  1. That’s a good article and right on the money. There are some of the higher end Vegas Strip casinos that have 6:5 payouts on anything under a $100 minimum on weekends. That’s why I haven’t gambled on the strip in 7 years or so. When we go to Vegas now, it’s always with the intention of gambling downtown.
  2. 6:5 is not really blackjack. It lowers the odds of winning to the point that it’s just a sideshow, carnival game. It’s a ripoff.
  3. We have those for our August cruise on Celebrity Summit to Greenland and Iceland.
  4. Agreed about Banks Mansion. We stayed last year at NH Collection Flower Market. It’s very nice and right next to Muntplein and the Flower Market. Breakfast is not included but there are many options nearby. Very nice hotel.
  5. I can’t find the answer to these questions on the board but I’m sure they are there somewhere, but I’ll ask. We’ve never done online check in for a cruise before. We are approaching check in date for our Summit cruise in August. 1. Does check in begin at 12:01 am of the date given to check in? 2. Does checking in early that morning give a better choice for what your boarding time will be? (We are not in a suite or higher classification category like Aqua, etc. 3. Do we need to have our passports handy or other documentation to check in? Thanks very much!
  6. Can’t wait for one of those “excited palates.” 😂
  7. I will grant you the Penthouse Suite has a larger balcony and room. I was unfortunately speaking in a generality. (I’d take the Penthouse Suite if they paid me.) 😊
  8. You don’t go into specific numbers, but the Deluxe Family Veranda on Summit sleeps at least five. Is adding them to your family veranda cabin possible? We are going to be in one of those cabins in August on Summit. I wouldn’t move from there to a suite even if Celebrity paid me. Both the room and the balcony are so much larger than any suite onboard plus you have sweeping views of the back and side of the ship.
  9. That’s not always true. Celebrity folks can have a fun time as well. Maybe just not as obvious. 🙂
  10. Let’s see - Duncan was 98 (I think) and Robinson was in 86 (?). I know I was at the ceremony when David was introduced to SA fans way back then. By the way, I’ve met both and they are both just super nice, very humble good men.
  11. Thanks! Hopefully another Duncan or Robinson. 🙂
  12. I do remember that. One interesting side note is that the cancellation and subsequent replanned 2.5 weeks on our first trip to Europe made us fall in love with Amsterdam. I believe we have visited 15 times over those 23 years and have good friends we’ve met there. We’ve become like family to two sets of friends - they’ve been in our house here in Texas and us in theirs. Funny how things work out.
  13. Takes me back 23 years when my wife and I were booked on Millennium’s inaugural cruise - a 14 day Baltic cruise out of Amsterdam. Cruise was cancelled because the ship had not been finished. Got our money back plus a free cruise the next year which we took on Infinity to Alaska.
  14. Thanks for the information. I think, though, that you folks might want to update some of the information. After spending an hour reading material on Uniworld vs. Crystal, I went to another site and found out that Crystal stopped sailing a year or two back.
  15. My wife and I have never been on a European river cruise but would like to plan one for our 25th anniversary in 2024. Is there a best itinerary and cruise line that those of you with experience would recommend? Thanks very much!
  16. Would take Whataburger over In N Out burger everyday of the week and twice on Sundays.
  17. We are booked in this cabin on the Summit in August. There are video tours available on YouTube - it looks amazing. The balcony has a 270 degree view from down the side of the ship towards the front, all the way around to the other side of the aft. (I hope that makes sense - check out the videos.)
