  1. My DW and I will be on Summit in August for 12 nights. (NYC to Iceland) After originally booking an inside cabin (only rooms available at booking,) we lucked into an Ultra Deluxe Family Veranda - 270 sq. ft. of cabin and 242 sq. ft. of veranda with a 270 degree view on the back corner of the ship. It is not considered a suite and thus no suite amenities. My thought is that we should never give that cabin up and try for a Move Up. Am I crazy?
  2. Thanks for the video! Glad you are back - we both go way back on Cruise Critic. Getting older but still enjoying the sauna on cruises when they are free.
  3. I’m with you! We have a 12 nighter on Summit in August plus 4 nights in NYC pre-cruise to visit our daughter and 6 nights in Reykjavík post-cruise and my first thought is no dishes for three weeks. What could be better? I think we’ll find plenty of good food to eat along the way.
  4. Hate to hear that. Will be on Summit in August and I know the sauna has been gutted. The M class ships had an awesome sauna with an incredible view.
  5. 6:5 is not really blackjack. It’s a period of entertainment where you slowly give the casino your money. 🙂 I refuse to play 6:5 in Vegas.
  6. They found mine from 97, yours should be no problem.
  7. You’re not looking in the right place. There are those types of cruises on several of the major lines, including RC and Celebrity.
  8. Could you tell us what the minimum bets generally are on BJ, 3 Card Poker?? I realize they will vary at different times of day. Just curious for our Summit cruise in August. Thanks!
  9. Just curious - what issue did you have that needed the help of a lawyer to resolve?
  10. Our cruise in August was picked because of the destinations (Greenland and Iceland). Hopefully, food issues are resolved, but being married to a doctor who takes care of Covid patients on a daily basis, I realize how serious a covid infection can be. We are own a new era of travel (at least as long as Covid is around) and cruise lines have suffered and need to survive. Remember, that what one cruise line may do may put better food on the table at the risk of a higher infection rate. I trust Celebrity to work with their medical experts to determine what is the best and, more importantly, safest balance between service and safety. Anyone who cruises these days should realize that you are placing yourself in a covid incubator, weigh the risks, do your best to protect yourself and others on the cruise (common sense things like frequent hand washing, hand sanitizing, sanitizing your room as best as possible, masks if in a crowded situation and, of course, vaccinations.
  11. We are sailing on the Summit in August. We’ve sailed Infinity years ago and certainly loved the men’s sauna with large windows. Does the Summit have single sex saunas? Thanks!
  12. That’s what I get for being lazy on a Saturday morning and reading only part of the article before I get out of bed. 😂
  13. it’s interesting that the article states “”on select ships.”
  14. Interesting that my app is still showing no charge for room service except for the $4.95 late night on our 8/6 Summit 12 day cruise. We are in a deluxe family room at the rear of the ship.
  15. What can they do? It will vary by butler, of course, but if you take the time to get to know them, treat them with respect and just be friendly, they’ll do most anything that’s legal. (Some might do a bit more.) Lol.
  16. Does the Summit casino have Ultimate Texas Hold’em? What are the table minimums for blackjack and UTH? I suppose 3:2 blackjack will have higher minimums. Thanks!
  17. No vaccine is 100% effective. If the annual flu vaccine is 70%, its a good year. Covid vaccines were 90%+ effective in preventing the original Covid 19. Variants have become more and more resistant since then, but there is no doubt that vaccines overwhelmingly prevent more serious Covid symptoms, long Covid effects, or death.
