it is a higher cabin category, but is a bad location, like a forward category, from a mid-ship deluxe balcony to a forward or highest deck mini suite, I would probably not want to move.
  12. I am glad to hear that some are having success with the bidding! I know It can be confusing, but about those two different Minisuites. They actually are two different categories. Not just a different location. The name doesn't really show it, but they are. It would be like bidding on a Balcony cabin or bidding on an obstructed balcony cabin. Here is the description of those Forward Facing mini's. Special Notes: Club Class Mini Ste Balc Access Limited While Ship Is At Sea - Part Obstruct View
  13. I am not looking to sail on the Sapphire right now. But, if I were, and I wanted a convenient Plaza deck cabin, I would want the bed to be against the wall, like regular balcony cabins are laid out. But almost all of these are set up with the beds under the window. Doesn't matter if they are separate twins or one 'queen'.
  14. Those Club Class would actually be two different categories. Kind of like Balcony and Balcony obstructed. I would be afraid that I would bid on a larger cabin, but it would be far forward. That would be the same balcony category, but just a bad location (to me). Then I couldn't move to a better location, because it would be BD and I couldn't move to a BA. Or even a mid-forward or mid-aft cabin.
  15. Being far forward would be a reason that I would hesitate to bid at all. Does anyone here know if Princess is keeping winning bids locked in. So, you can't decline the upgrade? I think that is how it is supposed to work. But I am thinking that I have heard differently.
  16. Nope, that doesn't seem to be the case. It is kind of odd that I see photos with these rooms in three different setups? Only a very few are set up with the bed against the wall and no desks or anything under the window. Maybe P216, P220, P306, P309. Maybe the berths for 3rd and 4th passengers make some kind of difference.
  17. Another thing about the Diamond or Sapphire. When I was looking at a cruise on the Sapphire, I had tried to find out which of the ocean view cabins on Plaza deck were set up like regular cabins with the bed against the wall, instead of under the window. I would think there would be a good thread or somewhere to find that out! But, doesn't seem to be. Most every photo I see (no room numbers) show the bed under the window. I saw that P220 had the bed against the wall. And I saw a photo of P306, I think, that had the bed against the wall. If anybody had any other information, that would be great!
  18. Sorry. if I missed this! But, does anyone have any info or link to the usual lunch menu? I haven't eaten Embarkation lunch in the dining room. Last time we did Alfredo's, and might stick with that. To many options to get in on a short cruise! I see a couple of things mentioned mentioned. Spinach Ravioli, and Souffle. I wonder if the beef is worth trying?
  19. Tons of availability showing, but who knows how many GTY and Drop-and-Go fare bookings there might be. Ship could be booked up more than we think.
  20. Come on over and post on the Roll Call!
  21. Thanks! I am glad to hear that! I would want to avoid the crowded areas and events. but wonder if we could find a way to be somewhat 'safe' and check these out.
  22. In case you haven't seen it, this is what is on the Princess Website, under special events theme cruises. Featuring: WANTED (Bon Jovi Tribute), Pat Benatar Experience, Double Vision (Foreigner Tribute) and Carlos Oscar (Comic)
  23. We have looked at this Shortie as a Winter getaway! I have wondered the same question. Yes, I think they will have like an 80's night in the Piazza, and things like that. But, I don't think the 80's will take over the cruise. There is a roll call. I have seen the list of entertainment booked for the cruise, and there are a couple of 80's cover/tribute bands. I will have to see if I can find that again. Of course the cruises have onboard entertainment booked, in addition to the Ships Party Band, the Orchestra, etc. This would mean that the other entertainers onboard would be limited. In other words, I don't see how they could have a notable opera singer, or duo/trio or whatever, along with those 80's performers. If you don't mind the 80's theme, that is great. If you do, then I have seen other recent topics here where I heard that it really isn't a huge thing.
  24. Yes, it is not ever really recommended!!!! But just wondering. I would never post any of my main contact info out there! I had remembered, I think, seeing that a few people here had somehow put some kind of contact.
