  1. Thanks Coral I am wondering if they have updated this to be specific to excursions. Or if that is a nice sounding PR gimmick. Many people are not crazy about the cruise shop excursions offered. For us, it would be a plus, either way, because we are looking at one shore excursion booking. We had already put a booking place, at a lower fare than the new Promo, and we do have the PLUS added on. I am wondering if we were to politely 'beg', hahaha! our Planner if she had any way that she could tack this $100. onto our booking?
  2. Sorry if I haven't followed previous threads. But, we are looking to cruise on the Regal, and I am wondering what the basic bad experiences were. Was it mostly due to the under-staffing?
  3. I see that a well known Vlogger has been Back-2-Back on the ship, and he also says it is pretty bad. He says the same thing about a really lax attitude onboard until the last couple days. Hopefully he is disembarking and did not get COVID!
  4. I will have to keep this in mind if it is offered on the Regal! I am not vegetarian/vegan, but there are a few interesting things there.
  5. jp2746, you booked your cruise on hold before the new Promo started, right?
  6. If this is really how this Promo works.. Not worth the trouble, especially if you had a discounted fare offer before! The increased fare is much more than that $100. I am thinking that you can still book without the Plus Package, without the $50.00 per person per day. Maybe that $100.00 credit would still apply. I guess if somebody wanted to do that, and it wasn't showing up online, they would have to call.
  7. rocklinmom, I think if you book a Deluxe Balcony that can sleep 4, there will pull-down berths. No need to use the pull out love-seat sofa.
  8. Did you for sure get the promo with the Plus Package. How much did the rate go up today? I am wondering about technical problems with this promo, so I am curious.
  9. Crow9, for special events like Glacier Bay and Panama Canal transit the Sanctuary will be operated with a special more expensive package. I have never done those, so I don't know for sure. I don't know that they would open as early as 5:00 am. It does take time to actually get up into Glacier Bay to the main glaciers. Maybe 6:00 am. Just a guess. This might be very much in demand, so you would want to be onboard and up to the Sanctuary at the very earliest. Usually it is $40.00 per person per day, but I think it could be more than that, maybe twice as much, for something like Glacier Bay. I think this can really vary by ship and sailing.
  10. The cruise I checked, when I pull it up this morning it is like the system isn't working well with the new promo. It has the red promo tag, but then when you select the cruise and choose a cabin, it goes to the rates where the plus package is included at the $50. per day. Confusing!
  11. I believe that each person, or at least a person from each cabin, has to show up in person. I don't know if, even in that case, with the person you are sailing with, if you would even have to have their cruise card. I would be surprised if even linked bookings could reserve for the other purple. I don't think a person can book for anyone else. As always, it has been a while since we cruised, but I think this is correct.
  12. Yep, this would be an actual fare increase for us too. If anyone is looking at a cruise and has priced it out, especially while logged in as Captain's Circle, want to put a hold or book while that fare is still showing.
  13. I don't know! But since nobody else has posted yet, my complete guess is - Gelato is not covered, so pay for Gelato and get the shot of liquor with the package?
  14. We did go ahead and book with it. Even though we have not done that before. I know that is shows the Plus when you price and book, but I don't think you don''t have to do that right then. I think you can do that at almost any time. (unless maybe I am wrong on that?). You would probably contact the person who made your booking, either Princess or your TA. It is pretty simple at 50.00 per person per day. which would cover the gratuities and then get you the beverage package at a discounted rate. I think it figures out that it pays when you have like 3 or 4 coffees, soda, waters, and alcoholic beverages per day.
  15. I am interested to see if the Excursion Credit is the same for shorter or longer cruises. I know that a lot of people do not like the ships excursions, but there is one that we would use this for. The Plus Package is probably worth more than any increase in fare. We had added this to our cruise. We don't usually do a package, but on this one, we thought it might be be good to have.
  16. Okay, is a HOLD an existing booking? I am thinking that is the way to be able to go with the best fare? Place a HOLD, then decide. Do they make sure it is a new booking? We have a booking, for the two of us, So 3rd and 4th guests free doesn't help the two of us. But we went ahead and booked, as there was a discounted rate showing when we log into our account. We are, for the first time, going with the Plus Package. Which could really help. So, is there any way to change to the new promo with the Plus Package, if it is better than what we currently have? Would we have to cancel by tomorrow, so there is no current booking showing? Or could we cancel when the new Promo starts. We have paid some money on the booking, but I don't know if Princess can just apply that, or would have to refund it to the method of payments? Credit card and Princess Cards.
  17. I would guess that Princess, the Captain, would hold off on making any kind of announcement like that until it was clear that there were numerous cases spreading. Maybe isolation area getting more full. I would be trying to avoid more crowded areas, as I think that is where the biggest risk of any airborne type of thing. Stay Well!!!
  18. Maybe one of the perks of the last sailings of the season! ?????
  19. I am making a note of the pre-order! A girl can hope. But, I will taking a risk, as I am not that familiar with the different dishes. I would even write down any good suggestions if anyone had any.
  20. Love those awesome pictures! I haven't been on a Halloween Cruise, but when it was a thing for the BeatleManiacs to be onboard, I took a 50's looking outfit to wear when they were in the Piazza that evening. So, I kind of wore a costume. They seem to be doing 1980's themed short cruises. I can see a Cyndi Lauper / Madonna thing one night for that.
  21. Yes, we can see that Princess has cancelled a few sailings, and has also made some savings 'unavailable'. Before that, I don't think that there was any capacity limits at all. I notice that the cruses just mentioned involved the Greek Isle, and were also on other cruise lines. Greece has had the most restrictive Covid requirements. Also, due to international travel and long flights to Europe, I think that those sailings might have had less demand. I looked at a Europe cruise, after getting the Promo email from Princess. This is for next year. And it is already very heavily booked. No lack of demand or capacity limitations there. They are offering promos to fill the ship as much as possible. Alaska, on the other hand, I am thinking that these cruises have been pretty filled.
  22. Might be covered under the Plus package. But, otherwise, I would expect most all drinks and alcoholic drinks other than the usual tea, coffee, lemonade, and water to be extra. We will probably be distracted with a lot of other non-healthy drinks and libations, but if they do have any kind of juice/smoothie bar set up, maybe in the mornings, on Regal, that would be good! We do a refreshing green smoothie with pineapple, pear, wedge of lime, spinach, a splash of EVOO, and ice in the Vitamix. That is pretty good!
  23. Is it only the Premier package with the nice imported Spring Waters? I have heard mentions of water like Evian or Pellagrino.
  24. What I have read and heard here, now more than ever, is that it is really a special request for No Upgrade. And you have to keep checking. We have not ever been automatically upgraded, but it seems common! Even when marked No Upgrade, if they have their reasons, cover, staffing, whatever, Princess can and will move you! Again, GoldenBonny, if there is an actual upgrade in your cabin category, you can go look online, like you are making a booking, to see what is showing available. (Note the problem with booking Deluxe Balconies for two guests if that is the category). You can easily make a cabin change to cabins in that same category.
  25. Is that maybe on the Majestic? I wonder which ships? I can't figure out how to get to that page on the Princess website. Does look nice!
