  1. Unbelieveable. Brand new ship without a lounge. Very disappointing.
  2. Thank you very much for your advice. I have done plenty of B2Bs but have never done this before. I knew it wasn't right and wanted to see if this happens a lot. You have been helpful. Thank you.
  3. I haven't tried booking reservations since it's next year. Thank you for your helpful response. It is correct on the website, like you stated. 🙂
  4. Two cruises: I have a cruise next year that ends in South Hampton. Then we stay the night in South Hampton and get on another ship the next day. It shows up on my app as one cruise! It's two different ships. I am wondering if this has happened to anyone? I am waiting to contact Princess to ask or on my next cruise, I can ask on the ship. I can only see excursions for the first cruise and not the second. Thank you.
  5. I have only been on the Regal and Sapphire this year. My experience: Regal, Vista Lounge. 4:00-6:00. Never saw a discounted drink menu. Sapphire (Alaska cruises): Skywalkers, empty, 5:00-7:00, drink menu, $8.00. Live music on both Regal and Sapphire. I loved Sapphire being up in the Skywalkers. Nice views. The staff was bored because it was so empty. On some days, it was in Club Fusion (Glacier Bay).
  6. @YVRteacher Hello. I don't even know how I found your live thread but I really appreciated you sharing everything. I haven't been on the Island Princess but have sailed on the Regal recently. It is sad the lack of customer service you have experienced. We got off the ship in April. We noticed a few unhappy crew members also but most of them were great. Our stateroom attendant was the worst we had ever experienced in all of our years of cruising. (Romeo, I wonder if your stateroom attendant is Romeo?) I had to read some of the stuff you were sharing to my husband and we were shaking our heads! But, we believed it. I know you had a great experience on the Island, will you give another Princess ship a try? I have only been on 4 Princess ships and Regal was our last favorite. (Size and layout) I will be on the Regal next year for a similiar cruise as yours. Thank you for sharing the fun details. I took lots of notes from when you were in port. We are vegetarians too and had really good rolls at Ocean Terrace also. I was amazed how beautiful yours were. Arnold from Kenya was there in Feb and then again in April when we were on the ship. He really went out of his way to make our experience at Ocean Terrace a good one. He is so kind with a nice smile. I wonder if he still is on the ship? You mentioned someone from Brazil. I hope you enjoy your last veg sushi there. 🙂 I now have two books I want to read from this thread. Thank you for taking us on your journey. I appreciated your sense of humor and your honesty. I hope your last two days are great. 🙂
  7. Thank you. This is not the first time I heard someone recommend using Uber. 🙂
  8. Thank you so much. Good advice on carrying as little as possible too. Thanks for the picture of the outfit. Your Mom looks so cute! 🙂 Welcome home. It's sad to leave vacations but always good to be home when they are done.
  9. @jaycruising Thank you for taking the time to share your cruise. I enjoyed reading about your journeys and learned about brown cheese and the RIB excursions and took notes for my cruise next year. 🙂 When you said you had to gear up for the RIB, what does this mean? Did they provide extra clothes for you? Thanks again.
  10. I will be in Rio de Janeiro for two days on a cruise in December. I would like to go on a tour that includes Christ Redeemer, Sugar Loaf Hill and the Selaron Stairs. I am on a waitlist with Do Brazil Right. (There isn't enough people signed up yet.) This is a two day tour that includes other stops. Any tour recommendations that will pick you up near the port? The ones on Viator seem that you have to meet at a hotel that you would need to take a cab to. I don't want to do that. Thank you.
  11. Thank you. I looked on their website. It looks like a really great place. I like the bonus of pastries. 🙂 I appreciat eyou telling me.
  12. I googled that and it is Adventure Falklands. I actually have a tour booked with them. Thank you for the recommendation.
  13. Thank you for your reply. Bluff Cove is still available, plenty of times at $225 each. Gentoo is sold out. I appreciate your honest feedback.
  14. @Ken the cruiser Hello. I just spend the last few days reading your live thread. Thank you so much for sharing. I learned so much and took notes. I just booked the Antarctica on the Sapphire in December a few weeks ago. (Just came back from my first Alaska cruise!) We are so excited for this journey. Out of all the penguin excursions you did (I think 3-4), which one was your favorite? Would you recommend all of them or one over the other? Thank you for your time.
  15. Thank you so much for sharing this info. It stounds like a great day. And thank you for sharing his contact info.
  16. I also went twice in April and had free wifi.
  17. Also, when you get to Skagway, go to the visitors center and you can get a trail map that shows all the trails. It gives directions on how to get there if you don't want to use your maps app. I wish I still had my map to show you but I gave the map to a crew member. We also walked to the Gold Rush Cemetary and Reid Falls. That was over 5 miles round trip. It was a beautiful falls that we enjoyed. That is also on the map.
  18. Thank you for sharing. It is easy to get to.
  19. Lower Dewey Lake. I would do that one first.
  20. We just got back from our cruise. In Skagway, we did Yukutania Point Trail and Smugglers Cove one day. This one is shorter and total with the hike and walking around town it was 5 miles. Another day, we did the Lower Dewey Lake hike. The hike itself was over 4 miles from the start of the trail. To and from the ship it was about 6 miles total. It was a beautiful hike.
  21. I have done both (just got back Sunday). Hubbard is definitely bigger and very impressive. College Fjord is beautiful also. It's a hard decision to have to make. We booked the 14 day Voyage of the Glaciers Grand Adventure and luckily did both.
  22. We were there also. It was a beautiful day!
  23. I have not done this yet but considering Phillips Glacier Quest Cruise or Phillips 26 Glacier Cruise. They are right near the port.
